    At the very beginning I offer my heartily obeisances to His Holiness. As I am hailing from the state Assam today I come to know that His Holiness sent a letter of compassion to our Honorable Cheif Minister for the current situation of devastating flood presently we and our people are facing. Also His Holiness has given donation to fight the flood scenario. As an Assamese I offer my gratitude and thanks to His Holiness for this kindness.
    With love Himangshu Deka

    This comment was written for the international integral community and cross posted here: Integral Spiritual Development - Tibetan Buddhism has been one of the primary practices of Ken Wilber, an American philosopher and author. In sharp contrast to postmodern's desire to "let it all hang out", no matter how many people you badly harm, Tibetan Buddhism teaches that moving towards spiritual maturity includes being able to effectively deal with and even outgrow our potentially harmful emotions. The Dalai Lama explains that when we are taken over by potentially harmful emotions they can hijack the part of our brain that can consider long term consequences for all stakeholders. This can have permanent and tragic effects on many people. An example of this could be when a husband or wife gets so angry that they kill their mate, the very person that they formally vowed to love, honor, and cherish for the rest of their life. 😢 A lesser example could be when a hater tresspasses into our community to single out and abuse one or more of our members. Anyway, the Dalai Lama teaches us how to spend more of our time basking in the the beneficial states and emotions of peace, love, and joy. Thank you sir.

    I Do exist in both subsets of physical and imaginary relationships. My thoughts, my actions and my words on those relationships are proofs of my existences. Only when I was in the realm of emptiness, all is nullifying. The empty space can not be defined and has no boundary- so where am I and who am I?
    ha ha ... acceptance is the nullification in emptiness. .. learn to accept.... be happy...

    IMO the main translator uses overly complicated words and word choices to convey the simplicity of the ideas his holiness' expresses when speaking his adequate English. The tone and emphasis the translator seems a little at odds to those of 'the ocean of wisdom" HHDL. Nevertheless thank you for your well intentioned hard work and effort.
    I wonder what HHDL would have to say about the Philosophy guiding the work of some major Neuroscientists and psychoanalysts- known as Dual Aspect Monism - that the Brain is the Mind viewed from two different perspectives - the Subjective &the Objective : it is an object when studied from 'outside' by the senses; and it is also experienced as the subject's Mind when s/he is the recipient of the data conveyed by the neurons from the senses. Sorry i haven't expressed it very well. i empathise with the translator now! ;)

      @@dawal.992 Sanskrit or Pali in general when we refer to Buddhist texts, not as you say "Tibetan Buddhist words" right? And would you agree that not all translators are equal? And that the criteria for judgement among the highly skilled translators are Clarity and Simplicity as well as Accuracy? As you know one of the major challenges with English Language translation - especially of Metaphysical and Psychological topics - is that there are so many alternative words available to convey the same idea, something one appreciates when one consults a Thesaurus. The ability to simplify and reveal for, or complexify and veil understanding from the listener with good word choices and language is one of the most important indicators of an above average and gifted translator. It demonstrates that that particular translator has attained a clear experience of the subject they are working with particularly when translating on the fly. Wise 'knowers' convey complex ideas in small easy to understand sentences and make concepts as simple as possible when paraphrasing but "no simpler than that" or stray from accuracy. I humbly stick to my original comment even if it means extending it to common translation of some of the profound ideas expounded by the Buddha(s) and the Nalander Masters. Kind wishes to you.

    ...isnt buddhism and tibetan, and human consiousness also dependent in origination, compounded, their true nature is empty of inherant existance? actually i agree with buddhism that all things are empty of stable, individual existance/identity, that all things come and go, other than interdependence which remains.... but it is hard to let go of attachment to the illusion of static identity/existance for things that we are attached to, we dont want them to change. but isnt it true that tibetan language, the usa, russia, and china, mongolia and the earth itself are all changing, compounded, and dependent origination, and going away as we speak? wont the earth itself and nagarjuna and all world religions, and humanity completely disappear? or was that only applicable to the dinosaurs and buddhism and the human mind are outside of that dynamic of change?

    • @Zeddd7
      @Zeddd7 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Buddhism may come and go. Buddhists will also speak of dark ages with no Buddhism where beings minds are inflexible and unwilling to see things as they are. Nevertheless, wisdom remains, whether it is called Buddhism or not, whether beings see clearly or not.

    • @thomasschwarz1973
      @thomasschwarz1973 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Zeddd7 right.... So all things are empty. All things change. But emptiness or dependent origination is stable. So also the human mind goes away. But the human mind can understand that it's fundemental nature, and the fundemental nature of all things (e.g. rocks and stars) is dependent origination, or emptiness...

    • @Zeddd7
      @Zeddd7 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thomas Schwarz precisely. Humans have the capability to understand emptiness or dependent origination. Yet whether we as humans decide to see it or not, doesn't change how things exist ultimately. If we're talking relative, then our thoughts and ideas define what reality is for us. The trick is to unite the two and view them as inseparable.

    • @Zeddd7
      @Zeddd7 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      For example: I am here and interdependly arising. You could also say, there is no self here, it is merely dependently arising. Both are valid. The "I" in the first example exists based on causes and conditions and not separately from them. The "no self" in the second does not exist because it is made up of causes and conditions so you cannot find a "self" that exists separately from those. The trick is to be able to perceive this without having to think about it, and that's easier said than done.

    • @thomasschwarz1973
      @thomasschwarz1973 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Zeddd7 Well.... About the "trick".... We humans would love to have one... Somehow beat death, change, time.... Become enlightened, become a buddha, go to heaven, etc... But I am pretty sure that the best we can do (and the worst) is become a rock. Or course the rock will evolve just as it did to eventually "create" prokaryotic cells. So all things evolve, all things arise dependent on conditions, all things are compounded (made up of other things). Then the core question that seems to be on the table, "but isn't human consciousness special? On its subtlest level, isn't it without beginning or end? I would say 1, no it's not special. It's subtle most nature is the same as a rock's subtlest nature. Emptiness (lack of defining characteristics, no increase, no decrease, etc....)
