I've always loved the Mother franchise, so when I heard that Undertale was created by someone heavily inspired by the classic JRPG franchise - I was immediately interested.
Then, when members of the community here told me they loved the game, there was no question - I had to do a blind first time Undertale Let's Play, so from here on out that's what is going down. Well, until it's over. But yeah! Let's Play Undertale for the first time on Nintendo Switch :D
P.S. how fitting is it that the series starts on the week of Undertale’s 9th birthday?

Undertale is a 2015 2D role-playing video game created by American indie developer Toby Fox. The player controls a child who has fallen into the Underground: a large, secluded region under the surface of the Earth, separated by a magical barrier. The player meets various monsters during the journey back to the surface, although some monsters might engage the player in a fight. The combat system involves the player navigating through mini-bullet hell attacks by the opponent. They can opt to pacify or subdue monsters in order to spare them instead of killing them. These choices affect the game, with the dialogue, characters, and story changing based on outcomes.
Outside of artwork and character designs by Temmie Chang and other guest designers, Fox developed the entirety of the game by himself, including the script and music. The game took inspiration from several sources, including the Brandish, Mario & Luigi, and Mother role-playing game series, bullet hell shooter series Touhou Project, role-playing game Moon: Remix RPG Adventure, and British comedy show Mr. Bean. Undertale was originally meant to be two hours in length and was set to be released in mid-2014, but received delays.
The game was released for Windows and OS X in September 2015. It was also ported to Linux in July 2016, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita in August 2017, the Nintendo Switch in September 2018, and Xbox One in March 2021. The game was acclaimed for its thematic material, intuitive combat system, musical score, originality, story, dialogue, and characters. The game has sold at least five million copies and was nominated for multiple accolades and awards. Several gaming publications and conventions listed Undertale as game of the year, and others have since listed it as one of the greatest video games ever made. Two chapters of a related game, Deltarune, were released in 2018 and 2021.

Your Sans voice is such a cool choice! And while I tend to go along with the "Papyrus sounds like Skeletor" headcanon, it's so refreshing to hear this familiar scene played out with such new voices, it gives me a whole new appreciation for the jokes!

i kinda weirdly relate to papyrus sometimes. he just wants to be appreciated and he's trying his hardest, but life just isn't always nice to you, yet we always stay positive and determined!
the word search is actually impossible. all the words are there but giasfelfebrehber isn't there cus of a typing error in the search lmao.
jerry slightly extends attacks. for the rest all he does is be a nuisance.

Looks like you got the sans and Papyrus names matching their fonts by yourself based on the description! So I guess I'll have to think of something else!
20:52 There are actually 7 different results that you can get from the mini-golf minigame. All 7 results reward you with a different note and flag color based on how long it took you (seconds) to make it in the hole and how many shots you took. These little notes combined with the flag color actually explain a little bit about the lore of Undertale! It is a really unique (albeit very strange) way to hide lore! I can't explain the lore to you yet of course, but this is just drawing your attention to it for later!

Lets plays of this game sre slmost always better that streams since people get to fully enjoy it without getting distracted or backseated by chat.
That’s a big reason I prefer watching let’s plays and in turn also why I enjoy creating them :p

Not a spoiler, but a gameplay tip: 99% of enemies in this game have a Mercy path. Some Mercy paths are harder to find than others (for example you may need to use multiple Act commands in a certain order, or in some cases simply keep trying to pick the spare option even if their name isn't yellow). Although there's no wrong answer in how to play the game! You can go through sparing everyone, you can go through killing everyone, or you can do some mix between the two!

Absolutely EVERYONE* can be spared.
You can even get a different ending by doing so (along with a few extra interactions required).
It's one of the best things about this game, exactly how the game reacts to the things you do.
Most people end up killing at least a few on their first playthrough, so this is to be expected.
*more like 99% because some bosses straight up can't be encountered on the mercy/pacifist route.
