Hello to Sean and Allison. I live in zone 7b and here we just leave Hydrangea outside even in pots. They'll die over winter of course but they always come back in Spring, bigger and ready .

We plan on healing-in our hydrangeas and other plants that are still being in their plastic, thin pots they were sent to us in, until we can plant them later this coming spring and have areas of our garden ready to plant them in. Yay, gardening!
