You should make a list of the best fake claims for every evil role. This would be insane for the new and intermediate players. (Not because i need that)
To be honest it really depends on your coven team and how town is playing. Like wildlings are usually LO/Tracker will but you shouldnt claim LO or Tracker unless you’re planning on also confirming your coven and not so much confirming the townie coroner. Learning to fake claim is just going to have to be learned from how roles work, whos on your team, and how passive is town.
I don't think fake claims have as strong of correlation with your actual role in ToS2 as they did in ToS1, just because invest is different, and most evil roles (outside of a few coven roles like poisoner) don't have a great way to imitate a town role. And when you do, like with WW, people know it and don't trust that shit.
Here's one I often think about: The game hinges on voting power. So if you're a town role that can kill, you have a lot of ability to secure a win for your team by increasing your voting margin and potentially getting rid of a killer. But you ALSO can ensure a defeat by offing a friendly voter AND yourself in the process. Few shots are 100% sure things, but gamble wisely. Or don't even take a gamble at all. If you're not fairly sure, it's better to let your power go unused (if you can), than to do two nights of the coven's work for them.
This game is TOUGH for new players to get into, so im really glad you made this. Sometimes we teach a lot about advanced strats and forget new players need the basics. (Not just saying this list is purely the basics it gets more advanced towards the end but point still stands)
I've been watching Pipe's videos for a couple months now. I thought I was all-knowing until the game whacked me in the head with my first ToS 2 game being as Doomsayer. I had a terrible time as Doom. Being Coven was nice, though. I haven't gotten Town Power at all yet.

As "backing up teammates" goes, being able to sow any amount of doubt _at all_ in a claim can be helpful. I was in a game as Illusionist where I managed to get my Coven Leader out of being lynched on the day they decided to disempower their offense--they got _roleblocked_ and the Tavern Keeper outed themselves as the one roleblocking. CL had killed a basic defense NE on N1, so town kept going "it's coven leader, it's coven leader game"; for a while, I'd pushed Enchanter as a counter possibility hoping to sow distrust in TI results; in that moment, I pivoted to "it's a CL game and they're empowering offense, they can't be roleblocked" and _got the CL off the stand._ Rit dumped the Tavernkeep into the trash that night and we went on to win that game.

Say it again. I just finished a game as SC where I kept scumreading Coven members and pushing them while the Bers and Pb kept silent and they both kept inno'ing literally every Coven that I found. Like if one of your team-mates is making a push then please just follow them unless they're trying to do something stupid like getting a confirmed player hung or defending someone who got checked by multiple investigators.

It seems to all boil down to one basic concept: "Pay attention to the situation at hand" I played a decent bit of ToS 1 and always noticed that people who were distracted died or were hanged pretty quick, but if you put your full focus on the game, more often than not, that was enough to get close to a win Unless you got Medium Then you always died n1

About whispers i had a funny game the other day, i was pros, claiming psy, and asked people for roles, one of them whisper me tpow, a few second later i see 2 people whispering followed by a Conjurer comet, i then proceed to pros the track claim that whisper another guy. He was wildling, the day after we hanged the conjurer.

Funny enough I picked up these 20 tips and tricks from simply watching PipeTron but it's great to see it all in one video! I see so many players not post as TI without a good excuse or not claiming right away when I jail them when they are town(they claim tp or ts sometimes).
As executioner it can be okay to say your target is inno, in this game since you can pick a new target if they die if they look like they are town with a claim that could get you voted first it’s better to just wait for them to be killed and then choose a target that’s much more likely to be guiltied.
Nice quick infos even for someone like me who played the Game for a little while now. I only say the Jailor Tipp is a bit... weird. I say and will always say "Hey" or "Hi" when I get jailed, bacause I am a polite person. :)

Typically it's 'hi' followed up by literally nothing important that gets people exed. If you just say 'hello' and post your full will it's less likely to get you exed
Honestly, when I’m jailor, I don’t mind if you say hi or just chat so long as you give me your role and will first I won’t necessarily reply since I’ll be going through the chat and whatnot, but being polite first kinda just wastes precious seconds unless you’re *immediately* following it with the info I need (ideally in the same message)

as someone who was uncertain about starting and was mentally exhausted his first day, i feel pretty comfortable playing games now. just learn the game and practice, and remember to not take things personally or become too fixated on winning. sometimes, when i get a hard role, i go in expecting to lose but try my best anyway. if i lose, no hard feelings. if i win, i get a pleasant surprise. i actually won more NK games with that mentality than tryharding
In my view, this version of the game is a lot smaller-brained than TOS1 was. You can still do some deduction... but mostly it's gut checks and waiting for a Town Investigator to claim he found an evil. If you just focus on what your role does you'll be fine to start. It's a team game in the end, and just doing your job is often good enough to let other people do theirs.
I've made a server on Discord that recreates town of Salem, along with a bunch of custom rules and stuff. It's mostly just for my friends, but they are pretty inexperienced in town of Salem. I would love to see another one of these videos that goes over more complex and nuanced stuff so I could show them it. Definitely showing them this one though! Great vid in general.
This was a great guide! I got hundreds of hours in tos2 and could still improve on some of the stuff here. Sometimes, I'm probably a bit too quick with jumping the ship and bussing teammates. Am too afraid of being scumread and outed for defending too hard, so the moment the teammate looks like someone I'd lynch as a townie I'll hard push them. I won't do it if we can push for majority on the following day or they're about to win as death, but if they were found sus by sherirff n1 and slow claimed I don't wanna be associated with that.

Not sure I completely agree with the 17th tip, but other than that yeah the others are very important. I've been accused of cheating as Doctor because I healed someone every night from N2 on, simply because mafia was attacking LO and TI. Predicting who they attack is very powerful. Having said that, evils can fake TI sometimes, so you might end up healing an evil.
I remember a game where me and another vigi acted like we would shoot eachother in whispers and baited coven not to witch us, unfortunately however we both died to killing silent townies day 4
If i had to say one thing. Know how your role works and the important interactions. Can't tell how many times I have been lynched at the start or someone else has because a person did not understand how a role works. Understanding how a role works can help catch many people in their lies. In some cases, this has even gotten me lynched while lying. Townie didn't understand how a Amnesiac worked, convinced town I was guilty, and got me killed. All this because someone didn't understand that amnesiac PRIORITIZES town power roles not REQUIRE town power roles and did not understand if there are two amnes going for the same role, one amne will not get it. And while I was evil, other times it can be very frustrating trying to explain, while on trial, how the role actually works. Just makes the game way less fun. And another note on whispers: I was doomsayer, and I had guess a veteran and vigilante because they announced their roles. All I needed was on more. Monarch knighted a town member on day 3. So, to figure out who monarch was, I looked at all the whispers of the player that was knighted. They whispered with many people, however, I found out they whispered only once with a person day 2. I deduced that the person they whispered was monarch since they didn't need to talk much. Won next day
Bit iffy on that "Jailor" tip, some players are just clueless and will say "hi" first before being asked for a role, then once it's time to explain your town exe to the rest of the town, good luck with that. In a ranked game though? Yes. People know the drill.
Dying night 1 is just bad luck sadly :( not much you can do about it other than to just hop into the next game and hope for better luck That said, is good that you're tracking claims :D it'll help you a *ton* in the long run, and you'll get better at it with time
I'm kinda scared to try it, I played the original a few times and it just makes me feel bad when someone someone says terrible ____ or something like that and even worse when they call me out for being bad specifically, also every time I've played, the jailor has said hi when jailing me.
When you jail someone, is the jailed person still safe like they were in the first game? I'd sometimes jail a known friendly role with information if it meant I could keep them safe a night longer. I was usually scared of getting serial killer'd so I'd also keep a will of who I jailed and what they claimed to be. I'm so excited to play the second game here soon. I played the first in highschool so often with my buddies. 😁
I had a game where I was Amne turned Sheriff and I was asked in whispered by someone to claim a role and I didn't know if there was a willing in game so I just claimed TI but guy didn't believe me and shot me but he killed himself since I was town. I couldn't use my ability at all
The one tip is bad, TI should only claim if they have info, if your investigation reveals information that was practically already known then stating it is just putting a target on your back
Hello, I know this is an older video but I’ve just recently started playing ToS II. This is gonna be a really weird question but the context I will have provided will help it make sense. What should I be saying in the chat during the day time? In one of my most recent games, I got jailed and executed before I even got a chance to defend myself simply for not talking in chat. I was coroner, so maybe I should’ve been posting my will each day but I didn’t want to just out myself lol
Btw just wanna add this: I do the Jailor things Pipe says, and always have, I havent had a misexecute in so long I usually execute n2 or n3, n4 and finally n5
Honestly, the biggest Tip I can give is. PLAY WITH FRIENDS. The game can get boring as hell if you play solo over and over again. With friends, you will learn what they learn and vice versa
this game seems like a truck load of info is coming at you and before you can process on it and what to do more info comes at you and your like ok... wtf do i do now.... i think its a bit overboard...

Low in the list jester, means time to skirt the line with Conjurer/Deputy, and try to get yourself sus'ed out. Don't forget you show sus for Sheriff.
Not making a will is like talking to the police, it's a bad idea if innocent, and really bad if you arent

If i had to say one thing. Know how your role works and the important interactions.
Can't tell how many times I have been lynched at the start or someone else has because a person did not understand how a role works. Understanding how a role works can help catch many people in their lies.
In some cases, this has even gotten me lynched while lying. Townie didn't understand how a Amnesiac worked, convinced town I was guilty, and got me killed. All this because someone didn't understand that amnesiac PRIORITIZES town power roles not REQUIRE town power roles and did not understand if there are two amnes going for the same role, one amne will not get it. And while I was evil, other times it can be very frustrating trying to explain, while on trial, how the role actually works. Just makes the game way less fun.
And another note on whispers:
I was doomsayer, and I had guess a veteran and vigilante because they announced their roles. All I needed was on more. Monarch knighted a town member on day 3. So, to figure out who monarch was, I looked at all the whispers of the player that was knighted. They whispered with many people, however, I found out they whispered only once with a person day 2. I deduced that the person they whispered was monarch since they didn't need to talk much. Won next day

Bit iffy on that "Jailor" tip, some players are just clueless and will say "hi" first before being asked for a role, then once it's time to explain your town exe to the rest of the town, good luck with that.
In a ranked game though? Yes. People know the drill.

I'm kinda scared to try it, I played the original a few times and it just makes me feel bad when someone someone says terrible ____ or something like that and even worse when they call me out for being bad specifically, also every time I've played, the jailor has said hi when jailing me.
When you jail someone, is the jailed person still safe like they were in the first game? I'd sometimes jail a known friendly role with information if it meant I could keep them safe a night longer. I was usually scared of getting serial killer'd so I'd also keep a will of who I jailed and what they claimed to be.
I'm so excited to play the second game here soon. I played the first in highschool so often with my buddies. 😁

I had a game where I was Amne turned Sheriff and I was asked in whispered by someone to claim a role and I didn't know if there was a willing in game so I just claimed TI but guy didn't believe me and shot me but he killed himself since I was town. I couldn't use my ability at all

The one tip is bad, TI should only claim if they have info, if your investigation reveals information that was practically already known then stating it is just putting a target on your back

Hello, I know this is an older video but I’ve just recently started playing ToS II. This is gonna be a really weird question but the context I will have provided will help it make sense. What should I be saying in the chat during the day time? In one of my most recent games, I got jailed and executed before I even got a chance to defend myself simply for not talking in chat. Honestly, the biggest Tip I can give is. PLAY WITH FRIENDS. The game can get boring as hell if you play solo over and over again. With friends, you will learn what they learn and vice versa
