You're right! Referees usually throw a yellow flag to signal a penalty, but you're absolutely correct that they might throw their hat in certain situations, especially if they've already used their flag or if it's an unusual circumstance. Great catch! 🏈👀
I'm a foreigner (and not 5 lol), started watching football just a few years ago and still got every question correct without any problems. This quiz is too easy. More general knowledge about the NFL than hard questions.
Thanks for sharing! It's impressive that you've picked up so much knowledge. I'll consider adding tougher questions next time. Appreciate you taking the quiz!
Got 1 wrong got 26 wrong cause i was taught if the receiver re establishes themselves in bounds before catching the ball, the catch counts, and that's how I read the question
Well done! The rule can be a bit tricky. If a player steps out of bounds and re-enters, they must re-establish themselves in bounds before making a catch for it to be legal. It sounds like you read the question differently, and that's totally understandable. Thanks for pointing that out! Great job! 😀

If the White line on the perimeter of the field determines out of bounds, how come when the ball carrier is stretching for the end zone and touches the pylon (which is located on the OUT-OF-BOUNDS line) with the ball it is deemed a TOUCHDOWN, but when jumping to catch a pass and then landing ON THE SAME OUT-OF-BOUNDS LINE the pass is ruled INCOMPLETE???????? ISN'T THIS A CONTRADICTION????????
Great question! The difference is in the rules. Touching the pylon with the ball counts as a touchdown because the pylon is part of the goal line. For a pass to be complete, the receiver needs both feet inbounds before touching out of bounds. The pylon doesn't affect this rule. Hope that clarifies things
@TriviaQuizPuzzleHouse But, technically it is ALSO part of the BOUNDARY LINE, and as such should be ruled OUT-OF-BOUNDS. When the ball and player are in the air, which line, technically to they cross first???? Looking at the diagram of a football field (I am looking at it from a mathematics teacher of Geometry as well as a past high school football player), does the boundary line not take president over the goal line, because it is laid out FIRST when marking the field for play????? I have heard the argument that the pilot is part of the goal line, but what line are the back pilons part of?? I thought they were ALL PART OF THE SAME LINE, THAT BEING THE OUT-OF-BOUNDS LINE!!!!????? I think there needs to be some consistency here!! It sounds a lot like the question, "what came first, the chicken or the egg"??? Another intriguing angle . . . . I was watching a Monday Night Football game a number of years ago when it appeared as though , in the same situation, that the ball touched the boundary line at the axact moment it touched the pilon, what is the call then??? That particular call was out of bounds short of the goal line and time had expired on the visitors team! There seems to be a difference of opinion on this particular play with officials. Players, fans and sportscaster alike!!!
@@tedmabey1852 You bring up some good points! The pylon is part of both the boundary line and the goal line. For scoring a touchdown, if the ball touches the pylon, it counts as a touchdown because the pylon is part of the goal line. For catching a pass, the player needs to have both feet inbounds before touching out of bounds. It can be a bit confusing, and clearer rules would help. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Actually, a "field goal" is worth 3 points while a "touchdown" is worth 6 points. After a touchdown, teams can go for an "extra point" (1 point) or a "two-point conversion" (2 points). Thanks for the comment!
The football field is 100 yards long excluding the end zones. 120 yards includes the end zones. Number 3 says 100 excluding end zones and 120 including them. Check again.
@@Iputthenewforgis231 Yes, you're right! The end zones are 10 yards each. Including the end zones, the total length of the football field is 120 yards. Question #3 says excluding end zones, the football field is 100 yard. 😀
Q. 29: I forgot to add 'offense' to this question -- what's the penalty for offense holding?
10 yards for offense and 5 for defense.

Yeah I should have put "offense holding" in this quiz but I realized it's too late. Yep, you are absolutely right! 👍

I missed the question about the length of overtime. When did it change to 10 minutes?
