    Great video! I had a lesson today coming back from therapy for my wrist. I used Hyper G and had my pure drive restring with hyper g soft. I didn’t have any wrist pain today which makes me real happy. Hopefully the new strings with the lower tension helps me!

      I started using hyper g soft too and I’m blown away how arm friendly it is (tendon issue in wrist). It’s so comfortable in my blade strung at 48 lbs that I just went to 52 and still super soft. May try 54 just to see. what tension do you use? I know the babolot is stiffer than the blade so I suspect less than 48-52.

      That's awesome that Hyper G Soft was able to help you with your wrist pain! What tension did you string it at?

      If you do go up to 54 definitely let me know how it feels!

      @@brodytaylor2020 I strung mine at 49lbs.

    Great information and in depth video. Respect!! But in terms of gauge, which one do you suggest for more feel and spin

      Thank you so much for the kind words and comment! I would suggest starting with their 17G first. That one is thinner than most other companies 17G so you will be able to tell if you like a thin string or if you want to go a little thicker so that the strings last longer

    Solinco is the only brand that has a full range of gauge from 1.05 up to 1.30. Amazing.

      Solinco does a very nice job with the amount of gauges and available products they have in my opinion.

    The thicker the string the lower the guage. The higher the number the thinner the string. I think that’s what you meant. Nice video!

      When talking about the abbreviation on the package like 16G or 20G then yes, the higher the number the thinner the string. Once you start looking at the 1.-- mm number on the pack, that is where the higher number represents a thicker string. I still get tripped up by it every so often so I may have made it not as clear in the video when talking about it but thank you for letting me know and commenting!

    I really like the dead and crisp (?) feel to hyper g, makes it feel controlled. but man I can't even go through serve practice without notching the crap out of them.

    • @brodytaylor2020

      How often are you restringing then?

  • @spyghetti

    Hyper-G typically seems to last a bit longer in full imho vs tour bite. Hyper-G seems to play better after a bit of hitting when freshly strung. I usually use cyclone or Hyper-G, but cyclone losses control quicker.. I think confidential is in between TB and Hyper.

    • @brodytaylor2020
      @brodytaylor2020  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I can see that with Hyper-G. It did start feeling a bit more familiar after I had hit with it awhile. It's definitely a good one to compare with Cyclone and I think it is interesting that you have felt Cyclone lose control quicker

      @@brodytaylor2020 yeah I just have to cut it out earlier where I feel like I get more play from the Hyper-G. I string both often in full in an array of racquets.. I think denser patterns the thin gauge cyclone does last (playability holds a bit more, but in an open pattern it goes quicker), but usually when I cut out cyclone even after a couple of weeks it doesn't move at all when I cut it, but you usually can tell before cut out. Hyper-G seems to do the same but I don't lose as much playability. side note: I've been using more cyclone 18g so I think gauge might have something to do with it. I agree on pretty all your takes on hyper-G for the extra couple bucks vs cyclone I think they are comparable and both awesome but I like Hyper-G a lot. Never liked it in hybrid but maybe my crosses are the wrong ones I've tried.

    • @brodytaylor2020
      @brodytaylor2020  หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you weren't comparing the Cyclone 18G to Hyper-G 18G that very well could be causing the differences you are feeling. What was the cross string you used your hybrid?

    hey brody. tennis has been in my life for many years. i stared with a wood and metal racquets strung with nylon staytite, blue-spiral and amercan-twist. then as strings evolved leona 66, synthetic gut, eventually technifibre 515, and nrg2 multifilament. with the introduction and popularity of poly and co-poly, ive been very hesitant to try them because of two things: 1) injury to my arm, 2) loss of tension. these days as a coach, im just feeding balls and dont need poly to do that. you mention poly and co-poly strings feel dead. does "dead" feel vs a "lively" feel have any relation to performance?

    • @brodytaylor2020
      @brodytaylor2020  หลายเดือนก่อน

      That's so awesome that tennis has been a part of your life for so long! I don't think that you necessarily need to try a polyester if all you are doing as a coach is feeding and you've never had an issue before. The answer to your question is below.
      There is a difference in performance between the "dead" feel and "lively" feel to strings but it will vary depending on what string you use and the tension as well. My biggest takeaway is that strings that tend to have a more "dead" feel can be a little bit harder on the arm since they have tended to be stiffer for me as well as I do not feel as connected to my racquet when using them. With a more "lively" feel, this is usually a type of string that is a little easier on the arm and might even have some siding to it for an increase in spin. I also tend to feel that I have an easier time understanding when I am hitting outside of the sweet-spot on a racquet with a "livelier" string because I can feel the ball hit the strings easier.
