I know we are memeing but it is completely different. Mat was doing it multiple times in the same video after only a couple minutes. Atrioc does it at the begging of videos for the sake of new viewers, which is genuinely helpful for the new viewers.

Actually 1/3rd of the human population has the fungus that matpat described, the one that controls ants (or something close to it that mindcontrols mice to suicide into cats I can't remember which one) in our bodies, which also affects us. Scientist have done studies on it and have found that people who have it like the smell of cat urine more than people who don't (has to do with the mice being attracted to it so they go towards cats instead of away) and we don't really know what else it changes in our brains. Pretty scary.

to be fair they just make up random shit in the show for what cards do.

You know, considering Atrioc has read about "John Truby, The anatomy of story: 22 steps to become a masterful storyteller" and frequently uses the WAC technique in his videos. I really am surprised that Mr. Fungus fingers cant see that the Goombas really represent the Palestinians getting kicked out of their own kingdom (weakness) and is really a story about reclaiming what is theirs (action). Perhaps the future games will talk about the toppling of this brutal monarchy and conclude the (change).

I like how the video starts by asking why Peach rules a bunch of Mushroom people even though she's a human, but then the conclusion is just that she inexplicably rules a bunch of mushroom parasites that she had take over the bodies of the humanoid inhabitants.

I always enjoyed game theory growing up bc it taught me cool things and just tied it into video games so that it was fun to learn
Atrioc finally understands the pain of elusive target explanations
I always thought about this and finally it has been proven
I like how Atrioc rages at the video as if Game Theory videos aren't targeting the "9 year old kids with no object permanence and 30 seconds of auditory memory" demographic.
But obviously this theory is all wrong and stupid because they are not mushrooms they are in fact called toads (not to be confused with frogs). Now toads are a bit different from mushrooms but I can see how someone visually impaired might think they are the same. Toads are toads. Peach is just a vegan and calls herself by what she eats the most because you know what they say, "you are what you eat". In the past she ate a lot of mushrooms so called herself Toadstool. Now she also eats a lot of peaches and calls herself Peach, and because she is of the royal family the denizens of the Mushroom Kingdom call her whatever she wants to be called. Now, it is called the mushroom kingdom because the buildings looked like mushrooms and then the whole kingdom became a tourist attraction for visitors from other kingdoms, mainly the Koopa Kingdom so they started outfitting themselves as mushrooms as part of the aesthetic and it stuck. You can't just decide something is not cannon Pat Mat just because it doesn't fit your theory.
Toads are clearly amphibians that spend most of their time on land and have a friendly rivalry with the neighboring reptilian kingdom as shown in mario party, mario tennis, mario kart games
Now goombas on the other hand... those are clearly a mistranslation of gabagool but can you blame the Japanese developers for never having visited the USA state of NJ? They are basically grown to be meat for the rest of the population of Koopa Kingdom sort of like the pigs of our world (smart for animals but not able to progress beyond) and go well with Shitake mushrooms

I love that he uses a "recent" discovery in science to prove a theory for a game made almost 40 years ago
Imagine you're the King of some Nation and you are well loved by your people. You don't tax too harsh and you keep people safe and fed and you pride yourself on having a beacon of goodness as your kingdom. Then you have to go to war to save your neighboring kingdom and it rips your heart out. You have to perform heinous acts such as murder and you know it's justified b/c the enemy ruling class is doing terrible things to your neighboring nation, but it still pains you to your core when you command your nation's men to kill in your name.
Then during an air fight between your nations you are called to make a decision and you shoot the enemies out of the sky. Your cause is just but maddening and as they fall from the sky you scream out "Bwah ha ha ha haaa! I am just so dang Evil! I hope they felt honored to be shot down by me!" You cry out in pain but somehow laugh at the ridiculous horrors that you know must be done. The weight of your deeds burdens your heart and you know the only way to stop this madness is to find her, once and for all you must capture the enemies leader. "Hear this! I will kidnap Peach Over and Over until I pull it off! And no one can stop me! Losing is not an option! And neith is giving up!" Your decree is sent to all the surrounding territories. If you give up now then it will have all been for nothing, and you know that you cannot quit and that you must succeed.
~Just throwing some like possible ways to interpret those sentences.. It's easily plausible that bowser is the good guy even with lines like that and the Fungus brain mushroom people theory still works.
Atrioc knows that MatPat doesn't believe any of these theories are canon in any way, right? Like, he doesn't legitimately think that Nintendo secretly makes all these obscure backstories for all these characters. Besides a few exceptions, the theories are just trying to apply real world logic where it clearly can't fit for the sake of enjoyment. It's not meant to be taken all that seriously. It's meant to ask weird questions and find weird answers.
Also, when he says, "remember that thing we talked about before", it's just a simple segue into the topic. It takes 2 seconds and establishes that he's back on that topic. Not anything to throw a fit over. It's just a transition.
Yes, most of the theories are ridiculous, but that's kinda the point. I don't really watch game theory anymore, but I still think it's decently entertaining content, just not for everyone. Food theory is actually a lot more interesting to me because most of the videos he does there are based on real life things, so there are legitimate answers and evidence to be found. Some are better than others, but they are usually entertaining for a lot of people.
Again, it's not everyone's thing, but I think Atrioc is a little over dramatic about it.

As far as Mario lore is considered big A, Peach isn't actually a human but a toad (mushroom) like her subjects.
It's the crown that changes her into peach.
I think "Mario, the hero of the story (maybe)" means that you might just suck at the game and not save Peach.

I think people misunderstand the point of game theory, I don't think the theories are meant to be taken as fact or even as a likely possibility, they are meant to look deeper into certain games and provide evidence that makes you think about aspects in a way you might not have before (the biggest case of this being the manual line "Mario is the hero (maybe)")

I don't know about that last part. Sounds more like bowser is joking. Like Mario is painting him as a bad guy, so he's making jokes about it like ya I'm so evil, or hey look at this milk we drink it's from an "evil cow". This just cements the belief that bowser is the good guy fighting for truth justice and the mushroom kingdom way.

I've stopped watching MatPat, I remember one of the reason I stopped watching is because he's always working backwards
There's never an actual theory that leads to a conclusion, it's a cool concept he thought of and tries to reverse engineer the whole thing so it makes sense
