Xbox One and Series Controllers suck. I had three of them an all of them did at some point have problems with the A-button input. My 360-Controller worked for 10 years without issues.
I have a question so I have a elite controller series 1 but the d-pad doesn't work sometimes and the left Anolog stick is broken doesn't click down and a button is broken How easy is it to Fix
I got through part 6 and my controller won’t turn on anymore and I did the procedure 3 times over which took around 3 and a half hours and the same result of it not turning on. I checked the batteries and still nothing.. idk what to do and I’m seriously considering to just switch to pc at this point with how many controllers I’ve wasted money on.
hi again, i did the other day what u suggested and for a few mins it worked, but then again to the problem, and the problem is that my a button get stuck when i press it, not every time but usually when i push with a little strengh , not intentionally of course it get stuck, and its the only button that happens, the controller i have been using it like 6 month it was new,
Bro my y button is stuck what to do? I tried cleaning it with isopropyl alcohol with cloth but its still stuck please help me 😭 this fucking thing costs a fortune.
The issue with my controller was with the "X" button, which was not responding unless really pressing down on it. Unfortunately I had to resort to Solution 6 as nothing before that really worked. It was somewhat a nerve-racking experience given the fragileness of some of the inner components, but your video made it really easy to navigate through each of the steps. Ultimately, this fixed my issue and the controller is as good as new. Thank you!
@@Hpro1i for me its basic clean up, my problem theres dust above and under the silicon pad, because I wear glove when Im playing. The dust is so thick. I follow this tutorial 100% and after that it works like new. Not just that, all button feels responsive .
Step one worked. Not shure if there was actualy dust in there, but it seems the button was a bit crooked. prying a bit with the piece of cardboard to get it to fit all the way around seems to have allowed the button to pop back into place. happy to see my control alive and well again :)
Thank you for such a detailed explanation. We had to replace the rubber padding. All seemed to go fine but now it won't turn on. No response with a known working battery and only a vibration when plugged in by usb. Any suggestions?
Thank you!!! I unfortunately had to take apart the controller and do a deep clean because three of my buttons were sticking. But following this guide was so easy and now everything works. Also for anyone else that has to take it apart, the motherboard screws were t5 on mine
@9:00 the cables on mine did not come right off. Used my fingernail and the solder broke after some careful picking. Now the controller is broken. I cant solder that small. Consider including some tips on removing those cables properly.
I took it apart and there was some kind of red liquid everywhere so i cleaned it and it works great now. Only thing is the dpad has a slight metallic clinky noise, but works fine. I tried another controller and i got the clinky noise again but works great. Compared it to a new controller and I dont see any difference... I wonder what i did? Glad it works though thank you.
spilled teryaki on the xyab buttons and it got sticky in the barrel of the buttons. Your video got me in, got them cleaned, and got me gaming again. Many Thanks!
Solution 6 solved my problem! Im the type who doesn't fix thing by my self, I always pays people to do it. I dont know how, but I did it by my self and it works! Theres so many dust under the silicon pad. This thing happen because I always wear glove when I playing games and not to. mention I want to avoid yellowish from my controller because its white controller. Thanks for the tutorial!
So idk what’s going on but I have a Xbox one controller and it’s stuck when it’s titled upward but when I tilt it upside down it’s loose what do I do, what’s wrong with it?
Idk nothing worked my controller is like making less noise on the X button and it responds way less I have blown into it and removed some dust and for someone like me it's too risky to get in the controller itself
This video helped me soo much! I had a few sticky buttons on the controller and was about to throw them out until i saw this video! It took me upto solution 3 and they click like brand new. Thanks alot
does this work at all for xbox 360 controllers? I'm guessing not. any videos that ARE for fixing 360 controllers? the only results I find for them are about cleaning the buttons. I'm 90% sure my 360s A button membrane is damaged because it gets stuck down (flat stuck in place, and I have to wiggle it around for it to dislodge, it's not sticky like there's dirt in there it gets stuck in place like there's a mechanical error. it doesn't have sticky resistance like it's filthy when I try to press it down)
Instead of ripping your controller apart with brute force get some cheap plastic spludgers as they are also used in phone repairs, etc. With that you can pry it open step by step along the seams. Also not super easy but not as high a risk to break the plastic.
Cheers. Steps 1-5 didn't work to me and didn't want to risk it with step 6. For me the A button sometimes doublepress. If I hold it down and rotate my finger while still keeping it held down it also inputs presses when it shouldn't. And sometimes when I let go off the A button press it presses again during the "lift up". Really annoying, making me not want to buy another one of these controllers.
Im gonna still fix it. I did it under 30 minutes and solved my problem. Learn how to repair it by yourself, saved money, and feel satisfying when you can fix thing by your self.
So I made a wedge out of a thin piece of cardboard and just like you said something came out of it.Looked like a little piece of fingernail x button works again
I wanted to fix a faulty A button, did the removal and fixed back to the best of my ability (I really hate the Torx screws because sometimes they just refuse to move). While it could still power up, the A button improved a little, I ended up discovering stick drift on my left analog, not sure why.
I just bought one frome the store that had a 35 dollar discount its brand new but the x button was sticking, solution 1 worked. Got a brand new controller for 20 bucks
I feel like an idiot right now I literally just blew into the buttons and whatever was in there is out and all the buttons are working thank you so much for the video it was so irritating trying to get it to work properly
I think the ABXY is too low. in xbox 360 controller, those buttons is higher, also more responsive. I have used a tape into buttons to fix the responsive issues, I think after using buttons for a long time, the buttons will be more responsive
You sir are a hero thank you so much for this was super stressed about having to buy a new controller all together, but solution 6 worked me, thank you so much for this in depth tutorial
Funny for me it wasn’t something got inside instead I replace it due to one of my buttons didn’t work properly and not even a minute it already has sticking A button
Let us say I used ethryl alcohol 70% and now the when I put it up the controller the button comes up when it goes down the button works if that explains. It is a ps4 nacon controller.
You’re telling me for two months all I had to do was blow into the damn button n it work amazingly wtf 😂😂 I’m not saying it’s crazy I’m saying I did that n it worked thanks 🙏

My controller isn’t sticky but the A button is like pushed and sometimes presses itself, its almost like soft does anyone have a fix?
Try the cleaning part
Just blowing into it and the cardboard trick , boom, it didn't stick , thanks mate !
Blowing with a straw worked for me. Got this controller 3 days ago for free with a bundle, it's brand new and its already having problems

Thanks king❤️
I fixed it ,, only thing I did was spit in my controller and ,, boom ,, my controller buttons working 😂❤
Bit of cardboard vs. Koolaid....... cardboard for the win! Thanks!
I was so sad ,my favorite controller wasn't working ,it needed an update 😅
Thank you so much this really helped
First tip worked right away
I spilled orange juice on my controller every button works but just doesn’t feel clicky anymore do you think step 1 or 2 would help that
The later steps will likely work better. Sticky residue needs to be cleaned at the spot.
now my xbox one controller keeps pressing UP on d-pad by it self, how to fix d-pad?
See my dpad video linked in the description.
I got as far as the cercet bord step to remove and I don't got that small of a screw driver big sad
THANK GOD THE BLOWING ONE WORKED I GENUINELY BECAME WORRIED WHEN THE VACCUM ONE DIDN'T WORK THANK YOU SO MUCH

Thanks
Was there dirt between the X button and the PCB? Or did just a basic cleanup make the X work for you? I have the same issue but with Y button.
Good job fixing this yourself!

with that 100 pound you donated you could have gotten a xbox elite controller
With solution 1 a tooth pick will get the job done 😊
Updating my controller ended up working somehow
lol how
Step one worked. Not shure if there was actualy dust in there, but it seems the button was a bit crooked. prying a bit with the piece of cardboard to get it to fit all the way around seems to have allowed the button to pop back into place. happy to see my control alive and well again :)
or you could put 70% isopropyl alcohol-
Solution 3 is meta 🔥 didn’t try any of the others and all I did was blow with my mouth major W
Oh my god I swear that thin piece of cardboard part just worked for me thanks so much

You can use Xbox One Controller ABXY buttons on Series Controller?

Some times my A button on my Xbox controller just works by itself. So the method 1 worked but the issue just comes back idk what to do 😢
Don't use force, there's 3 closest to the stick and 4 sets of clips in two's that are towards the bottom if you look you can see them.

Thanks bro. I used a dental pick to get my Y button unstuck. Literally took one minute.
My sons Pokemon card will never be the same... but it fixed the issue :)
saved me from buying a new controller, goated!!!!

I just sprayed some WD40 a lil bit mind you onto the button and pressed it when it was sticking
Bro thank you so much. I'm playing fortnite and my B button got stuck.
Thank you, this is extremely helpful for an electronics newbie like me
Remove metal piece first before the D Pad that way you don’t bend the D Pad ring
Me funcionó la solución número 1, gracias buen hombre te dejo mi like.
