South Africa hosts 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers for some African nations

South Africa hosted most of the African countries forced to use neutral venues for their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers as the Confederation of African Football continues to clamp down on poor facilities. Some 17 of the 43 countries with a home game scheduled in the third and fourth round of this month's continental qualifiers were barred from using their stadia because they are not up to standard.
