That would be cool, but I think they don't let you film video inside of a Casino. Maybe I can still film around the outside and the front entrance. Its a big beautiful building
Hi Tom, really engaging videos. Absolutely brilliant. I have a question about how you find your resources for teaching and how you adapt lessons using the coursebooks given to you by the school? I have just finished the course but would like to know how to adapt classes from the school coursebooks as it's not something I've done yet but would benefit from a better understanding of it. Plus, the Ukulele was inspired!
One great way is to make power point slides. You can include audio and video links in the slides too. Along with practice examples and so on. This is only useful if your classroom is equipped with a computer and projector. Other than that you have to use your imagination and make up little games. The course book will include activities itself aswell to help eat up time. Also you can trade resources with the people you work with too. And if you google image search a grammar topic and also write worksheet, you can find free resources out there on google or youtube
Cool video. Thanks for sharing. Like the ukelele class. Are you required to teach summer school? How much paid time off do you get? I am teaching in Taiwan now, but might have an interview with a school in Phnom Penh soon. Peace.
I am a guitar teacher in my home country. Do I have an advantage while procuring an English teaching position there? How can I project my music skill in cv or interview? Do reply
No its not necessary. You can do anything. Some teachers would do chess or soccer or basketball, or a book club, or art. And you can help a teacher do their thing if you dont have one. Also that was very specific to the school i worked at. Every school does everything differently from eachother. Nothing is standardized they are all unique in how they operate
Do the schools hire non-native english speakers? I'm from scandinavia in europe so english isn't my native language. Also do you recommend getting tefl certificate?
They do hire non native speakers but you usually make a little bit less salary. A TEFL certificate is required. I would recommend AVSE to get your certificate. Its where I did mine about 8 months ago - its located in Phnom Penh, you do the class with other people, in person, so you make friends. Then they line you up with a job as you complete the course. Best of all, its government accredited so its not one of those shady ones. - If you decide to Enrol, use my name as a referral : Thomas Dallan. And when you get here I will come to the orientation and give you $20 for putting my name down.
saw ur other video not the summer class. how many classes do u usually teach per day? during regular schoolyear and during summer... thanks in advance for the reply
I really want to do this but I am worried financially. I don’t not have a degree currently. How do you find it here? Are you able to save a little money each month?
I dont have a degree either. You dont need one. You can easily save 200-300 a month after paying all your bills. And if you really budget hard you could save more. I find it sooo easy and stress free to live here. Rent is like $200 a month food is soo cheap
That sucks that you and your students still have to wear masks. I see in Thailand they are still making the faculty and students wear the mask in school as well. From what people are saying in Thailand they are emotionally drained from the mask. Hopefully the masks go away in 1 year and 3 months, when I will be graduating with my Bachelors Degree.
You seem like a great teacher!!!! 🌸🙏 Definitely need more teachers like you in the world!
Loving your English class game and the ukulele class combination… very cool for your students…
Such a great and interesting initiative from you to start teaching Ukulele classes. The students seem very keen to wanna learn it too 🤗💕
You really put a bunch of effort in your videos, Mr. Tom! Can't wait for your future teaching videos. From your student from 8M, Sak
Your school looks very luxurious compared to the International school I teach at in Lao
Really wanna come teach there soon, love your videos, really shows me alot
If You're looking for a TEFL course. Use AVSE and use my name as a Referral - Thomas Dallan
You're not even drinking the coffee at 4:43 Lol
Hats off to you Tom , you are obviously someone who truly cares about these students , really nice video , Peace
Thank you Tom!
Can you do a video on Naga World next?
That would be cool, but I think they don't let you film video inside of a Casino. Maybe I can still film around the outside and the front entrance. Its a big beautiful building

Tom, another great video. Do your classrooms have a/c?

Thanks for this! Is your place hiring? 😇 ✌🏼

How can I project my music skill in cv or interview? Do reply
@@vishwarupdev4055 don’t present it as a music skill, present it as a teaching skill. Like a form of teaching experience
Is it necessary to have an additional skill to teach? I don't know much about music.

Teach between 4-to 7 classes a day, depending on the schedule. Some days will be lighter than others.
