I lived their in what used to be called River walk back in the early 70s and went to the Bell green primary school. wow it has changed a lot. the lake you started this vid with would freeze over in the winter and I used to skate on it. I am 59 now but had good memories living their where you filmed this. Cheers shawry
Same here I remember the ice was so thick we would play on it for weeks and the boats on there in the summers, god it’s changed a lot since I lived around there
Wyken Slough used to be a family park. There was a snack bar and toilets; you could go on a motor boat around the lake. Would get crowded with families and children every sunny weekend in Spring/Summer.
Yer I lived in Longford in the late 50s and early 60 s. Remember the boats and the cafe I went to Longford c of e. School and allso attended salam chapel I now live in rugby but still have fond memories of Longford and the wyken Slough
Mate, anyone would think it used to be the garden of Eden or something, the way you are going on. It wern't that smart, and it's more or less the same now.
I can remember as a kid the toy shop , was amazing to look in the windows , Woolworths , Sainsbury’s, kick save , the wool shop by the post office it was a busy place , shame it’s been left to rot

The start of the video is nice, you can almost forget what a depressing dump you head towards.

Riley Square has become a third world shithole. I remember it as a thriving shopping precinct. It’s a concrete dystopian dump now. Depressing as hell.
