This 1974 Pontiac Trans Am is a real Cream Puff! Its powered by its #'s matching 455 4bb V8 engine and is mated to its #'s matching turbo 400 automatic transmission. It comes equipped with power steering, power disc brakes, factory tachometer, gauges, shaker hood, am fm radio with factory 8 Trac, air conditioning, and is riding on a nice set of PMD Rally wheels with new staggered RWL tires. Its exterior admiralty blue paint looks amazing and has been buffed to a brilliant shine. Its floors, frame, body, and trunk are rust free and detailed very nicely. If you are lookin TA is rare and this one is awesome! Its white bucket seat interior is also in excellent condition and makes a great color combination for this TA!

Nice car miss my 70 formula 400
1974 was really the last good year for the Firebird. There was the Formula 455 and you could get it with functional hood scoops. The Trans Am had the 455 but non functional reverse hood scoop. Noise
pollution laws, go figure. But the 455SD could be had in both the Formula and Trans Am. Rated at 290hp it was down 20hp from the previous year. After 1974 the Firebirds got a huge catalytic convertet and no dusll exhausts just chrime exhaust tips. The 400 was rated at 185 and in the summer of 1975 Pontisc brought back the 455 rated at around 210 hp and could only be had with a four speed.

Pontiac never really made a big Block engine they used the 326 block up to the 455
@@mikehocking4836 What have you been smoking 🚬 Pontiac big blocks been derived from the 389 then 421,bored out to 428-429 all the way to 455! The 400 breathed way better than the 389, with better internals and heads.

74 is a great year for pontiac. Prior to smog bs, and still a good compression ratio. The super duty is considered the last true muscle car of the era. The engineers at pontiac totally slipped the SD past the pencil pushers at GM.
I had a 76 same vehicle, it was a 400cu.in though, sold it for $600 in 1980, here in the U.K.!!!

d -port 4 bbl Pontiac's are still high-po .Big 2.11 intake 1.66 ex. , with a.c & tall gears and it will still do sub 15 sec. 1/4 mile .
