Competition is a great thing. All these different programs are trying to be the best again & again. We, as the consumer, are the winners. Items you describe here can only enhance my brewing knowledge, experience, and my end product. Thank you.
Great video! I really am loving Brewfather too. So many useful (and easy-to-use) features. The one thing I wish it had is some kind of forum tied to each recipe in the library, so people could comment on how the recipe turned out, ability to ask questions about the recipe, etc. Maybe there is and I just don't know how to find it. Not quite a power user yet!
I moved to Brewfather from my own spreadsheet grain bill and water calculations, a couple of years ago and never looked back. It's incredibly good value and support from Thomas (when I've very occasionally needed it) has been first class. What I like most is the ability to dial in your equipment and customise, resulting in near perfect accuracy in hitting both OG and wort volume targets. The equipment profile can be a little off putting at first as there are so many parameters, but stick with it. In 2 or 3 brews you will have it nailed. Great video Brian
One of the things that I find awesome in Brewfather, is that you can add extra fields to the each batch. In my case I add the Tap number, and from my home automation I get the data of what is available on each tap of my keezer directly from Brewfather (other awesome feature).
Nicely done Brian….Brewfather sure is winning a lot of brewers over. I could not imagine using anything else now and I was many years into using Beersmith before I switched.
Great video! Switched to Brewfather a year ago and never looked back. Another leading software platform never embraced that homebrewers wanted to create an instance of a recipe as a batch and measure to it-Brewfather does this out of the box. Oh and the t-shirt is from the movie Alien.
Great job as usual. I use Beer Smith and am slowly using and learning how to use Brew Father but so far I've been very impressed. As for the Tilt, we need to get you one so you can learn a bit about them as they are Bluetooth only but you can connect them to the web in other ways or run a local web server on a Raspberry Pi.
Your first reason is what kept me from switching to Brewfather. I'm comfortable with Brewer's Friend and it has all the same tools. It may not have as extensive integrations, but I don't use or need anything integrated.
I've used Beersmith software for 10-15 years and it works fine. Bought it 1 time for I think $30 and have used the same license with no problems. Im sure Brewfather got its ideas from BeerSmith based on its similarities.... Good to know theres an alternative but there's no reason for me to change. Thanks.
Brewfather is pretty cool, been a premium sub for about a year now. The water chemistry calculations make working with distilled water very simple, and I use the hydrometer temp adjuster tool all. the. time. Nice quik take! ...and the NOSTROMO landed on LV-426 ;-)
Brian, Thanks for the informative video. I have been using Brewers Friend software for the past year, and that was a huge step for me in improving my brewing results, but I have to say that the Brew Father software is a bit more intuitive. I like the real time dashboard graph that gives you a picture of your brewing as you add or remove ingredients. Thanks again and keep bringing the videos.

Do you have any thoughts/recommendation re: this? (I AG brew using a 5 gal Igloo cooler). Thanks! Great video BTW!!
