I have no idea why no one has commented on this lecture. I really enjoyed this and learned a lot. I mostly follow more "digestible" paleontology like Eons, so I feel very fortunate the YT algorism dished this lecture up for me. The whole process from permits on down to the final lab work is really what we presented. My question is about what's happening in China and Mongolia. I've heard about all sorts of small dinos. It would have been nice to hear briefly about similar finds in these countries as well. Thank you, Dr. Lacovara and all those long-suffering grad students!

Dr Lacovara has a rare knack for being casual yet highly informative - he skillfully parsed the topic so that it all flowed together in the minds of the audience members - he had a ready smile to accompany his wry humor - consequently the time flew by - at maximum enjoyment and enlightenment

Amazes me how some people think their world view is THE world view. My happiness would not come from digging a whole in the ground no matter how many first scene layers of reality are revealed.

I took it as he was just saying his world view and that his wasn’t the normal

Those 3d models of hominid fossils by the Smithsonian leave a lot to be desired. I can produce better 3d models with my phone camera and a pc. Hopefully v2 is a bit better.
