Thanks for this! Came back to check the teleport trick because I accidentally yeeted one of my party members across the map 😂
Examine enemies
You hit it out of the park! This might be my favorite bg3 video. Humor & knowledge all wrapped up together. Nice nice work!!
😅😅😅😅😅
This video would be far more helpful if you spoke half as fast and made it a 20-minute video instead of 10. Just my $0.02.
Dude I was totally expecting a basic tips and tricks video but this is awesome, you just taught a bunch of actual useful tips to someone that has already been playing the game for 400 hours. Appreciate it!
Good to hear. I was aiming at a mix of helping veterans and beginners and looks like at least I had a few things for veterans! If you liked this one check out my other video it has a lot as well I believe!
legit came into the comments to see if someone said the same. These tips are actually insanely helpful, and I've got 200 hrs in Early Access rn lol
400+ hours in here as well and there were a LOT of damn good tips and many I did not know 💯
Very useful to refresh your knowledge from a time lapse If you are coming back from the EA to the release. Also, incredibly useful for any beginner or people like the OC that lacks experience with Larian games (most of the functions are coming from as back as the first Original Sin).
@@selunea404 Yep it feels very similiar to DoS2 but they added a lot of amazing quality of life features (Group hotkey + Group Hide are SO nice). I kinda liked DoS2's skillbar more, but I saw videos from others that the skillbar got re-worked for release compared to EA
I just really love how this game isn’t just dumb clicking and doing damage but it actually makes u think logically in combat
I miss those games tho. With a tutorial that teaches how to do "dumb click to do damage" too. It's fun and you don't need your algebra notes.
Additionally, the " ` " key (Upper left of the keyboard, usually the command console key) also highlights all characters within sight on the map. So if you're having trouble locating a squirrel somewhere around, or trying to locate an enemy in combat's silouhette, it's perfect for helping to clear up the confusion!
oh my god
Also very useful for highlighting different groups when you're playing multiplayer
Great, easy to follow vid. To add one more small thing to the mix, i find that using the dip action on a candle for extra fire damage on my bow esepcially to be huge. You can take it out of your inventory, place it, light it, dip your weapon, then pick it back up all for 1 bonus action (the dip). It lasts for 3 turns and a lot of the time you would waste that bonus action anyways.
He lists that in his other video about the basic skills
Damn this game is full of surprises
That Cat portion is so good. Larian made Stray in BG3.
That part looked really nice in 2x speed I noticed
for only 2 videos on your channel, the quality and effort put into your videos are insane! Keep it up
Thank you. I used to write reddit guides in Divinity so I'm kind of enjoying being able to express myself through video more now.
Agreed!
@@ProxyGateTacticianyay! DOS2!!!! ❤
I never played dos2 and was thinking of playing it eventually but it seems that game is ruined after bg3. What do you think, @ProxyGateTactician?
@@Deocarvalho It's hard to say. I've went back and played DoS2 probably 6 more times since having early access of BG3. I'd say it'll still be worth it when you're finished with Baldur's Gate if you want a similar play style with fun story and a lot of crazy dialogue options.
Getting my mind blown with awesome BG3 tips with nostalgic starcraft music in the background is something I didn't know I needed in life.
One small note, you can right click any potion in any inventory and to drink it. No need to move them into the character’s inventory.
Playing this game brought me back to the feelings and vibes I got from gaming as a child. Not a whole ton of info on how to play and with a decently high but not too crazy difficulty (Im on normal). Its been neat going to the net to find out what people are doing in the game (when i was a kid not a lot of people had the internet and forums were a pretty new thing) and I ive been learning a lot from other peoples play styles and having a blast with trial and error. I know Im rambling at this point, but man its just nice having this feeling again.
It's so nice isn't it! I love that it's single player so all of this stuff doesn't like force the devs to overreact FUN DETECTED style and nerf it
If you want to keep Astarion's "Happy" buff up all the time for Act 1, keep the sleeping bugbear in the Blighted Village alive. When you venture out from a long rest, teleport to the village and have Astarion do his thing while sneaking. It won't wake the bugbear up and you'll have the buff up for every fight til your next long rest. Then just do it again next time you long rest. EZ permanent buff uptime.
Oh that’s good to know I didn’t know you could do that with Astarion! The one in blighted village pretty close to the waypoint even. I’ve never used him much to be honest
@@ProxyGateTactician you really should give Astarion a chance. His story is awesome when you allow him to open up to you, and he does a lot of damage :)
omg genius.
Any reason why I shouldn't use it on the NPC characters in the camp?
@@Tilt_TM The sleeping npc just seemed like the easiest way to me, but you could probably do it your way also, be mindful that you'd have to deal with the bloodless debuff tho if you wanted to swap out your party members for quests.
The chest of the Mundane from the Magic tower allows you to store a seemingly infinite ammount of heavy items on you, as they are transformed into generic household items. I have about 30 barrels of powder that I can carry around and then use for ambushes.
Additionally, camp supplies stored here does count towards the camp supply ticker
That's hilarious and amazing! I need to get that on my next playthrough.
Just a heads up the newest patch killed the chest trick, now they visually change but do not lose any weight.
@@TamaraBloodhoofI had that bad surprise when I loaded my game after patch too ...
@@TamaraBloodhoof Wait...... Your saying that.... The Chest of Mundane.... Just made things LOOK like they were Mundane?..........
@@alexisfritts6945 In prior patches it MADE things mundane. As in the barrels or magic swords would literally be loaded as a cup when you pulled them out, and it would take a moment to revert to the original item in question. The update changed it to work as only an illusion. So yes, I get the joke, but kinda the entire point of this conversation was that there was a mechanical benefit that is no longer available.
Your videos are increadible. Apart from Aestus, I think you are the only TH-camr covering BG3, where I actually learn something and it is not just "this is what this class does in the PHB"
Is it bad I don't even know what PHB means lol I didn't play much DND. I just played an absolute ton of Divinity and the Early Access of Baldur's Gate. Had a ton of fun just trying random stuff and learning it and every time I showed a friend they'd be mindblown so I was like lets try showing others I guess
@@ProxyGateTactician PHB is the abbreviation for Players Handbook, which is the core book of fifth edition dnd. Later, we got expansions, and some of the subclasses are from other books (Gloomstalkers come from Xanathars Guide to Everything etc), but in general, the game adopted all the PHB subclasses, races, spells and feats.
Yes, I think your opinion is interesting to me, since I never really played divinity, so I know some of the dnd stuff, but none of the Larian specific things.
@@aldoushuxley5953 You gotta play DOS2 one day before you die, it's an unforgettable experience. I'm actually jealous you've never played it before because that means you still get to experience it for the first time unlike me. lol
@@Karlach_ I bought it, but my PC was just too bad and it did not work. Now, I bought a Geforce now subscription for BG3.
I don't know if the game is also available there, but I will have a look and then play :)
Any recommendations for a first playthrough? Should I play as an origin character or Tav, and if origin, which is the most interesting story in your opinion?
@@Karlach_ It was a life changer as far as RPG's went. The amount of stuff u could do in that game was unreal and now BG3 is like 1-upping it at every level. I have to agree with you
I have been constantly consuming all Baldur's Gate 3 content I can find trying to both prepare for launch and keep myself sane during the wait and you're videos have by far been the most informative. Can't wait to see more!
There is a lot of BG3 videos going around this is actual useful and to the point. Appreciated!
Good to hear, thanks Kurt
Wow. I have been watching a lot of youtubers to get ready for this game but your 2 videos have been packed with more helpful information in just 20 minutes than the countless hours i have watched of everyone else. You are doing an amazing job!
the backpack tool tip was great, i know there's a setting to not have them auto pop up on the tool bar but now i can just stick them in my bag without having to go through my inv.
It's a classic Divinity 2 trick that was good in that game, but I find more useful in this game because the toolbar feels worse somehow on this game lol
Fantastic video. Quickly running through things, showing good examples on screen, not teaching basic stuff as though it were a master skill; excellent service.
Wow the Githyanki Psyonic Mage Hand being different to (and better than) regular Mage Hand is something I never knew
It took me a while to notice too. It’s pretty interesting and I wonder if it’s intended
Summon tips were reeaaally helpful, I adore how they left a TONS of ways to solve a problem with cat jumping through bars being on cherry top
I’m curious if it’s intended or not. But it’s interesting you can’t jump through a wooden door but one with bars you could
Awesome editing and tips. Even had some in there I didn't know.
I'll watch you over all these other BG3 creators any day.
Take care friend
You're now officially my favourite BG3 channel. Wolfheart and Mortismal gave good news coverage but recently it's just been them reading out of the PHB so this is a hugely welcome and useful channel. Hope you keep blowing my mind! Can't wait for you to get your hands on the alchemy and crafting systems in game, those were brilliant in DoS2.
Crafting in DoS2 was so complex almost no one did it lol you basically needed the Wiki on a 2nd screen. But those crafted spells were game changing. The cool stuff like nails in boots and other stuff I bet 99% of players didn't ever do.
@@ProxyGateTacticianI spent so much time reading and crafting between sessions in DOS2! I really hope the crafting in BG3 is as intricate and fun! I always carried around nails in case any of us found a new pair of boots 😀
@@ProxyGateTacticianFor some things to be crafted, I feel like you had to have knowledge of it and if not it became impossible to know. Nevertheless, I do enjoy crafting in that way. It makes for very special moments since there is huge variety and in the starting levels, it basically becomes the better armor/health resource/weapon.
120h on the clock and still you found new tips for me. Great explaining amazing editing. This channel gonna be my bible. Looking forward more videos
I've been consuming a ton of BG3 content to cope with the wait for release and your videos are consistently the best content to consume, and there's only two of them so far. Can't wait to see this channel blow up.
From your other video I'd subbed and turned notifs on because you have such genuinely interesting things to say (and with good presentation). Saw the notif for this video and was like "wait who is that again" and clicked, 10/10 glad I turned notifs on for your channel lol.
You're gonna grow faaaaaaaast with videos like this where it's not just a generic list of commonly known things but rather truly neat info. Def keeping notifs on!
You can group/ungroup your party members by clicking the button below their pictures on the left called group/ungroup. You can also chain them together. Great for splitting the party (rogue scouting/sneaking, or moving the ranged characters to a high spot while the melee charge in).
This is your second video??!!! Almost 400,000 views, and so very well deserved. Well delivered, informative content, with no fuss or filler. Subbed.
Thank you!
These videos are great, looking forward to seeing more at launch!
Nice tips, man. Curious to see your next vids
Good stuff. 👍🏻
I'm an expert with 5e, but a noob with Larian games. These were great tips to prepare people like me for those differences.
It helps that I am the opposite of you I think. I'll be doing a playthrough with RL friends who know 5E, but not Larian though so should be interesting.
I had no idea about shift-C, this will save me lots of time compared to getting everybody to sneak individually...
First time I'm doing at launch is going through those hotkeys to double check if they added anymore new ones. G and Shift+C were SO much better than the way they worked in Divinity
These were so good and quick too--subbed!
I played it 4 hours and hours, and still i learn something new. Thx 4 the Vid!
PGT: "You can autoloot using spacebar."
Me, rocking out to the Terran music: "I feel like I'm _in_ a space bar."
The music is just too damn good. What can I say?
PGT is the G.O.A.T. of tips. Your creativity in battle, your visual examples, and your quick explanations are amazing man. I liked, subbed, and belled you!
Thanks man, I learned a LOT with your video! Keep having fun!
Bless the algorithm for bringing up your channel. Such a well made video, informing and entertaining. Keep up the good work :)
Thanks, will do!
Super helpful. Thank you very much for your effort! Keep it up
A tip I learned is that you can initiate a trade with most NPCs in the game (it’s not exclusive to vendors, blacksmiths, etc.). You’ll need to talk with the NPC then look towards the lower left UI and click on the trade icon. 😁
Waaaait a minuuuuute! I'm so tempted to just leave work, try that, and come back later 🤣🤣🤣 damned, now I gotta check EVERYOOONE 😬
Fantastic!
What a great video - you have put a lot of time and energy into this game and making such high quality videos. I am really glad TH-cam pit this video on my feed as a suggested video. I really hope the release of this game causes your channel to skyrocket with new subs!
You not just gave tips and tricks in a bundle, but broadened different strategies everyone can (and should) employ. This is awesome!
My favourite trick is throwing health pots as improvised healing.
I didn't know it worked with other potions too, group hastened is so good!
So glad I saw this! First Baldurs Gate gate for me and my brains still trying to get wrapped around the fact we can do basically anything! Getting to both see and hear you explain these things is great for my poor little overwhelmed brain (and hilarious, that tower of babble with boxes is amazing!)! Beyond being helpful this has given me some new motivation for some of the puzzles that have me a little stuck, thank you!
And thank you for the nice comment Plantriarchy. It was so much fun building that tower too haha
The game feels so similar to Divinity for me that it’s been a blast and quick to pick up. You’ll get there soon
Extremely well made video, plugged further information as well, music was phenomenal and added so much to enjoying learning the content. Im overwhelmed by a lot in this game but this made it at least referenceable i can always come back and rewatch to remember how to do any of these tactics. Gained a permanent sub!
Great tips in this video and good footage! You're really maximizing all the systems they built into the game. The bag with all your scrolls in it is brilliant. It's so simple, but makes life so much easier for loot hoarders. Some of the stuff you were doing in combat is mad scientist-level. I knew this game would have some shenanigans after DOS 2, haha.
Your videos are the most useful tips for BG3 that I’ve ever found
Glad you think so!
The bag tip is very useful hopefully larian or mods in the future allow us to label the bags we carry so we know whats in what without looking for stuff for too long.
In Divinity 2 they actually added it to the base game in their own "Mod" pack, but they added it in such a way it was incredibly annoying. Every single item u looted would go into one of like 15 pre-labeled bags that you could never figure out where the item went. It became a meme in the community that if you turned that feature on then you bricked your save file because it couldn't be turned back off.
@@ProxyGateTacticianhopefully they didnt get brain damage since then, and could just allow us to "nickname" a bag. Like 1 backpack says "Potions n stuffs" and the other one says "ducks and potatoes" so I can know where I'm gonna stash my potions, and ducks.
These two videos helped me out so much!! Keep them coming. Lots of tips and tricks videos. More more more
This is a great refresher for the release.
these vids are far, very far beyond the usual tips n tricks that are posted everywhere. having played BG3 from the onset, i'm floored to see that there are still incredibly useful undiscovered tips. many thanks for the work. please keep em coming.
Glad to hear I could find things for people who have been playing it long term as well.
Ray of frost is also good for putting out those fire areas. You can cast it and fire bolt right on the ground to create or remove an area. For instance, you can use fire bolt on an enemy grease spell to burn the grease away and then ray of frost to extinguish the flames.
Another great video. Many of these tips I had never even remotely heard of. Keep up the good work!
Great video dude, keep up the good work 😸
As a warlock fan, 2:33 had me ABSOLUTELY DYING. Beautiful. 💖🍻
haha Glad you noticed :)
@@ProxyGateTactician I noticed as well lol
Amazing video quality, I've watched both your videos today. Still amazed they are your first two
Thanks so much! Good to hear people are enjoying them. I put a ton of time into them to be honest.
Insane tips, that really shows how much depth there is to the game! Really appreciate that! Can't wait for ur content when the game is finally out :D Big up!
This was actually very helpful! I look forward to more!
This is exactly what I've been looking for, so many videos on what a class does or race does or can do. None of those video tell me how I should go about "actually" playing the game. Amazing work and I'm looking forward to more.
I'll try to keep it coming! I kind of felt similar to you that when I went to find videos it's usually just someone talking with some cutscenes playing and I have to imagine the scenarios, but I prefer to see exactly what someone is saying so I tried to create that myself.
Loads of awesome things in here I was not aware of, appreciated. Particularly liked the cat bomb, the chest tip (sending to camp), the mage hand cantrip stuff and how to block vents - I could not work that out at all but now know you can drag items about. Doh. :)
The only thing that might be handy that I don't think was in this video was the "Send to Wares" option on items in the inventory. This means you can go to a trader and Barter then just sell all the marked items in one shot and not have a drag and drop nightmare. That's probably obvious to most people but it took me ages to realise that this is what this was for in EA.
4 more sleeps....... :D
Keep it up man. Useful 👍🏻
That melee hit the potion on the floor is absurdo oh my god
Agreed! I don't make the rules. I just exploit them lol
This is a true tip video. All the others I've seen are talking about basic surface level content that anyone played the EA already know... you have so much stuff I had no idea was possible in this game.
Another great video. Keep em coming!
More to come!
Wow this content is fresh and extremely well made. Can't wait for more man
That's actually very useful information. Well deserved like and sub. Looking forward for your next videos.
Another tip. You can throw healing potions at allies (in a group) to heal them all up. If you just revived someone its a great use of your bonus action it gives them that much more of a buffer when they get up.
You can throw as an action, not bonus, but yes, throwing potions is fine to heal ranged.
and it's an aoe heal on top, instead of healing only 1 person, you can heal more than 1 if you bunch them up
@@imblackmagic1209yeah forgot too add that because it does take an action but 1 potion can heal your whole team to full if its a high enough level
Only healing potions? I tried this with another potion, trying to give an ally level II spell slot and it just hit the ground doing nothing.
@@ravenspe healing, poison. the spell slot one may be single atrget i.e dont let it hit the ground. honestly for spell castors just move it to their inventory, only a bonus action to use. usually they wont be using a bonus action.
Super useful guides dude. Keep em coming 🤘
Glad to hear lol I'll try
Just, wow... Thanks for so many great tips!
Wow, Tips and Tricks video thats actually helpful. Thanks!
This is a really good video with actually useful tips. Thanks for the info!
Glad it was helpful!
Awesome videos! Keep up the good work!
Thanks! Will do!
Very, very helpful!
Very informative. Will watch your career with great interest!
Dude, you're a beast! So many great tips! Keep up the good work! 👏👏👏
Glad to hear! It's exciting to put in a lot of effort and get a positive response like this.
Another fantastic video, many thanks again for all the insight and advice ❤
Thanks good to hear
Fantastic tips video!
Great videos and sprinkled with good humour. Subbed and looking forward to more content.
Really nice video! I've played a fair amount of early access, but there were some good tips in here, cheers!
Glad I could help!
Great video man thank you!
Thank you for the feedback
This was a really good guide!
Great video, proffesional quality. Thanks for sharing this video!
I think dip is very useful and is underused. Also, placing a candle or torch on the ground by your party prior to a fight and then using that to dip weapons into is a good tactic.
The second great video from you, thank you so much!
Glad to hear this one was great too lol
Bro , instantly subscribed. These two videos are so helpful and I’m looking forward for your next ones. Hope the channel grow fast for you. 🧙🏼♂️
Liked and subbed. Great content well presented!
Didn't regret subscribing, very useful tips 👍
Good to hear!
Thank you for the Video. These are some seriously good tips. I have(last I checked)370Hrs in EA and I just learned a few new things I honestly did not know or even consider. Peace
Glad to hear! I've tried to hit a balance between giving tips for veterans and also for beginners and looks like I can usually share a few that almost no one else was aware of. I'm sure you've got some secrets of your own at that many hours.
This video has useful information (things that other people did not cover seems like) but also funny which makes it easier for me to make focussed. Thanks and keep it up!
very useful and in depth!
Sir this was a great video, Super Super helpful! I didnt know about half these things!
Glad to hear it!
this is the only tips video that had actual tips in it that I've seen so far. nice one
Glad my tips were useful for you
Great video! This the kind of stuff I really want to see when I look for tips and tricks or "things I wish I knew" type videos.
Straight up, absolute best "Wish I knew" video I've seen yet; and I've watched 4 to 5 others. Of them, their 90% full of crap you learn in in the tutorial or the first hour of gameplay. This video was pure gold. 👍
Love the Sc2 music, brings memories
This is an insanely high quality video.
I didn't know any of this! Thanks for breaking down some mechanics! I can't wait for the game to go live and I'm totally referring back to this video once it does!
Top tier tips video. Well done!
Can't wait for you to make more content on this game! (Or others)
Thanks! I’ll be sticking to baldurs gate for a long time. Eventually adding in storm gate and maybe other games along the way
I put 100 hours into the Beta on release... I wasn't expecting actual niche tips like this that I still didn't know after 100+ hours of gameplay. Unreal video. Definitely favoriting this vid and coming back to it for reminders.
Glad I could help!
Love the video , can't wait for the next one.
Already working on it! It's a bit of a different style than the current ones, but I have a feeling it will still be enjoyable and still show a few cool things along the way
