You raise an interesting point regarding giving yourself less time to do something. I'm still trying to figure out the method that works for me. It's hard finding the balance between quality and quantity. Personally I'm taking my time with videos now because when I uploaded videos once every three days, although my views went up my watch time didn't. So I figured unless your videos improve with every upload then uploading more isn't better. This is really a really interesting idea to dive into though.
Sneak0, Matt Davella and Better ideas take their time with uploads. Like they're in no rush. And it works for them. While you and Cole are able to produce maybe two high quality videos in just one week.
Makes me think about Slow twitch vs fast twitch muscles fibers. Khabib vs Mcgregor.

One of the issues working with yourself is that you're searching for the "most high-leverage activity" and sometimes you fall into just not doing anything.
Still haven't figured it out completely. But I hired a coach to help me with it. So now I have a "boss" but I have to pay them thousands of dollars per month instead of getting a paycheck.
Still though, it's been helpful having someone who's done what I'm trying to do who can say "these are the important tasks for the week"

The maintenance day part hit the hardest for me, for where I'm currently at in life. When you're in the middle of doing all these scheduled creative works (or would be wanting to do them), they can feel like a chore and an absolute pain, but not doing them can result in just feeling awful and, should I say, unclean.

I remember Peter McKinnon talking about it a couple of years ago, he mentioned in a podcast that - "He was the worst boss."
Meaning: More often than not, we are actually the person who treat ourselves in the worst way possible. And we think external reasons are the ones that are responsible for it. But our poor brain fails to realise that it is we ourselves who are actually responsible for it.

Maintenance days are great when you just don't feel like being creative. Do some laundry, clean up a bit, hit the park for a run, see a friend and get a good night's sleep. Always helps me bounce back to work the next day. Being self employed is a freedom most people will never experience, so don't discount all the newfound freedom you have to explore things. YOU'RE THE BOSS OF YOU! If you wanna cuddle Mr. Hastings, I say go for it.

Love the Rock Lee (Naruto for the nerds who don't know lol) reference!
It's funny how timely this video is. For someone who was in the military where you're told how to do almost everything. I noticed as a civilian how hard it is to keep yourself disciplined. The plight of choice is what gets me, I often want to achieve all things at once. But in the process of choosing that eventually leads to me not doing anything at all. Paralyzed by choice in a sense. There is a level of comfortability of working under someone, which isn't necessarily wrong. One just has to choose to be okay with the responsibility of choices, as you put it, sitting on their shoulders!

Interesting! I agree with you that it's nice to get a "quick win" in before you get stuck into the Frog for the day. I cannot just dive in and get straight into flow.
I call those tasks "maintenance" as well! I could probably batch some of them together on one day but I think for me it works better to spend a couple of hours on each day of the week doing those tasks. Thanks, Nikhil. You keep me on my toes. Hang in there, you'll get into the new rhythm of your days soon enough, although your comments are 100% valid about doing what people tell you. There's quite a lot of "busy work" when you work for someone else who directs you.

Great video like always! Just a heads up, I think you might've forgotten to put the website you mentioned at 5:00 in the description. Other than that, some great advice in this video, thank you.

Its been month since I came across your channel and the way you relate and resonate with your audience with the way you present your videos inspires me to make videos like that on my channel which is 0 now but I have a plan to grow it in the next 5-10 years. As always awesome video Nikhil.

One thing I have to do is not add a sleuth of videos to my "watch later" playlist and just watch them!
Having that said, this is a great video that was well worth the watch! Greatness will come after you choose to carry that weight, space cowboy...
