@@minminnnn oftentimes when shows are being made, they write female characters by how men see women, so they'll objectify/s*xualize them really badly, as a way of catering to a male audience. That's what the male gaze is. But bc this show is centered around giving good representation and is not just about giving fan service to creepy men, it's free from those weird restrictions!

it's also free from the sexualized gaze you see so often in other media depiction MLM relationships like BL manga/manhwa as well which is super refreshing. I really, really love the direction the show and the graphic novels have gone with their representation, it's so precious and wholesome :)

Honestly the amount of pure golden retriever puppy energy Nick radiates makes me smile every time like wth
Nick is so direct and vulnerable and his hugs look amazing, would’ve changed my life in high school
Every single actor and actress ate their roles up! Now when I go back and read the comics I picture them. They really brought these characters to a new life in a beautiful way and I need season 2 last week
As a person who's afraid to come out as pansexual and genderfluid to my family because of their mindset that got stuck in the 18th century and hasn't developed since, this show gave me a lot of comfort, especially the scenes of Nick's character development when he began to feel like he wants to come out, even though pansexuality was never mentioned in this show. Seeing him come out to his mother was such an emotional moment for me and I was really happy because she accepted him wholeheartedly, but it made me sad at the same time because my family will never understand my sexuality and gender.
With that being said, Heartstopper is my new favorite show now. It really accurately portrayed everything Queer people go through. The scenes filled with homophobia was hard to watch, but it's the reality I've also faced in personal life, so to see it being shown perfectly well made me literally cry. It's not often we get a show that has accurate portrayal of what LGBTQIA+ people go through.
I'll probably rewatch Heartstopper more than ten times. I'm so happy. This is adorable, I can't put it into words well. Nick and Charlie are just great. I hope there's season 2.

They literally changed minimum in show. It was literally what I expected. Of course they couldn't go to Paris but when you consider how most of the things in show was same in the comic and how similar the actors looked like their characters it doesn't even matter. I've been in the fandom since the end of 2019 and seeing Heartstopper coming this places makes me so so so happy.

This show was huge comfort for me, I'm a bi teen who keeps second guessing themselves, I keep thinking if I just find women pretty and nothing more but I know I definitely am bi, I'm just scared to accept it I grew up in a religious family that always taught me lgbtq is a dirty sin, and I kept believing that till I saw so many more like me including my friends then I realised it's a beautiful thing to be able to love, nothing about it should be a sin. I saw so many of my struggles in nick, especially the google searching of "am i gay" that was too relatable I had to pause, this show really reminded me I don't need to figure it all out rn and that love has no restrictions
