I am 11 months postpartum, and I breast-fed my baby until he was 10 months old. My doctor told me that I could continue the mini pill after I stopped breast-feeding because I had less hormonal changes on the progesterone only pill. However, after one month of stopping breast-feeding, I found out I was pregnant. I did not miss any pills, however. Is the mini pill less effective when you stop breast-feeding?

Hi Hannah, sorry for the delay getting back. Breastfeeding (and stopping it) is not known to affect the effectiveness of the minipill.
Given that you've not missed any doses, it may be a matter of the pill not being 100% effective and sometimes can fail (in 7/100 cases), even when we use it as recommended. I know this can be quite difficult, and sending you best wishes going forward 💕
