@@juliastrong4889 Hey Julia, I always think travel is an amazing idea regardless of whats going on in the world... so maybe my opinion won't be that relevant to you. If you're worried about contracting the virus well, I don't think it's ever going to go away, so you might as well. Again, just my opinion :)
I did this trek dec 2019 , just before christmas , amazing place and met some amazing people spent Christmas and New Year in Colombia , don't put off by the stigma that surrounds the country , it's defenitely woth a visit
Mark, Thank you so much for going and visiting my home country Colombia. Thanks heaps for showing the world how beautiful our Sierra Nevada is! As a Colombian living in Australia, I have to say this vídeo touch my heart in many ways: La Sierra Nevada is one of my favourite places in northern Colombia, I used to go to that area at least once a month but I never had the chance to do that trekking, and it’s one of those things I’ll do when I visit my beautiful country. Watching this video was special and makes me feel so proud of being Colombia! Muchas gracias, Marco! 😁
I did this in 2010, at the time lots of military patrolling the whole trek and the actual ancient citadel. Doesn't seem to be the case any more. Such an amazing trek and experience
Mark, thanks for sharing man! Me and my dad are planing to do Lost City in December and this video just boost my exciting for doing it. I hope you have had a great time in Colombia (my birth country)
Great photography and love the effects ! The music fits the scene perfect. The tribes reminds me of my filming travels to jungle areas of Bangladesh, and Laos a beautiful country. And Lisu lands northern China. But no more now in mid 70s
The best things are worth working for. That's the case with Colombia's Lost City trek. Although most treks are a physical challenge, the hot conditions in Colombia make this one all the trickier. Although there are clear paths and no need to climb or scramble, it's still a big achievement.
Amazing adventure, done the 4 day trip in March 2018. Struggled on first day a bit with the huge climbs/heat and too much gear in my backpack ( was a little rushed to pack the night before as I had a lot of stuff to store in Taganga too ) but once you get your pace on it gets easier. Viewed a few of these on YT as I didn't take much video, although I made up for it in plenty photos. The guides are excellent and if I could say one thing ,they are a big part of the trip with information and all they do.
Hey Mark, incredible video! I just found your channel. I did the same trek in Aug 2022 and, just like you, had an phenomenal time. I still have yet to edit the footage I took. I loved Colombia so much I plan to go back in September. Any future South America adventures?
Oh my god! I just dont know what to say... I've been following you for a long time, also you came to my country too but this video.. This video is just made me how we should be proud of our nature. Just wanted to travel like you and show that beautiful memories to people....
I’m looking at traveling towards Colombia soon I’ve got questions. 1) Did you need Yellow fever shots? 2) When’s the best time to travel Colombia temperature wise? 3) is the water safe to drink in Colombia? Did you bring Malaria pills along?
This was a really good video..thanks for lugging the drone and the camera and making something cool out of it..what were the sleeping conditions like? Cot? Hammock? Floor with a sleeping bag? Haha. Normal bed?
Hey Mark, just came upon this. Looks awesome. Thinking about doing this over Xmas with my crew. Couldn’t find the name of the tour company in the comments. Also how easy is it to get to? Would be flying in from New York, so is an airport anywhere nearby or do you need extra days to get to and from?
Hi mark, I did this hike a year or two ago and I've kicked myself ever sense for not recording the frog noises on the third night. Is there any chance you caught some audio of this you'd be willing to share. I've never quite heard anything like it before. many thanks. Micah
I want to spend the Summer in Colombia! Doing this trek & birding & snorkeling in the islands but am very considered about kidnappings! As a female, were low hanging fruit 🍒Hiring security & group trip seems a little wiser!
glad to see your video skills are better than your card skills, buddy 😉 wish we could rewind back to this adventure! hope you’re staying safe! - Nova Scotia pal
Just a few sets of clothes, sandals, good shoes, even tennis shoes are fine, which will get wet, camera, battery pack, passport if you want it to get stamped at the top, headlight/flashlight is a must, quik-dry towel, rain poncho, (large brim) hat for the sun, water purification pellets, water bottle (a must!), extra cash for tipping these great guides.
Yes. There were. I went in Aug 2022 and they were always very aware, and sensitive of the accommodations--at least with Expotur, but I think all the tour companies (including Mark's) use the same kitchen.
they say the lost city is bigger than Machu Picchu. I visited both. they were very different cultures and kinds of living. I made a couple of videos, I f you're interested, go to give them love
Honestly not bad at all! At night, every bed has a mosquito net over it and during the day i wore some bug spray, but I didn't bother sometimes as it wasn't too bad.

I did this in Aug 2022 and there were double bunk beds all 3 nights--equipped with mosquito nets. On the 3rd night some people had a tent.
@@GoJoe7 thanks!

Im an avid hiker can the hike be done in one day? Can not afford to spend 4 days. Do you know how long the hike is?

Good video bro! Thanks
Where did you book this and are you staying at Dreamer Hostel?
