I then included it as the first song to play in the background of a video game I made in school where you played as Master Chief in a side scrolling shooter. I allowed you switch between 6 songs on the fly but, I would always cycle back to this song lol or Murmaider by Dethklok.

Saw Budgie (BS & TB ) at my local pub in Bury ( Lancs) about 8 years ago. They were fantastic. Breadfan was the encore and I couldn't hear for days. Bouncing in front of them like a teenager. The Landlord apparently knew BS. One of my mates who camealong was a soul boy, but we didn't tell him who Budgie were. He was speechless. Grew up with them in the 70s and they were always massively underrated. One of my best music memories

The most furious in-your-face track from this fine, intelligent first gen English heavy metal band. My mate Col played this to a friend at work, who after hearing 10 seconds of it, rushed out of the building, jumped in his car and sped to the record shop to order the album! This and "Bandolier" are undoubtedly their best two LPS, but I think the acoustic "Wondering What Everyone Knows" is my alltime fave Budgie song.

Sabbath were heavy for sure, but they weren't this fast, at least not in 73. I'd say they started getting pretty fast by say, 75 with Symptom of the Universe. Heavy, thrashy, stuff. Queen were pretty thrashy in 73 as well. Queen II, anyone? Ogre Battle? The Sweet are also awesome. Sweet F.A is an incredible song. I love all these bands. Not saying one is better. The 70s were an awesome time for rock

I'm 19 and I love finding obscure rock bands like Budgie. I got to buy some albums by them sometime. Amazon's prices are a tad bit high. I'll try eBay. They had some Bloodrock on Amazon. I got their first two albums new for some $14 together. Pretty sweet!

Words can't describe the enormous influence this little known Welsh heavy metal (actually hard rock more than metal) band had on music in the 90's and beyond. I had the privilege of seeing them play live. Nothing artificial. They are the real deal, and while this is their best known song, their anthology is solid and worth a listen.

    Breadfan
    Open up your mind
    Open up your purse
    Open up your vault
    Never, never gonna lose it
    Breadfan
    Take it all away
    Never give an inch
    Gotta make a mint
    Gotta make me a million
    Breadfan
    You got it wrong
Some long time friend's gonna lose it
In the end who's a fool
    Seagull
    Give it all away
    Stay a bird
    Stay a man
    Stay a ghost
    Stay what you wanna be
    Loser
    Give it all away
    Never stay with the winner
    With the man
    With all the filthy money
    Come on
    Keep it on the side
    With a ride
On a record on the top
If you're gonna be a bad boy
    Breadfan
    You got it wrong
Some long time friend's gonna lose it
In the end who's a fool
    Seagull
    Give it all away
    Stay a bird
    Stay a man
    Stay a ghost
    Stay what you wanna be
    Breadfan
    Open up your mind
    Open up your purse
    Open up your bones
    Never, never gonna lose it
    Breadfan
    Take it all away
    Never give an inch
    Gotta make a mint
    Gotta make me a million
    Breadfan
    You got it wrong

    • @irushforth
      @irushforth ปีที่แล้ว +1

"Mommy, where's Fluffy?" was supposed to be the intro to Metallica's cover of The Prince, which followed after Breadfan on the Harvester of Sorrow single. But they accidentally put the split in the track counter in the wrong place.

    • @irushforth
      @irushforth ปีที่แล้ว +2

Also, you've missed out the lyrics from the breakdown section (which Metallica didn't sing). Ditto the repeat of the second verse. So this is clearly just a copy & paste job from a Metallica lyric website.
