Great! Thanks, Mynda. You make it look so easy as you whiz around the settings. I don't use charts very often, so it always takes me a while to make them look good. I guess it comes with experience. You have a great voice, by the way.
Beautifully done. Would like to point out a subtle difference in the way the series labels are rendered in the graphic. Reversing the sort order of the data fixes the upside down histogram but, the series labels position is left unchanged (1:45). However, using the "Categories in reverse order" option, aligns the series labels in the same order as the histograms ( 2:05).
You can also resize non-contiguous columns - select columns (command-click on the column letter on Mac) and then drag the size of any column and all selected will adjust to match.
This is very helpful, thank you for sharing your knowledge! I am curious though, why in the second method, the bar for Females who are 100+ is much smaller than the male's bar - even though there are more than two times as many women in the category?
@@MyOnlineTrainingHub I saw the written instructions but for some reason I still not able to take the two charts and move them at the same time as you did in the video.
To move two objects or charts at the same time, click on one chart, hold SHIFT or CTRL and click on the second chart, then you should be able to move them. If you're still stuck you can post your question and sample Excel file on our forum where we can help you further: www.myonlinetraininghub.com/excel-forum
@@MyOnlineTrainingHub thanks, but what is the reason that the axis if moved to centre on first chart will overlap with the bars while it won't do so if you use 2 charts please?
@@MyOnlineTrainingHub hi Mynda! Problem solved. A work colleague off mine from the it department installed me excel 2019. Thank you for the swift reply and looking forward to your next excel video! Take care.

Really enjoyed this tutorial that I am now hooked on your videos. However, right now I cant align the two charts not easy it seems. HELP!!!
It's okay I re-checked I need to make sure the plot area is the same size. So redoing this.
So glad you found it helpful!
Hi Mynda!
Can you please tell me how did you merge the two charts together?
I didn't merge two charts together. Perhaps the written instructions would help you see the process: www.myonlinetraininghub.com/excel-pyramid-charts

@@MyOnlineTrainingHub it worked, Thank you very much!
I really appreciate it, that helped a lot.
Thanks for video
Most welcome :-)
In deleting the female and male series, the corresponding data labels for the horizontal axis remained.
Probably because the minimum and maximum axis values are not set to Auto.
Thanks for you❤
You're welcome 😊
Any particular reason why you don't move the vertical axis to the centre on the first chart and instead copy it and paste to a 2nd chart please?
The only way to get the vertical axis in the centre and not have it overlap the bars is to use to charts, as in the second example..
@@MyOnlineTrainingHub thanks, but what is the reason that the axis if moved to centre on first chart will overlap with the bars while it won't do so if you use 2 charts please?
HI there very sadly from the video I can't see what you have written to remove the - sign.. Anychance you can supply that please?
Apologies I worked it our remove the - sign thank you
Glad you figured it out 😊 enjoy.
