  • I working my way through all the Christmas unboxings. This was a stocking stuffer I received. It's a teeny tiny microphone that's designed to work with mobile devices. I unbox it and try it out.
NOTE: all audio clips are direct into the camera with unity gain and no effects.

That's so cute. Surprisingly good. It seems to top out pretty easily so you'd have to get the distance right.

Yes. I was surprised by how much gain it has. It would probably work really well for ASMR stuff.

Thanks I can always use more mics, especially for small items that wouldn't work with other mics

At the end it sounded like you were making an ASMR video.

It looked like a toy at First but ... Did a decent recording actually
Maybe not as a professional Mic but, well, when we look something so tiny to buy generally It sounds like a 2 Penny toy.
This looks interesting specially for capture sound effetcs

how does this mic compare with the iPhone built-in mic? i have a 14

I don't have an iPhone 14 to compare it to but I can tell you it's more sensitive than the mic in the iPhone 12.

Does this work with an iPhone if so how does that work because mine is currently not working at all

I used it with an iPhone 11 in this video, so it does work with an iPhone. You'll need a TRRS to USB-C (or Lightning depending on the model) adapter to be able to plug it in. Unfortunately, none of the newer phones (iOS or Android) have TRRS jacks.
