    This is a steadicam shot I did and had some behind the scenes footage of it so I thought I would do a voice over describing some of my thoughts and actions. this was for a for practice. Hopefully useful for other steadicam operators, directors of photography, and camera operators as well as anyone into movie making, filmmaking, cinematography, gimbals and camera stabilizers. Shot with a insta360 one x, a (black magic pocket cinema camera 4k) BMPCC4k and M-1 volt steadicam with a g70-x arm.

    This shot breakdown is insanely fun to watch..! By the way it would be super cool to walk through any specificities about your cam setup for this rig if its particular to steadicam work!

    great job on the story telling and camera work 🔥🔥🔥. I definitely have to get a steadicam now. They way you're able to tell the story with the camera movement is crazy.

    Nice just always! :) i see it is a bmpcc 4/6k, what kind of cables did you use?
    We talked about i will buy the aero 15 finally i will go with the 30...but i dont know how the cables will working... it has just 1x hdmi and 1x dtap...One time you should make a video about cables, with cameras like the bmppcc, red, arri... etc :)

    • @SteadiRed
      @SteadiRed  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks! for the bmpcc it only has hdmi out so that will need to be converted to sdi so it can go down the sled.
      adorama.rfvk.net/AJWD7
      that box can be powered with the usbc that is in the camera or you can power it with dtap.
      is that what your asking?

    • @adambarna2326
      @adambarna2326 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SteadiRed yes, it was! And the below battery connected the bmpcc? Or just which one is closer to the camera and the below vlock just a weight because of the stability?!

      @@SteadiRed no, it was just a prototype of the arm. A friend made the gimbal part using bearings etc.. but I soon realised this is a complex engineering feat.. so I left it at that! 😂 I recently got a Komodo, and want to invest in a steadicam.. so hopefully one day! In the mean time, I’ll study your videos and ‘prepare’ 😁

    When going from a moving shot to a stop, your shot is pretty much locked. I have trouble achieving that. Any advice?

    • @SteadiRed
      @SteadiRed  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      thanks!!!
      i added lock offs to practice shots i would do. try to hold it for as long as possible. its great if you have another operator to practice with so you can take turns doing it. i also would do a lock off pointing the camera at a tv and watch a show through my monitor as i tried to keep it perfectly steady.

    • @SteadiRed
      @SteadiRed  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      awesome! i find that its rare for anyone to use a lense larger then a 50mm. i think my favorite is a 24mm. if your looking for what to practice with, i would use a zoom lense that you can go wide and do a bunch zoomed way in. it is much harder but will help you get better.
