I don't do a make 9 because I can barely stick to seasonal sewing goals, let alone yearly! 🙈 Love the sound of your open ended ones, though. Hope you have a fun year of sewing ahead!
Haha yeahhhh it’s one thing to make goals, it’s another to finish them. Since I was at a 44% success rate for last year, maybe I’ll get to 66% this year 😂🤷♀️
This post inspired me to head to my pattern stash and start planning! But as I was looking, I was tripping over UFOs. This led me to decide to pick 9 projects that have been shelved for one reason or another and actually FINISH them. This way I will use what I have, “shop” in my own home, and work on downsizing my supplies as I get ready to move next summer. Thanks for the inspo!
I've also go the Elizabeth Suzan pants printed and sitting around but have finally taped and trimmed the pattern this weekend. I like the idea that they have height options (since I'm quite short) so this is one is on my list for 2022 as well! Good luck on your pants making journey - it's always a tricky one.
great idea for a make nine! i definitely think it's easier to be successful when the choices are more flexible. so many things happen in a year--it's hard not to change your mind and get distracted by other things.
Great plans for 2022! I hope you’ll eventually sew up the Pendleton jacket-I just bought a vintage Pendleton midi skirt and had no idea that there were patterns available. Thanks for the inspiration and Happy New Year☺️.
Thank you for watching! 😊 love Pendleton, so I hope to get to it someday too! I found the pattern at their booth at a sewing show a few years ago. Couldn’t resist as I love vintage style! 🤩
I used a sewing bingo idea last year and also Sewing Sudoku which came from Threadquarters TH-cam channel. I managed 6 out of 9 and have carried over 3 makes to this year .
Some impressive ideas for 2022 makes! I’m not quite that adventurous especially all in one year. I do have pants on my list. I figure I’ll actually be devoting several months to that alone🤪! Fit will be the most challenging. I have 2 Love Notions and 1 Itch-to-Stitch pattern to try. Tee-shirts, that’s another one to perfect! In the end I think my 2022 goal is to make something from all the patterns and fabric in my stash😳 🤫 😊
Doing a deep dive on one thing is a good way to do it. Pants seem like they need a good deep dive. I figure I’ll have a smorgasbord year with a deep dive in the T-shirts. We’ll see…I only averaged 44% completion last year, so Im not really expecting to do it all. If you can make everything from you stash…I bow down to you!!!!
Great idea! I have a few that's like your categories. I've never made a make 9 so 2022 will be my first one. Last year my sewing goal was to do things out of the normal..like sew a hoodie, and try new skills (that I can't think of right now lol) and also try new pattern companies.
I love that goal! It’s definitely good to make sure to try new things. I feel like I’ve been doing the same thing over and over so I’m excited to switch it up in 2022! 🪡🧵
I've never been inclined to do a make nine but every year I try to set a sewing goal for myself for example a few years ago I decided I wanted to make jeans. So that year I started with a pair of pull on jeans and moved on to a pair of button fly and I made a couple of those and then I made a few ginger jeans. The year after that I decided I needed to make a coat. So I did make a coat out of a blanket and then I made one out of expensive boiled wool. Unfortunately I chose to make it in navy blue and black and I have silver hair and my dogs have light tan hair so you can imagine what my boiled wool coat looks like. My goal for the coming year is to conquer knits. I have a serger and I bought a cover stitch machine that for some reason terrifies me. But I am determined to make myself the perfect t-shirt.
Lol about your boiled wool coat 😂 I have a black sweatsuit that I wear around the house and the grey cat fur…omg! Then, I went and bought a gray sweatsuit, so at least I wasn’t lint rolling every five minutes. Knits…you can do it!! 💪
Love your make 9 plans - I'm also on the hunt for a TNT t-shirt pattern so can't wait to see what you find! Can I ask where you got your Pendleton 49er jacket pattern? I can't seem to find it anywhere (at least not where they deliver to Australia). Thank you!
I bought mine in person at a sewing expo from the Pendleton booth. I looked, but couldn’t find it either. I wonder if they don’t make it anymore 🙁 you could try emailing them maybe. Sorry….I hate when I like a pattern and then can’t find it 😫
I like the idea of categories instead of specific patterns. I change my mind too. 💜🦋
It will definitely make it easier when I get distracted by new patterns and fabrics!
Easy knit: fingerless mittens-knit flat and seamed up (I usually knit them in the round but I love using double points...)
Great idea! Thank you!

That’s a great Make 9 idea! I love it! You will feel so good if you accomplish it too…or even if you just finish one really! 💫
I love that.

Thank you and you as well! 🤞 let me know how they come out! I am looking forward to making that pattern, love the style!

Absolutely!! 🙌
I like your list. The categories leave room for inspiration.
It really does! I don’t want to be tied down 😂

6 out of 9! Great work!! I’ll have to check out the sewing sudoku…sounds very intriguing, haven’t heard of it!
@@WanderingBobbin #sewingsudoku and #sewingbingo, they are fun planning grids.

I would LOVE to join the Make Nine for 2022, but I have no dress grade fabrics. Time to start shopping!
That is a very exciting prospect!!!
