Thank you for being one of the early reviews we know how much you like Lucy's voice and performances as all of do she an amazing singer interpreter and always looks beautiful doing it. Thank you and most of all thanks to Lucy
The change from Organ to Bells could be to do with the Ballerina setting as it's the same sound as the old Musical jewellery Boxes that had the Ballerina pop up when they opened the lid. I didn't get the connection at first until I heard someone else mention it, but it makes sense to me now.
Lucy's version follows along the same path vocally as Annie Lennox's version. Lucy's version just stands out, beautiful lower register. The ballerina featured in the video is Alanna Massey, she was also featured in the SHINEDOWN video SECOND CHANCE. She's a graduate of the University of Florida. Thank you for a really good review.....
Lucy's version as you said is unique. I originally listened to the non-video version and after seeing her video I took a greater appreciation to the release. I had the orchestral version done in Denmark with Gary Brooker stuck in my mind and was mentally comparing it to Lucy. After seeing Lucy's video, I now love her take on it. Thanks for taking this on so quickly and following Lucy.
Brother you not only hit my spot, you wiped it clean off. Two beautiful vocals and arrangements. Rip Gary. Lucy's chest voice is so smooth and silky. Goosebumps a plenty. This was hot off the press when our host put this out. Thank you Jeff for feeding my playlist.🤠
Thanks. Astute analysis of the video and the musical arrangement. Lucy's voice ... I don't have the words to do it justice. Happy birthday to your lovely wife and best wishes for the New Year . Cheers
Thank you for the quick reaction to this. I am old enough to remember hearing the original, I agree it had a psychedelic feel to it. For me, Lucy's version was more dreamy, and I loved ❤ it.
I grew up with the original and really enjoyed hearing both versions back to back. The vocal delivery in both versions is so different, with the original singer’s delivery of each syllable/word being short and clipped (not a criticism), whereas Lucy showed her ability to hold and extend notes, giving her cover a totally different and softer sound.
HI Jeff I did not expect this, one of my fav songs of all time, the best version Garry Brooker made was live in Denmark in 2006 they sung this song with a full orchestra and a choir, you must watch this Jeff it is on TH-cam it's truly fantastic, and then Lucy has made a wonderful cover of it which was so good she has to be a Superstar in the making. Barbara.
I will watch it Barbara and thank And I certainly think Lucy is a Superstar already. More so in England. I expect to see her showing up in all major formats, if for nothing else she puts up major numbers on TH-cam. Some exec is going to see that and grab her up . I hope she has sound advice and a great lawyer when this happens I’ve watched her so much I feel like she’s my daughter!😀
Hello Jeff her Manager is a chap called Chris Broom who owns Cavendish Records, Lucy irecords her songs under his record company, He is producing Rosie and has wrote most of the songd for this is a new musical in which Lucy is the main star which will be out later in 2024, she is going mainstream on March 5 she is appearing in concert the venue is in Manchester England so lets hope she kills it. Take care Barbara. @@Anothercoverlover62
I’m listening to this thinking this sounds like Van Morrison so I had to look and that’s where I heard the song. He does a lot of similar music. Have to pick one of his someday. Enjoyed listening to. Old songs and flashbacks continue here watching you. Enjoy all your comments too. Thank you. Take care. Wished sue a happy birthday on the other channel but if not seen there and maybe seen here. Happy Birthday to her. 🙏🙏🙏
Wow Jeff you are very quick to get this up within the hour of release. I wasn’t expecting this. I’m going dizzy just watching the so many Lucy reactions this Christmas. I like this video and happy Lucy did one. I always loved this song however until Lucy - now, never really listened the lyrics. Lucy does an exceptional job with this song and the video. I prefer Lucy’s video and Lucy is the better singer and she sings it best, and both versions are equally good. However I still prefer Procol Harum’s song, probably as you say down to the classic iconic organ with it’s nostalgia. But perhaps younger people without that nostalgia will prefer Lucy’s rendition, as her version is technically better.
@@ChrisScott0 I’ve loved this song since I was little: “You’ll Never Walk Alone”. This would be a great song for Lucy to further show off her range. I found a video of Barbra Streisand singing it after 911, but it wouldn’t have to be that somber, as it was a song in the show Carousel. th-cam.com/video/ozhWlm-EGbo/w-d-xo.html
@@lawrenceb5236 I doubt Lucy will sing that. Firstly it’s an iconic Liverpool football (soccer) song, Lucy supports Wigan Warriors which is a rugby team, but Wigan also has the football (soccer) team. ⚽ Even so most locals would lean towards Manchester United, and it’s not really Lucy’s type. Lucy didn’t like my joke comment another rival rugby team within Wigan, so she wouldn’t want to sing a Liverpool football chant.
Hi Jeff I keep puttying comments up her but they keep disappearing. Great reaction they are both great but for me Lucy´s just shines best voice I have ever heard and in her Lower registry she nails this .Thanks for your support for Lucy .Happy New Year

Okay that was crap video of Procol Harum. The original, I believe, is a Vietnam War video? Best Organ players? Lee Michaels. 😎 Best Singers? Lucy Thomas Martha Thomas Best Santa Claus? You🎅🏼 👍❤️ Man, I love this song!❤ It had a young girls music box theme or so it seemed?
Thanks Sea! I chose the video because I thought the original would get blocked. Agreed somewhat on best organ player Best singers I agree in a way not no necessarily the best of all time Best Santa, definitely me!!
@@Anothercoverlover62 Well, it came down to you and Lee but since I gave you Santa, I had to give a shoutout to Lee Michaels. Had he not gone deaf, he would have been at the top.
Beautiful lower register, and adding the ballerina during the musical interludes is brilliant. She has a once in a lifetime voice. 👑
Agreed

She is amazing and often does covers that surprise me!
It has similarities to the Annie Lennox version released back in The 90's but for my money Lucy sings it with more warmth.
I agree with you 100%!
Thanks Jeff!

Nice comments. As you say , what's not to like. Yes, the bells really chilled it. Great slow dance material.
Lucy, the voice, certainly has got one.
Yup! I graduated from high school in 1969! Listen to Gary Brooker in Denmark 🇩🇰!! Full orchestra & choir. AMAZING!
These video is fantastic the ballerina dancers are excellent background and the lower registry voice is beautiful very flawlessly into limitless.
Thank you sir!! I agree

I think the younger gen doesn't even know the Procol Harum version. I think Lucy's version would speak to them more.
I think this should inspire everyone to listen to the original. Knowing a songs roots is a good way to explore all music.@@Anothercoverlover62
