Congrats, and thank you for sharing parts of your live. I have a SINCLAIR ZX80. Was my first computer, and i loved it. Was my wake up call to computers and since then never stoped, so that became my profession. But electonics was always dorment, and now i can join electronics with microprocessors and computers. Zoommss to you.
Thanks for sharing! I am finding it very interesting that several us linked by the Sinclair computers. Goes to show you, we are all old and great minds think alike :-) Cheers! Chris
CONGRATULATIONS on 10K!!!!! I enjoy your videos. Gear head car on the wall :-) Keep the videos coming. You would not want to see my desktop. OMG, Great Lakes Drag Strip. I used to live in Spring Grove IL and I raced my Olds Cutlass W30 there on the weekends. Also went to US30 and Oswago , Il drag strip. I call my first computer a Sinclair ZX1000 which I learned Assembler and BASIC on. I believe it only had 4K of ram and I remember using the REM memory for storing program data. It was my first Home Automation computer for controlling my hot water heating system in winter as some of the pipes were located in the soffits and when the temp got to 40 degrees it would turn on the hot water heat pumps to circulate the water in the pipes. Then there was the Radio Shack version of a tablet which was almost 2 inches thick, and I still have my first 8086 and 8088 mother boards that are now wall clocks. Electronics is addictive!
Thanks Donald! Another old gearhead in the crowd, AND another one who started with the Sinclairs - HOW AWESOME IS THAT!!! Sounds like you got a LOT more function out of your Sinclair that I did mine but it certainly was a game changer in life for me. Cheers! Chris
Good morning phlexy, Thank you very much for the kind words, very much appreciated. I am happy to hear that I was able to help you with your projects. That is truly what makes teaching and sharing so worthwhile. Cheers! Chris
Well done mate. Keep the episodes coming. My first PC was a Sinclair ZX made from a kit. Fortunately the distribution/repair centre was close to me in North London. Endless issues with the terminator resistor packs which didn't like too much heat, they melted!
Hello Peter, Thank you sir! I am loving the fact so many of us started with Sinclair computers, what a remarkable time to be around and experience the "beginning". Cheers! Chris
Congratulations on achieving the 10K sub level. I enjoy your videos and I've been able to "borrow" your code to use in my own projects. My first computer build was a SWTPC 6800 in the late 70s. I got my first SW job in the 60s. I have also used punched paper tape, punched cards, and audio cassettes for program storage. I have had to enter a code via front panel toggle switches.
Good morning William, Thank you very much for the kind words!!! I am glad you are "borrowing" my code, that is the joy of sharing. You certainly pre-date me with your start with computers. If I had started at that time with the "toggle Switch" programming, I probably would have run the other way :-) Reflecting back on our experiences sure is a trip when we compare today back to then. Back then did you ever think the technology would overtake our lives as much as it has? Cheers! Chris
Loved seeing the Sinclair 1000, my second computer. Back I. the day I had the 16K memory add on, too heavy to stay connected it was always falling off. Congrats!
Good morning XexusNH, Thank you! Thanks for sharing your experience with the Sinclair computer. I am amazed that so many of us have owned those. The one I have has the 16k memory expansion as well and I recall it causing the computer to crash every time you touched the computer a little too aggressively. What was your first computer? Cheers! Chris
@@MakingStuffwithChrisDeHut My first was a"Vector Graphic" that my dad had brought home from work back in the late 70's. There was no hard drive, I just had two floppy disks: One for Basic, and another for Pascal (which I never used).
@@XexusNH Wow, that is one I never heard of, just had to google it. Appears it also used the Z80 in it. Looking back, I am really glad life started for me when it did. The 70s and 80s were such an incredible time, especially for the personal computer industry.
Congratulations. Thank you for sharing your workspace and story. Your room looks somewhat like mine (only more organized) and reflects some of my own background and interests. Your continued excellent content given in such an informative and entertaining manner is the very best thanks I can get from you. I wish you further success. (By the way, my new favorite song is Phish's "Everything is Right".)
Good morning Oraflores. THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE VERY GENEROUS CONTRIBUTION! As far as "looks organized", remember I am the cameraman, I am clever enough to hide most of the mess :-) I have to look up Phish's "Everything is Right", never heard of that but it certainly sounds like something I need to start listening too! Cheers! Chris
I pay far more on things that bring me far less pleasure than your channel. As far as I’m concerned, if this bit helps you continue, it’s money well spent.
@@oraflores Well, it is certainly a very generous contribution and it does help! In fact, this morning I just ordered more 18650 cells and another charger. It won't be too much longer and multiple zoomies will be zooming around! ZOOM ZOOM! Thanks and cheers! Chris
If you like Pink Floyd, maybe you like this joke (I do my best in translating it properly): An older guy is talking to his daughter and asks if she knew Pink Floyd. "Of course", she replied, "but I had no idea Floyd was her last name". 🙃
Good morning Tomek, Your English is a lot better than you think!! I love that joke and I will have to use it - thanks for sharing that!!!! Cheers Chris

Congratulations Chris,. Loved the picture and story of the OLD Fanuc 5T control. I have great memories working with you on those old controls.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed that - it certainly was the beginning of a new direction for both of us.

Congratz, you deserve even more eyes on this channel. Your pico series was invaluable in some of my projects and i'm happy to have found this channel.
