@@kensmechanicalaffair No no, my friend, even some artists used to name their synthesizer sounds with physical nature elements, for example, library music used to. Like this one: Shining Ice by Paul Williams (1986) th-cam.com/video/dahfP6-1j9w/w-d-xo.html When I listen to this, in my mind I can visualize kind of cave with ice cubes shining and melting. It's incredible how every element has their own sound according to them and you can make a mental journey to landscapes. The power of music.

Me in "85" getting divorced and heartbroken, listening this song and all of a sudden, here come the tears again. Strange how some songs trigger memories that you thought you got over, 36 years ago.
Time truly heals all wounds. Some take even longer than 38 years. But mine took 29 years. Sometimes u got to say F**k it and just let go , move on. Every minute that goes by, is another minute closer to us NO LONGER being alive.
Hal Newell This isn't hell. Listen to the amazing new band Chvrches. They make amazing synth pop. Lies is my favorite song to come out since the 90s. Their whole album is good.

@chicken Gorge I saw T for F in concert, about three years ago, in Nashville. They were touring with Hall n Oates. They were so good in concert. I thought better than HnO. I would go see them again!
@chicken Gorge Radio just announced that Mary Ann from Gilligan's Island passed away today. Dude, that's like my first t.v. crush.
@chicken Gorge I know that Ginger is still alive. I think that's about it.
Please bring back the 80's. Best decade EVER!!
The lyrics "I'm only human. Born to make mistakes" is just sang so perfectly and with so much soul. It hits so hard
So is "Of flesh and blood I'm made" Damn!
Love the way she sings, “I am just a man!”
It's sure does great meaning and beat
Also, "While we were apart, I was human, too."
We wouldn't be human if we didn't make mistakes.
This was the best decade for music. Absolutely beautiful ❤️
What a pretty breathtaking woman ,hello my darling
I would say the 60s and 70s were great too. After Mid 90s .. music went horrible
I completely agree. I was young with a lot of the music but I feel like I remember it like I was older. 80s had the greatest music across all genres
Sure was music has alot of heart and soul.
Absolutely
My young daughter has discovered this era of music and has fell in love with it. I'm comforted in the knowledge this genres will not be forgotten.
Parenting goal!
Good for her!
This was more my parents genre and era but I love this stuff, Michael McDonald, kenny loggins, Marvin Gaye, light house family (but newer I know) and my main music of choice is hip hop.. work that one out 🤣
I think music from the mid-1950s to the mid-2000s will never be forgotten or duplicated. It was simply the golden age of the 4th art, period !

Brings tears to me eyes how good things used to be. Even the hard times back then were better then the times of today. TOTAL NOSTALGIA RIGHT NOW. The memories that are flowing in my head. 😔
I agree rays6741. Our country is being stripped of everything. Damn the eighties NEVER had this schit! What is going on now. Funny it is all Bidens Fault and the Democraps. Really! We must get them out!

One of the best songs I've ever heard.
This song sounds like a Black R&B song 🤓
This in my opinion was Human League's best song ever.

The best time of my life a job I loved great friends we were out on Friday and sat nights drinking and dancing and having a great time please take me back ❤
I agree 👍👍
Nothing can compare , 80s music is the best.
Born in 64. I agree. 80s had the BEST music!
Human League , Spandau Ballet , Depeche Mode , ABC , Tears For Fears , Maddona... thats just a few .. nothing like them in this day
I agree with you...please add also Bon Jovi, U2...hoooo my God
I hope the younger generations take note and somehow keep this type of music alive
I’m of an age where the 50’s, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s all still find a place on my playlists, but every generation has it’s day. Where I think music lost it’s way in the 90’s, there are still songs that I like and that applies to the 2000’s, 2010 up to today.
We saw Spamdau Ballet a couple of years ago. Still rocking. Howard Jones too.
@@jeffkramer3232 I'm definitely into mostly 80s and 90s and some 70s but occasionally I find songs from other decades I like
There is no other decade like the 80s. I feel blessed to grow up in this era. This music definded the way I listen to music.

Class of '85, Kick It Live! I can't believe it's gonna be 40 years way too soon! The song structure, that beat, those gorgeous, iconic DX Heaven chords! It's August, 2024...A timeless, pure 80s pop classic...Thought ya knew this was a Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis joint! Long live the 80s!

Everything Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis touched turned to gold.
+Lisa Taylor This song is classic and there are plenty of ppl out there who don't know who produced this song. the same ones that sang background for Morris Day and worked with Janet Jackson and many more. js
Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis...worked magic back in the eighties. :)

80s melodies are heavenly
Those 80s keyboard lines that emulate kind of crystal, water, ice, wind, light, electricity and fire sound spectrums.

No no, my friend, even some artists used to name their synthesizer sounds with physical nature elements, for example, library music used to.
Like this one: Shining Ice by Paul Williams (1986) th-cam.com/video/dahfP6-1j9w/w-d-xo.html
When I listen to this, in my mind I can visualize kind of cave with ice cubes shining and melting.
It's incredible how every element has their own sound according to them and you can make a mental journey to landscapes. The power of music.

Was a teen in the 80s.. wouldn't have traded it for anything. No cell phones. No social media. True freedom.
💯💯💯 facts, life was happier times, we could go out and have a good time, no problems, now you might not make it back home 😒😒, so sad
I was a teen in the 80's as well. I am 53 years old and the 80's were the best!
When I said I'd meet you somewhere you have to trust me otherwise I would have stiffed you. Depended on payphones to assure the parents I wasn't out doing psychedelics. I couldn't imagine living know as a teen. Such a cell....phone.

So true Monica. Good times.
I remember growing up a little girl listening to this song and I fell in love with it, as I loved George Michael, and so many others. Still one of my favorites to this day. It's one the songs within my Pandora's playlist. I don't even bother with the new music. I open up Pandora and select an 80s artist and I listen to it all day. The 80s were the best!!!
My sentiments exactly. I think most people are like that. They tend to listen to mainly the music they grew up with. I honestly couldn't name a single song and the artist on the charts these days.

Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis were/ are masters of their craft, and the vocals are perfect too. This is one of the greatest songs of all time.
True, these 2 masters were both from the school of Prince's music ... the Minneapolis Sound.
🎯
Those two producing music even last couple decades would made things like updated 80s w/o uncommon sense Hip Hop words.
They had their own sound. Janet new edition etc
Who knew a New-wave Pop Band from Sheffield, and Two R&B Writer/Producers from the Midwest, could create such Magic!?!?!?!?!?!?!
And somehow, they made it work, right? Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis were awesome producers!!! The '80s was the best decade for music. So many memories this and others brings back...:)
Sunny Tyler Lfo boy band made song called baby be mines on there first a album 1999 .. there where from river falls Massachusetts...they sampled human league song

More lyrics..
Come on baby, dry your eyes
Wipe your tears
Never like to see you cry
Won't you please forgive me
I wouldn't ever try to hurt you
I just needed someone to hold me
To fill the void while you were gone
To fill this space of emptiness
I'm only human
Of flesh and blood I'm made
Human
Born to make mistakes
So many nights I longed to hold you
So many times I looked and saw your face
Nothing could change the way I feel
No one else could ever take your place
I'm only human
Of flesh and blood I'm made
Human
Born to make mistakes
(I am just a man)
(Human)
(Human)
Please forgive me
(The tears I cry aren't tears of pain
They're only to hide my guilt and shame
I forgive you, now I ask the same of you
While we were apart I was human too)
I'm only human
Of flesh and blood I'm made
(I am just a man)
Human
Born to make mistakes
(Human

This song is simply beautiful. It encapsulates what it means to be human.
Really? Wouldn’t you say that most humans spread ugliness rather than beauty? I mean, take black culture for instance.
Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis’s production is all over this song! You could easily see SOS Band, Alexander O’Neil, Cherrelle, or even Janet Jackson singing this song. Greatness!
what about New Edition or Michael Jackson? or imagine him beatboxing to this!
exactly ✊️😅
Boys ll Men did a remix of this too. I still prefer the original artist.
Yep. Classic sound and top tier production quality from that time period, which influenced so many genres of music.
Yep 100%
The sound quality on this song is crystal clear!
Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis produced it, known for Janet Jackson's album productions. You can really hear their influence here.
Every decade has their problems but life before the internet, social media and the god damn phones was REAL. Face to face human interactions. Creativity was at its best in the 80s. That's why the music was so good. Now everything is fake. Boring, zombie phone addicts everywhere you look. I am so tired of comments like 'don't romanticize the past.' If you weren't there you have no idea what you're talking about...
Yeah, everything is so real back in the day and now with that AI trend shit, everything seems completely fake and unoriginal.
