    I think when the Rush made its first appearance in Indonesia, we were all happy because all the trims have 6 Airbags and VSC. But look at this, we immediately get jealous because you guys have Blind Spot Monitor and Pre Collision System (which I think borrows the same system with the Myvi, since both cars are manufactured in the same factory and they share some components).

    • @limboonhong64
      @limboonhong64 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In Malaysia Myvi ASA only operate at below 30km/h. In the Rush Toyota made the PCW and PCB work at 4km/h - 80km/h. Actually this is upgrade system from Myvi and more better than what in Myvi. However in Myvi facelift maybe can get what in the Rush for the updated active safety features.

    I just purchased a Rush, and it was a pretty simple choice for me. All I care about is reliability, durability, and safety.
    One of the biggest complaints about the Rush is the main reason I purchased it: engine and powertrain. The Rush engine is battle-tested and has been around for a while which means you get rock-solid reliability that should give you many, many years problem-free, and you should be able to rack up 200K fairly easily. The transmission is only a 4 speed, and if you would be driving a lot on the highway this maybe wouldn't be the best choice as RPM's hit around 3000 at highway speed; however, I will only be driving this in the city, or on some country roads (no highway driving). At those speeds the gearing and torque are perfect, and the rear-wheel-drive offers good acceleration.
    That being said, I am, so so relieved that this is a traditional auto, even though Toyota and Honda make 'better" CVT's than most, I, personally, do not trust this technology, yet. There are so many people who may even like their CVT, but they just are not yet as reliable as a traditional auto - that can't be refuted. All I care about is that the vehicle lasts a long time.
    Safety, body-on-frame construction, and clearance are added bonuses.

    Rear wheel drive for Rush is not giving good fuel economy as it needs to transfer the power from front engine to rear axle tyres by long shaft, the power loss here during power transferring. Thats why when cruising 100km/hr, rear wheel driven car will have 2800-3000 of rpm.

  • @mrchristmh2

    Would definitely buy the rush if it had at least a 2.0 engine + CVT. With the 1.5 it’s going to be so underpowered.... but anyway it’s not a premium SUV or whatsoever. Though with the features it has it actually could be.

    • @limboonhong64
      @limboonhong64 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Because this is rear wheel drive and engine position place are different compare to normal car and the gearbox should be center unlike in Vios or Sienta in left just beside battery position. So CVT definetely can't fit and with CVT in Vios this car will more underpower although better cruising on highway with lower rpm and less fuel consumption than 4AT. If Toyota can make with 6AT like Innova and add more power maybe a 1.8L engine then this will more better power when overtake on highway speed. Even 1.8L u will feel not as fast as Altis 1.8L since this car heavier especially if carry more stuft and passenger

    • @brandonczw
      @brandonczw 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Lim Boon Hong yes, i totally agree with u. At least a 1.8 would be nice. A 6 speed would be lovely too but i think it’s a bit too much to ask for. cvt would be best for this segment.

    • @limboonhong64
      @limboonhong64 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Problem is CVT maybe not enough durable in this type of SUV like even the upper segment Innova. In some country they need high reliability and easy maintenance MPV or SUV. Thats why Avanza and Rush selling well in Indonesia. I really hope Vios can get Super CVT-i instead of current CVT. If u have test Altis 1.8 and the Vios u will know when acceleration the different of the good CVT with a little bit fun instead of boring and loud noise CVT in the Vios.

      Sadly, majority of the cars in Malaysia do have better specs than the ones in Philippines, for very similar prices. I'm not sure why.

      @@Kyle-kc8cw I think they are forced to give higher specs for these category of cars in Malaysia cause it does not sell well. Malaysians have moved away from 7 seater SUVs. So vehicles like Mazda CX5, Honda CRV, Nissan XTrail, Subaru XV and Forrester etc sells better now. 7 seater SUV market is dying. The VW Tiguan also sells quite well here. I think it also reflects the smaller families nowadays.
