That was a really nice camp spot and so was the last one. I love that so many folks are making good use of their land and making it available with hip camp and harvest hosts. Its a win win for everyone. I am looking forward to visiting the UP with Y'all! Simce I've watched all of your vlogs from.the first one, I have started saying, " That right there" . I love how we have different ways of saying things. You say, We purchased this item". I say bought. Just interesting things to note. Cheers! When I moved to North Idaho in "91", they called a soft drink POP. In California, it was soda. Also a grocery bag in the north is a sack. 😃
We have been living off grid in a 16X20 canvas wall tent for a little over a year now. We use an outhouse and an outdoor shower. We are pretty much learning as we go.
Yum, pizza. You guys do such a great job in logging your travels. We look forward to everything y’all do. By the time you get this, you will be in the UP. You guys will love it. Another great job . David and Juanita
Love birch it's one of the only hard woods we have here in our region of BC, smaller chunks can put out just as much heat as larger chunks of pine and we prefer to season it for cold season camps or winter ice fishing trips.
Man, these places are so cool. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us! I get to see places I otherwise wouldn’t. Maybe one day I can hit some of these up. Also, I’d love to see a hiking packing video. Like what are the things you guys pack in a backpack for a day or overnight hike, or kayak? Also, footwear for you guys on the road. I’m sure as active as y’all are, footwear is a huge deal. Just something I’d love to see. Safe travels!!!
You folks should look into the Kodiak Tent designs. They make a flex bow design which is very easy to set up after driving in the stakes. They make two different sizes , 10X1- and 10X14, and a few different models of each. The top of the line is the VX model with loads of ventalation posibilities. They are very H.D. with breathable duck canvas and top of the line YKK zippers. Breathable and no fly needed. Competetive Edge out of Salt Lake area is their largest dealer and ships all over the U.S free. Not actually that expensive. If interested in Canvas be sure to research them. I HIGHLY recommend them!
When you're making your loop back south, if you come through Iowa there are places you can boondock for free in NE Iowa, often right next to good trout streams.
You should come up to Missouri to the glamp tents in Big Cedar Lodge by Bass Pro Johnny Morris. Just like this but on the edge of a lake. The fanciest tents you'll ever stay in plus they all have outdoor tubs and a fence around it for privacy. They are actually decorated with Bass Pro decor and air conditioners/heaters.
ok im sure your n the UP already, but just in case, here are some cool things to do: GO to Taquaminam falls, whitefish point, the Soo and definetly take the boat ride through the locks, Oswald Bear Farm, Tipi Kipi ferry over the natural springs, The boat ride to the Pictured Rocks, and the glass bottom boat to see the ship wreaks, Fayette historic coal town, Bond Falls, Wagner Falls, (just some of the over 500 ish falls in the UP), Porcupine Mts, Copper Harbor and Wilkins fort (this town is so cool ), go to the scenic road to the top (out of copper harbor)...........Just a few of the points of interest!
Putting stalks of rosemary on the hot coals of the barbecue emits an aroma that fends off mosquitos, while adding sage to the campfire or fire pits keeps other bugs away
So excited to see your impressions of the the UP. You mentioned Mastique but I hope you’re not missing Tahquamenon Fall, or the Picture Rock National Lake shores. Lots of great hiking at pictured rocks and other beautiful waterfalls. Some of the most number one things to do in Michigan! You can take the pictured rock boat tour ….that area is a must not miss!!!!! Love watching you both enjoy my beautiful state of Michigan!!! My count down for camping up there is Five days. Yahoo
Kellie and Cody thanks for lifting my spirits and making me smile... how relaxing is this camping spot , just gorgeous, love you both 😘 thanks for your continued amazing vlogs Cody and Michelin star episodes Kellie. Ciao Wendy 🇭🇲 in 🇮🇹 ❤️✌️👋
Next time you cook with the Dutch, put tinfoil down first and coals on top of foil. Keeps the cold and moisture away from your coals and reflects the heat up towards your Dutch oven. Works like a charm, but can cook a little faster. 🙂
The tents are often called Bell tents or Wall tents. They can even be “winterized with a wood burning stove. Some come with a hole in the roof for the stove stack.
When I was a wee lad they were called campaign tents, we had them military surplus. It has been very interesting watching what you chose to do in my neck of the woods. Now your moving on to the UP, a lot to see and do up there, I’ll waiting to see your itinerary. You can’t go wrong.
Spinach and artichoke pizza is going on my shopping list. Wow did that look good!! The canvas tent setup was so nice. And on a platform to keep it dry and clean! These owners truly care about their customers. One thing about owning a canvas tent - when it rains, it takes FOREVER to dry out. And they're heavy to deal with, whether dry or wet - they're HEAVY. You guys would make great campground owners, when you get ready to settle in to one place. You've got tons of camping experience, and would know how to make it nice. I have friends, a married couple, who bought a campground in their retirement years and they're loving it. They have a nice big community firepit for get-togethers, maybe 30-40 campsites and a little gift shop. It's really cute. About the UP - good that you stocked up on food. The UP is D E S O L A T E. Woods, woods, woods. And when you camp, be very careful with food because there are bears, bears, bears. Enjoy going over the Mackinac Bridge. It's very long.
I’ve had those ovens for 30plus years and never knew to put something on top for the temperature control. I’ve retired mine now and use a two burner stove with oven.
Looks like a pretty hip spot! Canvas tents are awesome to have on windy days because they don’t flap around and make a bunch of noise like a regular tent. They also breathe a lot better. Only drawback is the weight. I think mine is about 70 pounds, love it though!
Quick question.. What was the white stuff in the little tub you put in the Alfredo sauce after putting butter in? Looks delicious 🤤 Love watching your videos ❤️❤️❤️
When you have time could you do a post on your drone. You get great high shots would like some pointers. I usually have problems seeing it and wind issues. Appreciate it! Great job
I would love to have some property so I can make a couple of hipcamp spots on it and would totally do that tent setup. If I'm ever up that way I would definitely look at staying there.
It's so fun to watch you travel my home state Michigan! She is a jewel this time of year! You will love the UP! Hope you are still there, we will be camping at Bay Furnace State Forest campground soon! ALSO you must visit Canyon Falls, it's amazing!
Yes Canvas tent is one of the 5 tents we have. Emadafact that's what we are using up in the pocono mountains this weekend. I sure love making the hummus in the Am. Safe travels
Hummus toast and pizza to die for (~);}!!! Have you ever put the hummus veggies on a pizza? I bet it would be amazing!! Again thanks for sharing and safe travels!!!
My uncle has a cabin just outside of Manastiqe. If you see a Clyde's You need to try the Bison burger. You can get a huge one. It's either a pound or 3/4 pounder 🤣👍🏻👍🏻
great job, I love the U.P. I grew up in Mi. and you you guys should move and live here. Water is the most critical resource, and we have it all. your family would be safe foreve. Y are going to love the U. P. Please stop at the Mystery that is right after the bridge crossing, you will have so much fun!!!
I remember when canvas tents is about all that you could get. A Boy Scout camp all of the tents were like the one you are staying in now, including the wooden platform. The ones we carried on our troop campouts had no platform. They were heavy and could keep you warm in the winter and dry when it rained. I had a canvas 2 man pup tent that lasted many years. Is there a canvas tent in your near future?
Nice hip camp, the glamping tent looked spacious and ventilation windows along the bottom ,great idea from manufacturer. The pizza recipe looked so easy to put together, and it looked perfect and delicious. Thanks for sharing this video with us. Sincerely, Shay's Ways
I love Michigan! Growing up in Georgia the only thing I knew about Michigan was Detroit. That all changed after making friends with people from there. I have a made a couple of trips over the years traveling all over the LP, and some of the UP. I would move there today if I could. After 40+ years of this never ending Georgia heat and humidity, and living in a cesspool (AKA metro Atlanta). I’m ready to take my chances somewhere else.
That camping spot was amazing. Kelly you're officially turning into one as a couple when you said loving it loving it, that was Cody 100%. LOL and something else you said exactly the way he does too had me giggling. You two are too cute ❤️❤️❤️😁😁
The pizza looks amazing! Going to have to try it. The campground is awesome. Yurt style tent. I am headed to Colorado in July for a camping trip too. Cant wait.
I had to look up what a hipcamp is. We have thought about allowing handicap hunting on our land. I can't wait to head u.p. north this friday. I just bought some new cast iron pans. Escanba is cheaper than Manistique for geoceries. We were surprised by the selection in Manistique. Better than local groecery store at home. The little store in Germfask has expanded they have a lot of stuff. The old church is pretty cool. The only bad thing about the U.p. is we never have enough time to do everything we would like to. Plus working building a homestead there. Gotta go put brick in the wall. Next week I get to work on digging my root cellar and building pavillon frame u.p. north.
I know the tent configuration as a yurt but I have heard other names for them. Beautiful property. The details put into the outhouse (gorgeous) are awesome.
MAN!!! i'v been wanting to go to the area you guys are at for a few years now and watching you're Michigan trip so far has made it even worse. im living in tennessee now but i grew up in ny by lake ontario and i want to take my girls to michigan for that big lake experience so badly now. love the content.
The pizza looks good, it's not burnt, it's perfect Kelly. Love the tent
Yes!! Welcome to my world! Bell Teton. I have one just like it. Get you one!
Pizza looks like the bomb!
Ohhhh Glamping. Very Cool!
That was a really nice camp spot and so was the last one. I love that so many folks are making good use of their land and making it available with hip camp and harvest hosts. Its a win win for everyone. I am looking forward to visiting the UP with Y'all!

Being from Florida never realized how beautiful Michigan is. You have enlightened me. Thanks.
I can’t imagine being unlucky enough to not be able to live here.. I love Michigan. 🙏🏼
Love it Angle Princess, " I have to agree". That is my favorite pizza.
That looks like the Teton Tent! We've been living in the SIERRA CANVAS TENT 16' for 8 months now. We LOVE it!
We have been living off grid in a 16X20 canvas wall tent for a little over a year now. We use an outhouse and an outdoor shower. We are pretty much learning as we go.
I love my bell tent. Enjoy and thank for the wonderful videos.
Straight black coffee for me
My hubby and I currently live in one of these and we LOVE it!

Synchronized chardio.... epic!
👍👍👍👍👍
what a great setup!
I had a breakfast pizza Sunday. Pizza doe baked then scrambled eggs on top and what ever you want to go in it. My first and it was awesome
Pretty place. Pizza looked so yummy. Loved the toast with tomatoes and balsamic. Can’t wait for your cook book to come out. I definitely want one. 💕🏕
That is a cool place
❤️❤️❤️❤️
What a cool tip about the cast iron on top of the oven. It makes sense because cast iron is known for distributing heat evenly..
Man, these places are so cool. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us! I get to see places I otherwise wouldn’t. Maybe one day I can hit some of these up. Great video as always. Enjoyed. Charles
Nice camp yet again! Love watching y'all and the adventures y'all take me to. Thank you again🤗

Sorry, typo, the two sizes are 10X10 and 10X14. Oh another thing, you can stand in both!
Gorg! 💙💙💙 Love it! I always enjoy y'all's videos.
Add lots of garlic cloves to those tomatoes and maybe put balsamic on at table. Perfecto.
Enjoyed this video, what a great place
When you're making your loop back south, if you come through Iowa there are places you can boondock for free in NE Iowa, often right next to good trout streams.
They’re called Bell tents. We have one from White Duck and they’re awesome. They’re like if a teepee and a yurt had a baby.
Ive been looking at them for awhile no, is the white duck brand a good one?
@@Redneckerthanu yes indeed!
Well that answers my question
I absolutely love your recipes! Thank You!!!
pizza looks amazing!
Well this one was up town high rent! Nice y'all!
Bell Tent. I believe that is the nicest campsite I have ever seen. Love the pine forest.
You should come up to Missouri to the glamp tents in Big Cedar Lodge by Bass Pro Johnny Morris. Just like this but on the edge of a lake. Cool set up!
I predict a Springbar canvas tent in your future!!
Lovely place lovely tent ⛺️ & your a lovely couple. Perfect 🍕 pizza. Cheers Lynne Victoria Australia 🇦🇺🐨👍🏻❤️❤️❤️
Putting stalks of rosemary on the hot coals of the barbecue emits an aroma that fends off mosquitos, while adding sage to the campfire or fire pits keeps other bugs away

The upper peninsula of Michigan
Glamping for the "older" generation.😁❤ Love the size of your campsite and facilities.
So excited to see your impressions of the the UP. You mentioned Mastique but I hope you’re not missing Tahquamenon Fall, or the Picture Rock National Lake shores. Oh yes I alike this. I’m going to share with my daughter to see if that can be our next vacation. Awesome thanks for sharing.
Perfect pizza don't change anything, have good trip to the U P.

I hope you are going to Copper Harbor. As trail riders you don’t want to miss it. And Mt Bohemia has an inexpensive and fun Nordic swim/spa.

40 degrees at night sounds so nice! I'm jealous!
Good video, fantastic food, wonderful people.
That is fantastic I love the set up there.
Thanks for the oven I will try that
Good thing you stocked up on food since your heading to the U.P. Not much up there depending on where your going....
Have you ever thought about eventually getting land and putting up a yurt?
I’ve had those ovens for 30plus years and never knew to put something on top for the temperature control. I’ve retired mine now and use a two burner stove with oven.

I've been alive for over 62 years and have never seen an outhouse with windchimes.
This place is my camping dream! Wanna go!!
Tahquamenon falls is a great state park

We have a bell canvas tent with a pipe stove vent. You can cook on the winnerwell stove and also can add an oven that attaches to the stove pipe.
Here in Canada we call those canvas tents "yurts".
The pizza looks amazing! Going to have to try it. The campground is awesome. Yurt style tent. I am headed to Colorado in July for a camping trip too. Cant wait.

Could I ask what coffee grinder you use?
🙋💕
I know the tent configuration as a yurt but I have heard other names for them. Beautiful property. The details put into the outhouse (gorgeous) are awesome.
Arkansas has canvas tents and yurts at some state parks but I’ve never stayed in one either.
how does the pizza dough work if you don't knead it?? can we see the crust texture?
You guys need to come over to WI and camp by Lake Superior.
Kellie 🤔I almost sure but is the flower you use plane or self rising.
Enjoy the UP, you will love it. Get up to Marquette. I have 2 granddaughters there. I just went up in May. Hot then cold. Love to visit from South Ga
what are the added fees for air bnb or hip camp ? i think Michigan state parks might be cheaper ?
MAN!!! i'v been wanting to go to the area you guys are at for a few years now and watching you're Michigan trip so far has made it even worse. im living in tennessee now but i grew up in ny by lake ontario and i want to take my girls to michigan for that big lake experience so badly now. love the content.
