- I challenged a head pro to a £1000 match at his own course! With big money on the line and huge local crowd following us both, this proved to be one of the greatest (and most nerve-wracking) matches I've ever played in...

I’d avoid posh clubs whose members aren’t tubers. Great concept but you need a good following of members to create the tension, which really came across in this one

@@reesbritton6623 I certainly don’t care about scoring points with TH-cam creators, but I thought the camera work was excellent.
Remember this day. This is the birth of a legendary series. You both played great. It must be really good practice for upcoming comps, getting control over your nerves. Love the format, even I started to sweat going down the last few holes 😅

This is one of my favorite Peter Finch Golf videos yet. There was the right amount of stress because it was a competition, but still you could feel Pete and Andy rooting for each other to play well. The crowd added something but wasn't so big that it took away from being able to be "up close" with the players. I really loved the touch of the on-course announcer. A series like this for charity would be epic... and lastly, you might not realize it Pete, but that putt to win the match, with its tension and importance, is in your mental bag now and that's going to help you when it's time to qualify for The Open. Well done to all involved.
Absolutely love this!!! Great idea for a series - bring it on! The only thing which I think would make it better is a bit more of an intro to the Club Pro and the course history 🙂
Fabulous idea about the intro. It felt like much more than a TH-cam video, but still kept that TH-cam character to it. This was smashing and your idea would be a big bonus.
This is a great idea. The club pro seemed like a nice guy. You guys had great banter and chemistry. Would be cool to see you both team up for a scramble against another TH-camr(s)

I live in the USA and appreciate that I can watch a match like this on an authentic links course, with live comments from the players. In fact, I turned off the Byron Nelson to watch this, and enjoyed it much more. It's much more granular and real. Thanks to you for presenting this. Your idea will work!

I'm American but that course looked like a backyard with some holes in the back...America Is way better for golf course.
@@jeffc1736 This course is representative of the way golf came to be. They didn't move Earth to make a golf course. God made it. They just put a hole in the ground.

To be honest, I see this type of video being very prominent for TH-cam Golfers. I know Good Good is looking to put out videos at courses where they have people come watch and then record a video. It really gives the TH-camr the ability to play against others with an audience, make content, meet fans, and grow the sport of golf. It's great to see!
Nice watching a serious match like this, definitely keen on seeing more like it.
Incidentally the number of times you both say mate is the number of balls I'd lose with that kind of crowd watching every shot
Soooo much better than the short challenges with mates with far too much chatter. Conditions were superb and not an easy putt on the course. Well done. Great photography and sound.
The intensity is real without all the hyping up or super editing. Even though I have no experience, this gave me the feeling of watching actual pro-tour players play live.
This was truly phenomenal content. Really enjoyed the pressure of the match. As a viewer I felt fully invested in each shot. Congrats on the W Pete and keep the series coming!
This is some of the best TH-cam golf content I've seen 👏 Fantastic match, some great banter between Pete and Andy while you knew they were both trying like bears for the win. Camera angles, sound and quality of the edit are outstanding. Superb job Pete and the team! Added a little something extra having fans there too!
I also loved the video, but the camera abeles and just camera work in general was shocking 😂 go watch Ricks new video, now that’s camera work. And I’m saying this out of love for Pete. The concept of this content was amazing, just needs new camera guys

Edit; seen the whole vid now. Brilliant editing with split screens, genuine tension. Reminded me of the old ‘Shells wonderful world of golf’ episodes .

Pete, this was by far the best golf TH-cam video ever made, I hate when 18 holes gets split into 2 parts, love these longer videos!! Shot times perfect, score board perfect, everything just flowed awesome, none of the content seemed rushed, was just a sit back and relax video, such an easy watch, well done !!!!

Really great stuff, Peter. Love the idea of you visiting good golf courses and playing the pro there. This one was as entertaining as it gets; a great match with a good guy who made sure to roll out the red carpet (so to speak). Would love to see more of these. Congratulations on your triumph.
Really enjoyed this video. Would love a series of these. By bringing in the added pressure but keeping it light is great for us to get more invested, but also good practice for the open. Look forward to seeing more.
For those thinking of going over and playing these type courses, please do! It’s an experience like no other. However one piece of advice would be don’t try and save money by cutting out the caddy. You’ll be lost over 75% of the time and wish you had employed one. I went twice about twenty years ago and still it comes to mind daily. You’ll love it.

Wow! I feel like this was a more intense watch than most tour golf...
I've never seen this particular level of golf up so close and personal. By which I mean not tour players (no offence) but top level ams duelling it out.
Challenging course obviously, but some key reminders for us higher handicappers that golf is hard, and we shouldn't beat ourselves up on the course so much.
Genuinely inspirational, in that it made me want to get straight out on the course!

What distinguishes golf from most other sports are the integrity of the players and the respect for each other. In no other game will a player cheer on his opponent (willing a put to go in for instance) or sincerely compliment a great shot. This match was another example of what golf is all about. Well done, gentlemen.

Great new series! Very entertaining and good practice for open qualifying I assume. You should combine for an episode of break 75/beat a pro at home course with Rick at the Marriott Worsely Park would be unreal!

Great video Pete and team! Aside from the tight competition I was hugely impressed with the production and videography. Best I have seen on a TH-cam production! Give your team a pat on the back and shout them dinner with the thousand pound win! Brilliant all round!

Do you know what this reminded me of, those old televised matches when the crowd walked the holes with the players and used to line the greens and stand directly around the players.. Brilliant series idea!

Great video! You got the course on a nice evening. Very little wind makes the course a completely different prospect to when you play it with all teeth baring. First time I played it, we thought the stroke indexes were all backwards, so we went and chatted to Andy in the pro shop and he said the wind was opposite to what it normally is and we probably played it at it's hardest! The wind was so strong, couldn't get a ball up on to the 12th green! Aberdovey is a total gem and if you're a Newcastle fan (or just a football fan), go and chat to the barman - he can tell you every score from every Newcastle game since the PL started, plus who scored. It's his party trick!
I’m rooting for you to hit a mil and a half followers, Peter. You’re just and always have been one of my favorites to follow.
I have so much respect for people that pretty much teach themselves and create something that is theirs and make it something very special.

You could be right Peter it could be one of the best potential series not just because of the golf played but also seeing club pros playing as most do not get to play that often. Got to say the second on the par three is also one Hell of a shot and it will also stand you in goog stead for competition golf as well as the quest.... brilliant really enjoyed it.

So many good things about the vid, a gorgeous course, and so many good shots. Mr Humphreys' sand save on 4 to get back to a/s and your sand walking path save on 12 were both brilliant shots and when you were hitting out of the drainage ditch on 15 I was reminded of Rick's amazing shot from a couple years back.... give us more vids like this good Sir

Number one, the course was absolutely beautiful and I loved how the friends of the course came out to watch the match standing on the hillside‘s and cheering you guys on. You and Andy both played very well and I loved how it was back-and-forth up until the end. I like the series and I hope that you continue it. Great work
