  • In a heartfelt letter addressed to the “Board of Directors and Coffee Day family,” founder-owner VG Siddhartha alleges that he has been harassed at the hands of the Income Tax Department - and that he has “failed as an entrepreneur”. Siddhartha, who’s former Karnataka CM SM Krishna’s son-in-law, has been missing since the night of Monday, 29 July in Mangaluru.

    I had read about him in a book called MBA at 16, he had fought hard to create this business, and incidentally the writer of the Book was one of the cofounders of Mindtree.

      Its primarily coz of their business model. Thy r in debt coz of gvng too much concessions in d frm of cashback which has caused huge amount of loss. Nd thy r doing it just to create a habit of e transactions e commerce in Indian society.     When in the last line he says that assets outweigh liability, he could have sold CCD and lived a peaceful life.
    But there can be no denying that government is doing nothing for entrepreneurs. Small businessmen get harrassed so much, govt only focussed on politics. They want power but ignore their responsibility.
    Bhakts may criticise MMS but I feel he is the most intelligent policy maker India will ever have.

The entrepreneur s invested on their business by taking loans unaware of sudden loss in business they leaded to bankruptcy.
      Its just a start we have to go through much more after all we elected modi as our pm.

Coca Cola's valuation was based on the humongous amount of stores CCD has both in Urban and Semi Urban cities throughout India. They'd have revamped the whole brand if the deal went through- everything from new additions, PR, advertising to the menu to improving the decor and the infrastructure. Exactly what CCD's administration should've done.

    Actually no business runs in this country without improprieties because that is the only choice. Tax evasions and defaulting, diverting funds and amassing wealth does not lead to suicide like this. He might have deflected but Tax raiders only boxing him out of many is suspicious. Even with Tatas also similar thing happened when Cyrus was brought in and he was in the process of correcting lot of irregularities in the company that could exposed many and the image of Tata himself so there was a last minute management Change and they ganged him out. so many business in our country continue to thrive with years continued losses. From outside it might look like he evaded taxes and took wrong decisions and held back important informations which is what is being exploited by govt raiders to serve their interest or what they secretly intend.
