I always heard of that open seat in the back being called a, Rumble" seat......different terms depending on where you're from. I love learning new things.

Wow.. I just luv this era & fashion. You can see how the roaring 20’s due to having more wealth & prosperity, changed the styles of car & fashion. People needed to display that wealth as the socialised & entertained more. Luv what I know it as either a ‘rumble seat’ or a ‘dickey seat’. Couldn’t imagine trying to park one of those beautiful cars. At least the 1930’s cars were built more practical for driving in bad weather. Thank you both for an amazing time at the museum. Safe travels & happy trails. 🫶💕😎🇦🇺

I wish we still had dresses like these for luncheons and dinners. Now a days people wear blue jeans to weddings and funerals even. I always felt I was born in the wrong era. I should have been born in the 40s . Or even the 30s.

I love the old fashioned cars. I didn't know there were some electric one back then. I never want an electric one. I had a few favorites on here, but the funny thing is with my height, I'd have trouble seeing over the steering wheel or reaching the pedals. LOL!

Thank you both so much for taking us on this tour. I can't help but think. what it was like back in them days. I was lucky to have. a wonderful grandmother. who would tell me the stories of her childhood? I always say that I never want to live to be as old as my grandmother did. I always felt like she had seen way too many changes. I mean, back in her day, those horse and buggies. no electricity, no running water, no telephones. No pave roads. But I will never forget her stories. And I'm thankful that my children got to know her as well. Thank you again. for bringing back memories of my grandmother.

I have a 1949 packard torpedo coupe straight eight. The engine was green, and the body is Arizona sand color. Or a very pale brown basically. If I ever make it to Christmas in the creek and you guys are there, you can take it for a test drive. She is fun to drive!

Hey Brett, on that 1931 I think was the year, Deusenburg, I believe the two front lights that were angled with the tires was because the two larger headlights were fixed and the two smaller would angle with the tires as you steered the car. 🎉
Which is why it was funny when they "came out" with the new headlights that would follow your steering. Deusenburg and packard both had that in the 30s, and packard had a self driving car in the 30s as well. The tire in the trunk would drop down and park the park or unpark the car for you!

I watched a documentary once on how they didn't have paved (or stone or brick) roads in the beginning and the roads would get real muddy and cars would get stuck. Later there was a guy who designed the roads, and they began building them east to west and I believe they built one all the way to Indiana. But they still had no signs or laws for driving and the man who designed the road was actually killed in a car accident because the roads were winding and dangerous and people drove kind of crazy. After that they started making stop signs and other signs for safety.

I wish car makers would be creative again. In high school i wanted to get a black SUV from each manufacturer, take the emblems off and take a photo on all the SUVs in a line. The license plates being a number 1- 10. Then send that photo to the CEOs of each manufacturer and ask them to identify their SUV by number. My project was going to show whether the ceos of ford, chevy, toyota ect would be able to tell their suv apart. My hope was it would inspire them to break the rut of using the same mold for every brand. But i was declined by my teacher saying CEOs are too busy. It would be even better today. Maybe one of the manufacturers would Bring back the elegance of driving.

Had an old Auntie and Uncle who were friends with my parents they owned and old car with a trundle seat we were allowed to look but not touch it was highly polished it was old when was kid about 1962. My brother brought Sir Frank Packers old Limousine can’t remember make and model but old it used to cost him $1,500. In 1982 and took a week just for a service if anyone put a fingerprint on it. It took an hour and a half or more to Polish out I would not touch in case I got the polishing job hence why they say don’t touch.
