Bumper jumper is honestly the way to go. I mean how and where the controls are just make sense for Halo. Going from Universal Reclaimer in MCC and Legacy in Infinite to Bumper Jumper across all games has made my gameplay better imo.

It's perfect for everything except Reach with armor abilities, IMO. The issue is that OG Halo 2 doesn't have bumper jumper, only default, and some others. It takes a couple games going back and forth to relearn them 😂

I play every Halo on bumper except Halo 2 because it would make the button combos really weird for me

Nice yeah I found that the OG H2 controls feel better for hitting BXRs it seems. First couple games relearning I just smash everything and pray
