Being the season for cooler weather that call for more layers of clothing please stay safe around all the pto’s and machinery, I hope you and your family, friends and subscribers have a very merry Christmas and a better new year than the previous one 🎄
I've been putting earcorn in a shell corn bin for 7 years now with excellent results, I make sure its below 17percent going in and have a bin fan, love the quality feed
That's the one thing I don't like, unloading ear corn out of a gravity box. The drag is always in the way. And every year, you have to find your favorite stick because somebody used it. I was interested in the Iowa Country Girl. Those guys use flare wagons. It looks like a good set-up. I'm not sure of the capacities, maybe 125bu or so. I don't know. I wish we had those things.
We still have our old elevator behind our barn we used to put square bales in the loft many years ago. You could have it for parts but it is located in north central Missouri. Or if anyone else wants it otherwise it will go to the scrap yard.
R you just using this to feed livestock. And I'd assume it's hard to get air through to it inside the bin that's why back in the day they stored in screen bins outside.
So what’s the story on putting the ear corn in bin we pick corn to do you just want till it’s dried down enough and it doesn’t mold ? Are you planning on turning the dryer on or can’t you with ear corn ?
Aren't you worried about mold/fungus in the bin with all those shucks? I've absolutely zero experience but just seems an enclosed area like a bin coupled with "excessive" moisture holding shucks is a concern.

Back in the seventies I was around 15 at. The time unloading cob corn It was high on one side the wagon flipped over I went What a ride 😂
1st time seeing ear corn put in a grain bin.
I miss the days of helping my grandfather picking corn and filling the crib. Then shelling the corn.
Keep them corn picking videos coming..... LOL. 😊 👍
A 3 tine curved fork allows you to stay outside the wagon. Just put thru the chute and can rake the corn down
Lots of fun corn looks great
You know what? Their is absolutely nothing worse than a gravity wagon that’s bein a MONKEY!
