I was there for this game, visiting as a neutral. I enjoyed my day, and it's not a bad little ground. I like the pub benches near the pitch, it's quirky and a bit different. My only criticism was the toilets (near those benches), they seemed to be flooded and stunk. Overall though, it's a good ground. Good luck to Welling and Torquay for the rest of the season.
Unfortunately those toilets are Erith and Belvederes responsibility as they use that side of the ground. If it's any consolation they were worse last season. I think Welling have found Eriths lack of maintenance frustrating.
Well Done Welling though, after several viewings,I still see nothing wrong with that Torquay "goal". Wonder save by the keeper and that shot hit the inside of the post Welling in the game until they took over in the last 30+ minutes and finished strong. What a clever first goal. Long (MOTM) plays it in and the scorer swings at it with his right foot and, cleverly, deceives everyone by missing the ball altogether and the ball rolling off his left leg. Neat clinching goal in the final moments and this was a battling Welling team without many key players.
Have a closer look at the first goal and you will see he hit it with his right foot, it went in from his right foot, and never touched his standing leg. You are just repeating Torquay's inaccurate bitter complaint that it had gone in off his standing leg.
@@johnnyhartley4330 Well, you have managed to be totally wrong on one count and, almost totally, wrong, on the other comment. Firstly, fummily enough,I have no interest whatsoever in what Torquay thinks so have no idea when they said that. Secondly, it's a bit of a coincidence though isn't it,tha tapparently, they said it, and I, also, said it totally independently? Thirdly. You're almost certainly wrong. Because of your post, I have just watched that segment 4 more times and at, exactly,"4.28" you can see the ball hit his standing left leg after he swiped at it with his right foot. Your apology is implied.
@@johnnyhartley4330 Further to my comment just now,I see that @ "4.45" they slow it right down and you can see and then, also, note that after he hits it, he places his RIGHT foot down first (after swinging at it) followed by his left foot, as he runs off to celebrate with us.
@@Isleofskye Look again and you will see he swung his right foot at the ball, then again used his right foot to hit the ball again. Torquay said it was a mis hit off his standing foot, you said the same, but viewers can look and decide for themself that it didnt touch his standing leg.
I only watched this because Charlie Baker mentioned the disallowed goal on TalkSport earlier, I've watched it 5 times and I still don't understand why the linesman flagged!

Well said,my friend:)

A perfectly good goal disallowed. Thank you so much ref and linesman for spoiling the game

We had players out but im not sure they were 'key' players. I cant see anything wrong with the Torquay goal so it looks like we got lucky for once.
You cant be OFFSIDE from a throw in !
Robbed
Dodgy lino, probably got a bung from the Welling owner,
