How to reach Velankani from Delhi (2022) | Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health

- Velankanni Church or the Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health is one of the most popular shrines in South India. Its a huge Church, situated near the sea shore, easily accessible via trains from Chennai, Kerala, Goa, Bangalore, etc... As of now (July of 2022) no direct train/ flights are available.
A very famous church known for its miracles! You must visit this church with your family or friends. The church compound has 3 shrines, one Basilica, an Adoration Chapel, a Counselling Centre, a Confession Hall, and a newly built mega church - The Morning Star (which has a seating capacity of around 10,000 people).
Near the main shrine you can get Holy Water, Holy Oil, Offer Mass intentions, and purchase religious articles from the Legion of Mary stall. If possible, do the knee walk on the Holy Path.

Just an advice to everyone who would like to visit Vailankanni, it always preferable to arrive at Vailankanni between Monday to Thursday to get the church pilgrimage quarters, weekends are always full.. Me and my husband want to go to velankanni. We lives in faridabad. We have no idea how to go as we didn't go anywhere by train after married
You can book a train from New Delhi to Chennai, and then from Chennai to Nagapattinam.. You will get autos/ buses which will take you to Vellankani.

There are plenty of hotels/ lodges within walking distance from the shrine. Once you reach there, you can explore based on your preference. Alternatively you can book for a room at the shrine office also.
