Saw this band in 1965 in Weymouth. Me and 3 mates ,young mods, aged 15 went to Weymouth for a weeks holiday , less than a year out of school. What times we had . Brilliant band. So many great bands around then could go somewhere any day of the week and a band would be playing . Great days . This recording is superb by the way.
I wouldn’t second guess this being from the 60s but the fact it was recorded in 2011 is quite insane. I’ve never heard a modern recording sound so like vintage. Ali’s voice is still amazing as well
I've got the 2005 "Rare Birds" compilation. This wasn't on it, unfortunately. Apparently, this only surfaced in 2011. I'm so glad they found it. It's great! (It's still fun, though, to see them perform it in an abbreviated form in the Deadly Bee.)
Bill Prichard this is not the original 60s version but a new recording from 2011 by Ali McKenzie and the Small Fakers based on the original but the result ir pretty decent.
I think they had to record it in some way or another to mimic playback on Deadly Bees at least, so an acetate could be sleeping down at Decca archives who knows...
I got burned by buying that stupid Birds box cd and this song was the INCOMPLETE version from that dumb movie! who wrote this? oh wait! this is a remake! never mind

The drumming on this is insane.

The Deadly Bees brought me here.
Great rock classic by the british singing group; the Birds!
The only thing wrong with this was the group didn't smash their instruments at end of scene of "Deadly Bees". Otherwise lovely rage.
one of the first bands for Ronniw Wood
This is actually better than the original!
Nice to complete the archive with missing ones of me thunderous Birds
MST3K brought me here!
Grande banda MOD!

Thank you! Boy, it's a really convincing reproduction. What a shame the original Birds never actually recorded it 'cause it smokes!

Wouldn't that be great!
Main problem is that there'll be two or three in excess!!
GREAT!!!!!

it sounds really great exacly like in the sixites... I wanted to buy the single but it's 60 eu! :(
yep, bit expensive nowadays. about 8£ when it came out.
This believe it or not was left unreleased. I'm glad it was finally released.
Two things are good to hear in British bands of the time, choppy guitars and power chords.
