    By the thumbnail text I 100% initially thought that this was a Victorian bonnet for a cat. This makes much more sense XD

    Oh my goodness! I too, suffer from costume ambition. So many good ideas, high standards and too little time. Your bonnet turned out fabulous. I can only imagine how stressed you must have been not only designing, sewing/glueing, trouble-shooting and panic-vlogging the whole time! You rock!

    Years ago I decided that I needed a fascinator for a meeting the next night.
    I ran to Joanne’s before they closed and purchased fabric, clear thread, and trimmings. I went home, used a wire hanger, and with a lot of trial, error, and absolutely no knowledge, made one.
    I worked on it all evening, into the wee hours of the morning, and then most of the next day. I even took the day off to finish it.
    I ended up with an over the top, top-heavy, totally not required fascinator that I never wore again. Looking back on the experience, it was totally worth it!

    I like a micro-tagging/quilt gun for emergency attachments if you don't mind tiny plastic connectors in place of pins.

    Is it bad that I give a mini cheer every time you pull out a Priorattire book?

    I love the kitty ear bow! I have sewn at 2 in the morning, and I have packed in a rush. I don't envy you. I love the balayeuse, I have a Christmas skirt that needs one to be complete. I've been putting off that monstrous amount of ruffles for reasons. I never thought of a curtain valance -- that's genius!

    As soon as your said 'make a bonnet in a couple of hours' I knew in my soul what it was foreshadowing... Major respect for pulling through!

    Off subject: How do you clean the bottom (hems) of your garments. You spend to much time and dollars for your garment to become stained or damaged. Also how much do you spend on dry cleaning? It would be advantageous to address this subject for the curious.

      That's what that dust ruffle is for! I spot clean my non-cotton garments (or cotton that is highly decorated, like my Tissot dress). Other cotton stuff just gets washed.

    Fascinating to watch you make a buckram bonnet from scratch, I don't think I've ever seen that! And I love the pink dust ruffle! It's bound to be seen, and now instead of a plain white or beigey ruffle there's more matching pink!

    The bonnet is so so cute! Cat inspection is always a good look😻 I had a thought/question: instead of hot glu for the mulling, can you use spray glue? No bumps and more of a smooth look and still no sewing. And what a good idea to use ruffed curtains as a dust ruffle! I'm going to remember that if I ever make a dress with a train.😊 I was on instagram, hope we get a video on the curtain project💜💜💜

    • @LadyRebeccaFashions
      @LadyRebeccaFashions  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hmm, maybe? Does spray glue work well on fabric? I've never tried it. And yes, it's coming in the thrift haul video this weekend.

    • @kayta84
      @kayta84 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@LadyRebeccaFashions I was watching Noelle, costuming_drama, making her stays and she used spray glue to adhere the fashion fabric to the heavy fabric. It worked for that so I wondered of it cud work for hat making😊 and that curtain project looks so fun and swooshy, I can't wait to see how you made it, I have to look for som curtains next time I go to the thrift store!

    The bonnet turned out really pretty. I looked at the venue vid to see the complete look. Your dress with the bonnet was amazing & I really loved your 2nd dress too. Everyone looked really pretty. I was amazed at how fresh you looked with so little sleep to start your adventure. Youth is a wonderful thing!!

    Of all the Happy Sewing hours on youtube... this is definitly one of my favorites. Not only because I love how you demonstrate how to make the bonnet, but also in the short time you needed to have it finished! Reminds me of the many times I rushed to costume events with last minute works! But it really looks so good and especially this dress with the bonnet ist just adorable! Send you lots of greetings from Switzerland!

    I really love the bonnet. I think this is my favorite outfit you've made so far. (Everything you make is beautiful.) I also fell in love with that fashion plate the first time I saw it. At the moment I don't have the skills to try to recreate it, but someday, and until then I can live vicariously through you.

    I love that the bonnet looks like cat ears 😹 super cute.
    I've never ever thought about sewing millinery wire onto buckram with the machine. You kind of blew my mind. So it's just zig-zagged? Do you use a particular foot for that? 🤯

    • @LadyRebeccaFashions
      @LadyRebeccaFashions  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Yep, just zigzagged with the regular foot! (Just be careful with your steering)

    Isn’t buckram construction need to receive wiring all the way around ?
