Great game. Havn't had this feeling for more than 10 years. I almost gave up on gaming and sold my pc.. i am happy i gave this release the last try. Enjoying the game a lot!!
WHAT? A game where I have to use my potions and also upgrade my gear as I play? No no no Mr. Lama. We will have to spam GGG now until they nurfe everything so much so that I can watch Netflix while zooming through bosses playing a one-button build from level 1……
@@derringera I wish they still taught kids how to read in school. If the schools won’t do it I will try. I said nothing in d2 is even remotely hard compared to poe2. Obviously they have similarities but if you knew how to read you would know that’s not what I said. Maybe get off the video games and read a book. Or at least maybe read the dialogue in game because you need help.
I thought I wasn't going to like the slower pace of the game but turns out I absolutely love it. The passive tree is better, gems are more intuitive. GGG frigging nailed it in my opinion. So happy to play a new arpg not be disappointed lol.
PoE2 is already a masterpiece, and it’s only going to get better. A huge part of POE 2 that I’m really loving is not feeling like I need a path to an endgame build in order to just jump in and start having fun. Huge huge win on their part. BUT there’s still a high skill-ceiling, it’s as ridiculous as you want to make it. It’s satisfyingly slow without holding you back, it’s actually genius. Also, I love keyboard/mouse, but controller feels really solid with PoE2.
I love how the spells interact with each other. One does something, the second does something and by combining them, you create a combined spell effect.
tried POE2 until act3, feels like d2 with 20 years of patches, game is definitely super good but it fries your brain every frame trying to understand what's happening, what skills on what keys do (and the order/combination of pressing them), what the mobs that you face do, how they move, what spells they cast, do they leave toxic goo under? do they explode? what type of elemental damage they deal, and that's just the gameplay aspect, the passives, skills, support gem combinations, spirit reservation aspect what mods can be on every sort of items, class items (that can drop class mods), the absurd huge maps, the slow movement, THERE IS A LOT
As someone coming from MOBAs, WoW and other ARPGs, remembering 8 skills is going to be muscle memory at some point. Make a system which type of skills you have oriented what way and you'll get used to it quick. As someone playing a lot of WoW where there are literally 20-30 buttons to press in combat, it really is chill here for some people. Practice is all you need. D2 had just as many buttons though. Maybe less with lazier playstyle. Here you are supposed to combo them and have some utility active too.
What i like about the passive tree in poe2 is the attribute nodes and how you can selece any of the ones you need rather then being specifically placed.
I’m not enjoying it at all. Witch, minions. Act 1 is a stopper. Love how the streamers all just coincidentally discover flame wall in time for the end of the act. You stick with the core idea of hey summons are cool. Take points related to that. And you won’t clear act 1. I’m going to roll something else before deciding if this gets binned like POE1 did for me.
Awesome tips, you kinda know in the back of your head but you think you can rush through anyway then you get frustrated. Calmed me down a bit😌. Nice tip with the currency as well.
I was all about the WASD until i tried controller. Don’t think I’ll go back to keyboard. I usually prefer M&K, so changing to controller is pretty rare for me.
I think it's safe to say that amidst the dozens of clones and botched sequels, this is the truest successor to Diablo 2 we've ever had. It's not just the obvious callbacks like with NPCs, quests, areas, music, but GGG actually nailed a specific gameplay feel and atmosphere that's been forgotten for over two decades.
There are three control styles available: point/click, WASD, AND Controller (which feels incredible). You have to go in to the options to select controller before you go to character select to change your input to controller. One drawback to controller is it seems you get one less hotbar slot vs WASD.
hey man, thanks for the great video. One thing that is not clear is, does the concentrated effect increase the damage of lighting bursts from lighting rods?
Absolutely great video, very useful as a noob to POE, thank you! In regards to gems, there's something I'm a little confused about: if - for a ranger - you gem the Lightning Arrow to split into 3 projectiles and the DPS drops by a %, am I correct in asusming that that's for a single projectile? OR is that the overall DPS and it's split in between all projectiles a single attack shoots out?
Thanks for the video the video my good man. Very helpful indeed. Most important tip is to have fun. Me personally I'm having a blast. I think you'll love the Witch when you get the time to play as that character. " INSANE " Peace brother.✌
In regards to the node that gives 'increases and reductions to projectile speed apply to damage with bows', it probably won't work with the gem that gives more proj speed. Typically in Path increases and reductions are considered separate from more and less modifiers.
WASD movement feels great if you have a mouse with extra buttons. Mapping your QERTF attacks to your thumb buttons alleviates the problem that Llama brought up.
Cheers, Im from D1 D2 D3 and PoE2 is just the best thing that has happened to the ARPG Genre. The pacing is slow and enemies actually kill you. Over lvling and doing maps and bosses 4 to 5 times before progressing to the next map and boss is better for me and I like it. This is more of a late 90's early 2000's slow paced and grind till you cant get any more exp from monsters approach. Im still on act 1 and Im not planning to rush and complete against other players. Ill play the game at my own pace.
ESDF instead of WASD frees up your pinkie to do things while you diagonal strafe. I know it's not for everyone, but I'll always quietly proselytize whenever I can. WASD may be standard, but that does not mean it is better!

I wonder if poe2 could work same or better with removing augs and exalts. so just transmutation to make an item blue and add mods up to the blue cap, and regal to make an item yellow from blue and also add more mods like the exalt. (removing 2 currencies to simplify it more)

Very early but it's certainly trending in that direction.
I am really surprised, it feels awesome at times and reminds me of the feel of playing d2 the first time.
It actually feels like diablo 3...
Too early I would say most games are super amazing first few weeks
This game feels so much like d2 it’s kind of uncanny
tip 6: yes, the way you were supposed to go was that tiny speck of the map you didn't uncover, its actually the opening to a bridge you need to take.

I really didn’t jive with PoE1, but I’m LOVING PoE2. It feels sooooo much like D2 so far, but in all the best ways. The MUSIC especially.

Diablo 1 vibes
What?
As a casual I still struggle to beat act 1 boss and have already beat more challenging bosses up to it than entire Diablo 4 in just one act.
This is what D3 should've been, absolutely having a blast playing PoE 2, this is only early access so it's going to be even better when it goes gold.
The amount of time the devs took to implement the help menus is so nice for new players.
