I think in some Asian countries mainly Japan it's pretty common not to have a full on cooking range in your house. I've noticed with a number of Asian channels where cooking appears, they have like one of those single induction burners like you get for camping and a little convection oven for baking. They use mostly small appliances for cooking especially in the case of one to two people households.

When we got out of the creek all of us had little black leeches latched onto our legs. Fortunately my mother managed to get them off of us pretty easily, she wiped all of us down with baby wipes and the leeches fell off.
