Some of us are lucky enough to have lived during that time and understand that the dream of that time is so much more ellusive than anything worth desiring today. Today most artists aren't willing to allow for any sense of true emotionality and longing. It's out there. But definitely not mainstream like it was then. It's like trying to catch the wind.

This song sounds so fresh and clean and just makes you think damn we lived through one of the most amazing times there will ever be, no Internet no cell phones, back when people interacted, face-to-face if you wanted to talk to someone you had to call them and if they weren’t home, you didn’t get a hold of them until they got back or you had to go to their house. The 80s and 90s were amazing and we must always remember them.

No no, my friend, even some artists used to name their synthesizer sounds with physical nature elements, for example, library music used to.
Like this one: Shining Ice by Paul Williams (1986) th-cam.com/video/dahfP6-1j9w/w-d-xo.html
When I listen to this, in my mind I can visualize kind of cave with ice cubes shining and melting.

I'm a 44 year old guy, and 80's music is almost the only thing I remember about my childhood. I have little to no recollection of daily life, other than I was sad. Sometimes, it makes my eyes well up, and I don't know why. Once in a while, I remember something trivial or inconsequential when I hear a song, and it stops me dead in my tracks. It's my favorite genre.

+flirtwithapokerface You are preaching to the choir! It's a great testament to many of the 80s artists that after 30 plus years, many of the songs they created are being used for commercials, film scores, and being sampled by new artists who don't have have the "divine" talent to create something of this caliber. I am glad I lived through the 80s as a teenager. Amazing time for pop music! This song is just amazing! Great subject matter, beautiful vocals and harmonies, along with just the right production value. Flawless! Thank you Phillip Oakley and other band members for an amazing song. Enjoy! Cheers, Sam.
