Usually dishes like Panner Chilly, Veg Chilly, Veg Manchurian, Spring Rolls, Hara Bhara Kebab will not disappoint you in any hotel so having one of them in the buffet is good tactic in case other starters fail to impress.

We had extremely bad experience in South Indian buffet breakfast. All items were very cold and tasteless .
