    Summary:
Nate's story is a personal account of how his homestead came to be, and the challenging journey that led him there. Here's the key narrative:
    Early Life & Background:
Nate grew up in Pennsylvania with his younger siblings Jezebel and Nabal. Though he initially had a strained relationship with his brother, he eventually became Christian and their relationship improved. His family later converted to Mennonite Christianity when he was 16. After high school, he moved to Pennsylvania to work in construction.
    Marriage & Early Adult Life:
Nate married Delila after meeting her online. Their early marriage seemed stable until he discovered she had multiple affairs. Despite this, influenced by his religious beliefs about forgiveness, he chose to stay in the marriage and work through it. They attended various churches, eventually settling into a Baptist congregation.
    Path to Homesteading:
Nate, Delila, and his sister Jezebel decided to start a homestead together. They pooled their resources, with Nate providing most of the funding and Jezebel planning to manage the animals. They eventually found and purchased a 100-acre property in West Virginia.
    The Breakdown:
After moving to the homestead, tensions grew between all parties. Jezebel showed concerning behavior with animals, often responding with anger and harsh treatment. Delila became increasingly unhappy with homestead life. The situation deteriorated further when Nate gained a significant following on social media, which created jealousy and additional tension.
    The Crisis:
One morning, Nate woke to find a group of Mennonites and religious leaders at his door. They helped Jezebel suddenly move out, leaving dead animals scattered across the property. This group then attempted to manipulate Nate through what he later recognized as cult-like brainwashing tactics, trying to convince him he was a narcissist who needed rehabilitation at a Mennonite facility.
    Resolution:
Nate eventually realized he was being manipulated by this religious group. With support from his social media moderators (including Jen, who later became his girlfriend) and neighbors, he managed to:
    - Complete a financial separation from both Jezebel and Delila
    - Obtain a loan to buy out their shares of the property
    - Finalize his divorce from Delila
    - Cut ties with the Mennonite group
    The Aftermath:
Though the experience was traumatic, Nate has continued building his homestead. Some positive outcomes emerged: three ducks that survived Jezebel's departure have multiplied into twenty-two, he's developed strong relationships with his neighbors, and he's found new happiness with Jen. He continues to run his successful social media channels while building his homestead, though he remains cautious about the potential for the Mennonite group to resurface in his life.
The story serves as both a personal account of survival through manipulation and betrayal, and a cautionary tale about certain religious groups that operate more like cults, using people's vulnerabilities against them for financial and social control.

Nate❣️I just watched your entire video. I was angry. I was horrified. I was hanging on the edge of my chair. I cried. I’m heartbroken. And I’m elated you are where you are. You have made great strides with yourself and in learning to accept love again. Jen is fantastic. She adds so much to your life and to your homestead. Your animals are beautiful and healthy. Minion and Az and the kitties are pure unconditional love. I have only been a viewer for probably about a year now, and love each one of your videos. I’m wearing my “Go Places Do Things” t-shirt as I make this text. I’m so proud that you are no longer beating yourself up. You’re a strong man and I know you have much to share with your channel. I, for one, will be here for whatever you have to share. Much respect and prayers to you and yours ❣️ Liz from Georgia USA

(Replying to myself to finish my comment after finishing watching this...)
This was one heck of a story. I'm glad you are in a better situation. That was pure nonsense, and you had to be strong to make it through it all. I would've died a bit inside at the animal treatment and the yard full of dead dismembered ones. That's pure evil. I just have to be honest and say it. They all seemed evil in some way. Again, much respect to you, Nate. You persevered, and life blessed you with genuine, kind people in your life. I've always been scared of that religion, and others like it. They are like their own little mafias. Just my opinion. You see the shows where they disown any children or family who leave to do their own thing...very much like cults. I agreed with all you said and thought you were nicer than I could be about it. I'm so glad your life became free. Many blessings for the future!

I'm a first child/eldest sibling too. It is not always the case, but your parents often learn on you and your younger siblings reap the benefits. Part of it is too your parents are worn out by then too lol. The eldest is seldom allowed the same privileges and is usually subject to much harsher discipline and restrictions. It makes sense when you grow up, but it's hard to understand when you're a child.

For those who are not familiar with your journey or are missing some in the series, I think this will make it much easier for them to catch up. Hopefully they realize you did not have to share any of this, but you did nonetheless because that is the type of person you are! It's hard building on a foundation that is not firm. Dude if you're humbling yourself before the creator asking him what's wrong with you on the daily, and you get no answer, that's your answer.
In trauma counseling, they say that the thing "wrong" with you is a lack of adequate defenses from people who...let's say, they have high support needs in terms of very strong boundaries.
If you've been conditioned your whole life to try to appease and make reason of people and situations that are unreasonable, then you're vulnerable to bad-faith behavior.
I've been through much the same. A lot of your story reminds me of mine. I can relate to coming out the other side, too. Wow, what a story! I grew up in a Methodist ministers household. When I left for college I was eventually approached by a Southern Baptist preacher and so I became a Southern Baptist. Eventually I ended up getting married and having children. The second child has Down Syndrome and as he grew into a toddler who was a running dotter and no one wanted to help keep him corralled. We eventually left that church and NO ONE noticed, NO ONE contacted me. It was after that I read Asimov's book on the creation of the Bible and it was that book that showed me how religious organizations are nothing more than an extension of a government to help stop people from thinking for themselves. I now believe that God (or a higher being) exists but the Bible is nothing more than stories and myths with a message of how you should live or not live as a human being. Loved this video; it gives us great context of how you are you.

Providence led me to this story as I am going through a divorce and an emotionally rough time. I applaud your courage and strength to share your story. It is more important than you could ever imagine. I personally could never do it.
I must admit that I envy the support system you have built, but I am truly inspired to cultivate my own. I am currently absolutely alone struggling to save my family's small homestead farm and often mistakenly feel like Jobe. Watching your TH-cam videos has been a bright point of hope reminding me just how many blessings, privileges, and resources I really have to work with. Although I have lost my religion, stories like your's restore my faith. I have a long dark struggle ahead of me, but the reward I feel working, cultivating, and restoring this land fuels me with more joy than my failed marriage ever did. Muscovys and Dogs are also at the core of my own homestead endeavor, although I also have chickens, ducks, guineas, geese, turkeys, sheep, and goats to contend with. Like you, I talk to them like people and their presence, I think, has saved me from a darker, more tragic outcome. It has been a year since my struggle began, and it feels like I am just coming out of a state of shock. I feel like I've been drowning, and your videos have been like oxygen, letting me know I am not Jobe, and I am not alone.
    Thank you.

I watched EVERY BIT of the original!! I'm glad your life got better and Jen is with you! I found your channel around the time you were still living in the camper all by yourself with Minion. I was like dang. He's a great man and needs a great companion to lift him and make life worth living again. I'm glad things did a 180°. When a great man is cared for he will flourish and grow! And that you have! Wishing you, Jen and the entire Homestead all the best. Much laughter & love & good times!

So having reached the point in the video. Thank you. Thank you for having your beliefs but not really ever bringing them up on this channel. I do not share your beliefs and it is very welcome to hear you do believe in some higher power but that you deliberately keep it separate.
Also, thank you for just plain being decent and putting the story out in a level reasoned way, you never seemed angry or frustrated with it, its speaks to the bigger person in you that you can be so reasonable.

Sorry you had to go through all this, many of us have a similar story. You're doing great and I sincerely hope you keep your head up! Two things I always keep in mind when the "can I have a relationship with these folks that hurt me" conversation enters my thoughts: 1. Maya Angelou said "When someone shows you who they are, believe them" and 2. "I don’t know a perfect person. I only know flawed people who are still worth loving" from John Green. That said, establishing boundaries and keeping lines of communication flowing are good things, as long as you feel that it is worth the effort. You can't change anyone but yourself and sometimes some people are just not worth the energy. Great channel, you're finding your way and being an example to so many. Thanks for sharing your journey.

Haven't got through the whole video yet, but I felt same about my babysister, but we eventually got along ,we were after all of that stuff really close, we as adults got into a argument and didn't talk for sometime got past that we had talked on the phone for about a month ,I was going to go visit her I never got the chance she passed away 2017 so I never did get to visit her, so I have learnt my lesson, a very heart wrenching lesson 😢, life is rough if we don't make mistakes we don't learn I suppose . Have to leave wifi for a bit ,I will be back interesting 🤔

Your bravery in opening up about challenging incidents and relationships from your past is extremely admirable. It takes a lot of courage to do this... especially when it means doing it on the internet. You are loved and accepted. I hope to have the same courage one day. Cheers to the future.

Nate I remember seeing your sister and ex wife on your videos and they both seemed off. Like they didn’t seem genuine. I continued to watch you and have been here a long time. I’m so glad you shared this story it was very interesting but I’m very sad that this happened to you. I’m glad to see you be so successful with all of your social media platforms 🎉🙌

      Hi Nate
I've watched a fair number of your previous videos ! Thinking you are a cat of different colors !😊
This , video so far after Chapter 9 LOL😊
I really can't understand how a person or in your case the two of you would stay together !
Thinking both of you are NUTS ! Like you guys really needed to give your head a shake !
I'm gonna watch more but I have a feeling it's not gonna really get any better for you ! Sad situation that you guys put up with !
Wondering ...in episode 9 there is a lot of noise in the background...is that your girlfriend working in the kitchen ??
If so I'm thinking it's probably Not really a healthy situation for your girlfriend listening to this history of an ex wife !
Anyway I guess it is what it is !!

As someone who only occasionally checks in here to see how Minion is doing (j/k .. I like, enjoy & learn from Nate's content) I found this video enthralling. So much could be said about the different twists & turns that led Nate to this point in his life, but I'll only say this ... I'm happy that Jen is in his life now, I'm a good vibes person ... and she gives off really good vibes. Best wishes to you both!!

Nate. You should totally get a ghost writer and put out a book. Or do it yourself, idk maybe you're a great writer for all I know, lol. I think it's an interesting enough story to warrant a wider audience. And when it's made into an audio book, you narrating it will be absolute perfection. That's just my 2 cents, but I think it would be great.
