    One of your greatest Texas vids yet. Thanks for clinching the I-410!

    410 is probably my favorite highway ever, it’s fun driving on it. Sometimes I take drives around the whole loop when I wanna clear my mind.

      As a San Antonian of my whole life we just gotta disagree. 1604 is way better and 281 as well. I prefer going on drives around 1604. It’s also closer to me. I really like 281 north though. Like in the beginning of the video. Easily the best non loop in the whole city

      @@Potato_pigeon1604 is literal dog shit in MOST areas, down south it’s so bumpy and one lane ? SOMETIMES two and the road still shitty, then north they’re doing straight construction and traffic? there’s also no lights all all especially down south so driving at night is horrible this is just my personal experience though.

    This is so cool. San Antonio and the Rio Grande Valley have the BEST Tex Mex. I grew up in Round Rock, TX and wondered why Austin Area did not have a 410 like highway. Texas freeways seem to be in the "front yard" while all other Interstates outside of Texas feel they flank the "back yard" of properties. It feels like you're IN the city when on Texas Interstates rather than passing through.

    I Grew up in San Antonio. The first 5 minutes of the video were a nostalgia trip because I grew up around that area. I spent many Sunday mornings at the Galaxy theater.

    Nice 281 north entrance. I love driving on 281. Though my favorite highway in the city is 1604. Always has and always will be

    After clinching I-270 around Columbus, OH, last month and also having seen I-410 footage online before, I think that they are very similar to each other.

    • @MileageMikeTravels
      @MileageMikeTravels  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I didn’t get to check out 270 when in Columbus. What did you find similar about them?

    • @Markkos1992
      @Markkos1992 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MileageMikeTravels The northern section of I-270 has tons of C/D Roads, stacks, and is very suburban. The southern section of I-270 is much more of a rural six-lane freeway kinda like the four-lane section of I-410. Even the signage at the freeway-to-freeway interchanges all around Columbus screams Texas.

    I don't know if you take suggestions, but I'd love to see you drive the freeways (and downtown) of Toronto & suburbs (including Hamilton). I know there are alot of timelapse videos of those areas on TH-cam already, and those are cool, but i also love videos like yours in real time with natural sound.

    Just a personal question mike, what do you think of the strange north interchange between I-35 and I-410? It has always confused me

    • @MileageMikeTravels
      @MileageMikeTravels  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Looks like a design that worked when the area was smaller. It appears that the I-410 to I-35 NB and I-35 SB thru are the most dominant movements so those lanes flow through the interchange more easily. Traffic wanting to stay on I-410 in either direction seems to have to use some very curvy, slow-single lane ramps that probably won’t work for long as the area continues to grow. Not sure of the history of I-410 in San Antonio but from the looks of this interchange it doesn’t look like it was originally conceived as a full loop, at least not as currently routed in this part. Almost as if it were slapped onto I-35 at a later point. They might have to rebuild part of the interchange at some point if they’re not already planning to.

    • @forwardthinkingtrucker
      @forwardthinkingtrucker ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They're rebuilding all of that. All intersections of major interstates will have direct flyover's. And an elevated 2-3's lanes on 35 from FM 1103(Schertz/Cibolo) to downtown will be constructed. Also the 410 and the 10 along with the 10 and the 1604 at both intersection will be redeveloped with direct flyover's. They're also expanding 1604 into a full freeway with up to 5 lanes each side with a new interchange at 35 and 1604

    It always amazes me how different I-410 is north and west of Downtown San Antonio versus south and east of it.
    I wonder why San Antonio is not as developed south of Downtown San Antonio

    • @forwardthinkingtrucker
      @forwardthinkingtrucker ปีที่แล้ว +2

      People tended to stay away from those area's cuz of businesses needing population to have employees to pick from. It's starting to get developed due to a lot of companies now moving into that area. With Vida being built out we're maybe 10 years out from them having to expand the Southside more. And with the trucking flowing a lot more out of Mexico and with the bigger companies coming in it might be within the next 5 years

    This video is crap. Everyone knows that it takes about 12 hours to go all the way around Loop 410 and that's if you're going 70 MPH.
