Probably one of the most atmospheric boss fights ever. Takes place in a dark damp room. The clanking of his suit and the only source of lightning coming from the flamethrower, all to the tune of 60s era mood music.. And thats just the 1st half...the second half when he gets angrier, the music kicks up to 10..
i feel like the music here is absolutely perfect at depicting the fight, the quiet sneaky music with loud blaring of trumpets sort of representing the fury shooting his flamethrower, then going back to silence. it's perfect

The pain was easily the hardest fight for me. Ive played this game atleast 10 times and i still suck at lobbing the grenades at him. The fury u just stand there with the sniper

I can relate. Never had difficulties beating him lethally but non-lethal was a pain in the butt. Got really angry cause i continued like 20 times or so :D Fitting name for a boss for sure
@@SuperDeadmaniac Fury is EZPZ if you go lethal, if you land a couple knife combos he's toast. Probably the least intutive thing to do against a guy with a flamethrower, but it works, lol. The Boss you just need to get the counter timing right, I found her rather easy to beat.. But everyone has their most hated Boss I guess :D
This boss really made me feel like it's MGS1 all over again, given the easiest way to beat him is to just shoot in his direction without needing to aim via 1st person, and his clanking and tight corridor fight mirrors that of Vulcan Raven's fight
The Fury reminds me of Raven in terms of the boss fight. An enemy with an overwhelmingly powerful weapon that would annihilate you in a second if you fought him head on.
When I was doing a Foxhound run for this game, The Fury was perhaps the hardest for me. I was scared I wouldn't be able to be the whole game in under 4 hours for the rank so I decided to not pick up The End's rifle so all I had was the Mk. 23 pistol and i failed this fight over and over because you can't take more than 5 health bars of damage (I think) so basically when I would run out of life medicine I would've already failed because I would have sustained more than 5 bars of health. However there was one MAGICAL run where I just got VERY lucky and sniper The Fury out of the air with the pistol and the cycles I got were just godlike. I was already frustrated but I decided to carry on so I probably woulda just quit if I failed more. Hehe. I do like hearing The Fury yell, "SON OF A BIIIIIIIIITCH!" When you damage him enough. Lol My final time in the run was 2:27:07 so basically I tortured myself for nothing. XD Then after obtaining the Foxhound rank I was like, "Yay! MGS2 next!" Couldn't even get past Olga. I just couldn't get her patterns and she kills in like one hit! I just got tired of hearing Otacon yell, "Snake, respond. Snake? Snaaake!" So I ended up just giving up. Like l
Also there a series about MGS2 big boss run and or MGS3 Foxhound made by James Howl on youtube. He adds a lot of interesting strategies to areas you may not know about.
Did a BBE run and yes can confirm he's the toughest. You can get crazy rng with him sometimes. Also mgs2 is much harder, but Olga is probably the hardest boss besides the harrier on extreme. Please go back and try her again, if you can get past her you can beat the game.
@@Ashton__Kusher I actually got the Foxhound rank in MGS2 and it was a TOUGH RIDE. I did that about a year and a half ago. It was a wild ride. Couldn’t believe I was still playing these games for my own personal sense of achievement years after I left my first comment. Lol And the Harrier isn’t so bad, not even Olga is that bad once you get the cheese strategy. Fatman was the most annoying for me, personally.

Disarmed the first bomb immediately then hit him a few times then did the second one, then I killed him before he could plant a single one again. Toughest part was having enough ammo to spread out stunning him.
@@Ashton__Kusher I remember my Fatman fight was way too close. I was damn near out of bullets for the Socom and with the last bullet, I knocked him down the the M9 finish. Jeez, it was awful. Lol I remember the Ray wave fight being very long and tedious. Was it 20 or 25? My gf was watching and I was just doing my typical Ray strategy and I was literally just talking to her while I did the robotic pattern until it was finally over. Lol And Solidus was a joke, I was just enjoying the fight and the Foxhound rank after I defeated him. She was funny, she asked “So do you feel more complete now?” And the answer was a resounding yes. I wasn’t able to get Foxhound as a 14 year old, but I was able to do it as a 21 year old. Man, two years later and I still haven’t forgotten how to play MGS. It’s my favorite video game series of all time.
This was a weird fight for me. It comes out of basically nowhere, and after the Pain being super cheesable, the Fear being a pushover, and the End being such a battle of patience and wits, this fucker... well, "caught me off-guard" is an understatement. Towards the end he turns damn near inescapable if you don't figure out how to trick him.
I must confess, I use other video game OSTs while playing as different characters in LoL. Jhin got this one. Not sure why, but I got used to it quickly. (Maybe the counting. Jhin counts to 4, The Fury Counts down from up to 5)
Futhermocker is largely weak against front shots along the lock-on function. Which is the most overlooked if-not difficult skill the game demands up to that point. I'm not surprised most experienced players have it rough for a speedrun with this juggernaut flaming our asses off.
@@Biozene I used the knife in my first play as suggested by Codec. Very effective! Last time I beat the guy was in a Mk. 22-only challenge till the end. For anybody wanting advice in a similar endeavor, it worked for me with the lock-on function.

Doing a 360 it's a perfect technique to turn off the fire .

@@FistofSpirit there is a instant healing item but it is VERY rare to find trough my gameplay i only found 3 of them

The Fury for me was one of the easier bosses I thought. The Boss herself was the hardest.

It's more because he's spotted you that the music changes. Once you get the drop and damage him then the music changes.
