The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors set a goal to create 10,000 affordable housing units and place them in all areas of the county. The Somos Development will bring 231 new housing units to Tysons, an area not ordinarily associated with affordable housing.
The new community will be walkable to the McLean Metrorail station and less than a 10-minute walk to Tysons Corner Center via the new pedestrian bridge spanning the Capital Beltway. It is also located within the Tysons Urban Center, which is a major economic hub in Fairfax County.
Located at 1750 Old Meadow Road in McLean, the new homes will be reserved for households earning between 30-60% AMI. Affiliates of SCG Development are leasing the sites from the Fairfax County Redevelopment and Housing Authority, and the ground lease will ensure long-term affordability for 99 years. Somos at McLean Metro Phase A is expected to be completed and ready for residents in Spring/Summer 2026.
