      Eddie Cobb How's your experience with the battery life so far? I want one with a 4K display but am still a bit nervous that it'll last only like 5 hours

    • @eddiecobb959
      @eddiecobb959 7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I really enjoy it. I've had it a couple months now and it's performing great. It's been a bit of a transition coming from a Macbook Air but the touchscreen and speed is pretty hard to beat.

    • @NewStuffTV1
      @NewStuffTV1  7 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      +Tom Tom I know your question is directed to Eddie, but this has been my only computer since the day it arrived. It still performes just as good as in the video. The battery life is still REALLY good for me. However, I do charge it every day before bedtime. It does get pretty hot at time and you will hear the fan kick on, but it doesn't bother me since it doesn't happen all the time. Even when it gets hot, the performance doesn't seem to be affected. Hope that helps.

      hey Eddie I really want to get this laptop for collage as it is perfect for collage and note taking and productive work. But the problem is I am scared to give up macos and break my apple ecosystem with my iPhone,mac and apple watch. Do you think the trade off is worth it.

    Just giving feedback because i've been watching a lot of these xps 13, spectre x360, asus zenbook reviews lately. Keep doing what you're doing as far as format. As someone said, i really like how you don't waste 8minutes going through the specs which everyone sees on a spec sheet anyway. Viewers just want toisee/hear about real world scenarios. Also just an fyi, if you go into cpu settings and change the cpu power to 99% instead of 100% it stops the cpu from going into that turbo boost mode which helps a lot with heat without hindering performance too much.

    By far the best thing you mentioned, which is very accurate is that the laptop is "future proof." Everything will move to USB-C/ Thunderbolt, and this puppy is already ahead of the curve!!

I do work using google drive, binge watch, household budgeting, slide shows, photo editing, and listen to music using a blue tooth speakers and head phones. It's light weight, easy to carry, tent mode is awesome, tablet mode is great for reading. My D.C Comics collection really looks awesome on the Spectre as well. +Lacey Oleksuik I'm glad it helped you out Lacey! Now as for your question... Hmmmm good for artist? It's hard to say because I'm so far from being an artist. I just returned mine after using it for a week. It is without a doubt beautiful, runs excellent and does everything that I wanted but it dies quickly when it is not plugged on charge. I did everything I can too make it last longer: power saver, brightness at the lowest, use earphones. I was also constantly surfing the web, writing a paper, with two e-texts open. No videos or streaming and it still only lasts me 4 to 5 hours. I thought I had a defective one and asked for a replacement but the best buy guy told me that it is really the approx battery life for such a powerful computer. I was disappointed because I love that laptop but it just really doesn't meet my needs when it comes to battery life.

    • @NewStuffTV1
      @NewStuffTV1  7 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @marcolopez9391

    I just returned mine, it worked amazing and I loved all those features but it REALLY gets very hot and it's noisy. The biggest problem occurred when I was making a pp presentation and the screen suddenly shut down, the keyboard was working perfectly but the display was not working. I had only used it for 20 days so I tried to ask for my guarantee and they told me it would take at least 20 days to get a new one. I have to say that HP service is terrible, that's why I decided to ask to get my money back and I finally chose to try with the Dell XPS13, wish me luck...

    Hi. How are you?. I have to buy a laptop and I love this HP model but I have a couple of doubts and maybe you can help me. The Specter x360 model of 2015 is easy to differentiate from the 2016 model but I do not know how to differentiate the new 2017 model from 2016. They are identical in appearance. I just know that the new HP has an extra ventilator to improve the laptop's heat. Are there more differences between 2016 and 2017? Is a great help to find the new model by Amazon, eBay, HP Spain (I'm from Spain) .... thanks man !!!

    • @NewStuffTV1

      +Lolo Alcalde I actually don't know about the differences between the two. But if the 2017 has better cooling, I'd go with that one. I haven't had any issue with mine getting too hot (it does that up though) but others say it's a problem for them.

    • @enessensation

      Kitty Rocoa no problem in unity and Unreal at all. but Multitasking more things is too much (Unity, java compiler, Blender, photoshop)
      but for just using the engine and java its enough

      Thanks, as I am serious considering this as a university laptop, and thunderbolt makes the system future proof, and considering it can be connected to two 4k displays and even used with an external GPU this laptop can also become a desktop system...
      Which comes to my next and last question, how does this perform when you connect and external GPU to it?

    Hi, so my model is the HP Spectre x360 - 13-w023dx. I'm looking for the right pen to use with it. Any recommendations? I need it to be very precise for engineering drawings! Thank you

    My hp spectre (the same with 15", 16GB RAM, 1TB SSD and the Radeon graphics card) gets a blackscreen after using it for about two hours.
    Only my cursor shows, but i can't do anything.
    Then I have to force a shutdown and restart it.
    I already tried the things that were recommended on the hp website, but nothing changes.
    Can someone help? 🙂

    I use mine for work and pleasure, as a marketing specialist you find yourself editing photos, videos and presenting reports to clients. All mentioned in the review points are correct and valid in my opinion this machine is a great tool. It is well build and is super light. Battery life is great for me. Although I constantly have a range of tabs opened I can work in my garden for 5-6 hours without having to charge it, whilst having video conferences and performing general admin/marketing duties. Would defiantly recommend it myself too. Good video for those that want to find some general information about this laptop.

  • @aavinmalwatta494
    @aavinmalwatta494 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    hi, I am currently looking to buy one of these and I am getting mixed feelings, a lot of people kept writing reviews of how the spectre has an extremely fragile screen that would randomly crack, and would not be covered under the warranty. a bunch of other people talked about how they were having software issues. at the same time, i love the look of it, and it looks like it has great specs, and a lot of other people seem to love it. so I was wondering if I should buy it?

    I wish these reviewers get in the habit of quoting the actual model number ( or HP Part number) of the devices they review. The link provided is for a FHD version, and people that have bought the 13 inch UHD Spectra 360 cannot get the HP stylus pen to work. So I still got no clue which model he has reviewed.

    • @vinceantonelli8381
      @vinceantonelli8381 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the reply, but after extensive reading of HP support forums, a lot of people are peeved they bought a unit that does not support the stylus.
      You need to quote the full manufacturers part number, as there are literally dozens of models. Oftentimes, HP reps will end up ordering incorrect part.
      I would still like the exact part number of the unit he reviewed.

    Great video, thank you so much! I especially appreciate hearing about your experience with the battery. I'm trying to decide between 4K and FHD display. I've been hearing that the 4K can really cut down on battery life. I don't do much video/photo on my laptop--but I do multitask a number of text, spreadsheet, and multiple website regularly. How long would you say the battery take to run down to empty from fully charged? Do you notice a drop in performance at 4K resolution? Thanks for your feedback, and keep up the good work on the reviews! : )
