Nice "working with what you've got" removing the pivot bolts! Your modified 10degree kit looks like less work and fabrication than the actual 10degree kit, and much cheaper! In my next video I'll be installing my transaxle in my Baja. I also wanted to run the shifter thru the tunnel...I went with a 5 rib, all Weddle internals and their bus to bug bell housing and dropped nosecone so I can use a solid mount bug kit...will make for simple installation but not the cheapest way to go😢 I'm also going to cover all the options for bus to bug mounts, their cost and fabrication required. Nice job as always, keep up the good work guys!
Mine are 17 mm Allen head bolts on my rear arms. I just went down and bought a 17 mm Allen head cut 2 inches off the end and put it put it on a socket and then I use my impact.
The engine mounts to the transmission, so if the engine isn't sitting level, then the transmission isn't level. Most likely this is because the transmission mounts are worn out or broken.
@@Sam_Mebane there is a mounti plate that has two set of bolt holes. One set is lower than the other set and it is in the top set should I try the lower set I
I always thought the bottom ones were for putting some kind of guard on And thanks for replying to me I can keep a car running to get back and forth to work but I'm not a macanice sorry for the bad spelling didn't pay attention in school to late now thanks again for all the information
@@RichardMurphyMurph it sounds like you might have an aftermarket mount (like this - www.jbugs.com/product/9530.html) which does have two additional holes for a rear bumper. The stock rear transmission mounting bracket (for 1972 and older Beetles, like this - www.wolfsburgwest.com/cart/DetailsList.cfm?ID=111301255) that bolts in between the two frame horns only has two large holes. Either way, there is a small amount of play in any of the mounts. With the engine out, you might try loosening the bolts for the all the transmission mounts and brackets. Then shift the transmission as needed to make sure the engine mounting points are level, and tighten up all the bolts.
Also, that's the wrong adapter plate for a bus tranny one the one you need just has a couple holes in it at the bolts go through the motor through the transmission into that plate
It’s nice to see your son learning from you by doing the work with you. Great kid.

If you say so, this one came pre-boxed, brand new as a Bus to Bug adapter, and it's in, with a Bus transmission, in a Bug.
