One of the things that I find awesome in Brewfather, is that you can add extra fields to the each batch. In my case I add the Tap number, and from my home automation I get the data of what is available on each tap of my keezer directly from Brewfather (other awesome feature).

I've used Beersmith software for 10-15 years and it works fine. Bought it 1 time for I think $30 and have used the same license with no problems. Im sure Brewfather got its ideas from BeerSmith based on its similarities.... Good to know theres an alternative but there's no reason for me to change. Thanks.

I moved to Brewfather from my own spreadsheet grain bill and water calculations, a couple of years ago and never looked back. It's incredibly good value and support from Thomas (when I've very occasionally needed it) has been first class. What I like most is the ability to dial in your equipment and customise, resulting in near perfect accuracy in hitting both OG and wort volume targets. The equipment profile can be a little off putting at first as there are so many parameters, but stick with it. In 2 or 3 brews you will have it nailed. Great video Brian

Great video! I really am loving Brewfather too. So many useful (and easy-to-use) features. The one thing I wish it had is some kind of forum tied to each recipe in the library, so people could comment on how the recipe turned out, ability to ask questions about the recipe, etc. Maybe there is and I just don't know how to find it. Not quite a power user yet!

I think I've stuck with Beersmith for so long because I can still use it offline and have control of my brewing files locally (backups, privacy, etc.). I know Beersmith has internet connectivity, but something about having my brewing data and files kept on my local machine gives me additional peace of mind. I will agree, however, that Brewfather looks to be MUCH easier to use. I love Brad's software, podcast, and all the work he does for homebrewing, but Beersmith definitely behaves like something from a couple decades ago. Great video!
