My favorite youtube content right now is to watch a guy read a book for three hours. Life's wild, yo.

Adam and Paul doing these is once again getting me through an illness. It makes me feel slightly better and has helped falling asleep as listening to them is so soothing. Thank You.

I actually think every minute of this stream is worth the time. Hanging out with Paul and Adam, listening to Adam rolling his dice, Adam and Paul making fun of the book itself, and just the way Adam reads the lines is just... perfect.

No hint of shame here: Adam's solo adventures are the only reason I watch Dice Friends.

As probably mentioned before, the "Steve Jackson" of Fighting Fantasy is a different person from "Steve Jackson" of Steve Jackson Games (and GURPS)

Hilariously, that Steve Jackson did do some guest writing for the original run of FF books

Adam has the best LRR content hands down, and if you disagree, you're bad at Spheda.

A&P shaking their heads at "The second coming of Bone" but not bothering to glance upward as "Cy's One-Eye Swords" flies right over. I guess gamers never look up.

You'd think that a Ninja would KNOW which mushrooms are poisonous. Not have just a pretty good guess.

A Ninja knows about the mushrooms of their homeland this is clearly far far away.

Love these books when I was young. Think my first one was 29:midnight rogue, trying to steal a gem to qualify to get into a thieves guild, loads of fun, keep 'em coming!

Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone started Games Workshop. All the Warhammer stuff.

"The ten days of rations, is a known error."
With the amount of "Your hungry" scenarios, the writer either did it on purpose to screw with the player/reader.
Or the man desperately needed a feast while writing.

I just recently played through this book, and I have to say, it's really a letdown compared to some of the FF classics. As you guys have pointed out, it is very linear story with a lot of instant deaths and quite a few inconsistencies. No wonder it is so long, considering that most of the time you have only the illusion of choice. Your character is basically a hobo just collecting random junk, and most of it is just useless. Not to mention the art in this book is just really basic and weak. There are a bunch of better FF books out there that you should try out, like Deathtrap Dungeon, City of Thieves, Howl of the Werewolf (that's a really strong entry in the series IMO, but it's not written by Ian or Steve). I also like Caverns of the Snow Witch. Still, can't wait for the next episode of Fighting Fantasy Dice Friends.

    Weren't fallout 1 and 2 basically GURPS?

    • @Drasvin
      @Drasvin 5 ปีที่แล้ว

Fallout 1 was intended as a GURPS game, but Steve Jackson Games decided they didn't want the GURPS brand attached to it between how violent and gory Fallout was and the moral panic around D&D at the time.
So Interplay just made their own RPG system with GURPS as a basis.
