My first attempt with the crackle was a complete fail. Wish I would have watched some videos first. I did not use a top coat before the crackle process. I did not put down a thick coat of the steps. And I think I overworked them. And then I tried to use a water based glaze that also did not wipe off easily and caused the crackle to pull up and be really sticky. So much done wrong, lol. Plus I think my project was too big, a large vase.
I’m so sorry, it’s so frustrating when that happens!! I hope the video helped clear up some confusion and inspire you to try it again !! You can doooo it 💓💓🎉🎉
Im new to moulds. I am worried about how it will look when it shrinks and cracks so I have been using resin. Sadly the resin works out expensive. How much does the clay actually shrink and crack and does it happen slowly over time or shortly after making it ? TIA. Watching from Australia; :-)
If you are joining multiple pieces, squash them together as closely as possible to avoid minimal shrinking, and then you can add paintable caulking I use Alex fast dry depth to whatever spaces in the middle and Paint in 20 minutes
Oh Mara, everything you touch turns to gold!❤❤❤

If you decoupage do you use modge podge first or do you decoupage with the crackle medium?
I would just use any brand of top coat!!
You can use your decoupage medium of choice and then top coat and apply crackle steps 1 and 2
Love love

Crackle 1 time to dry??to go to crackle 2?
Yes!! Step two with a clean dry brush
💓
@@vintageretailtherapybymara1121 i ask time to dry the crackle
About 30 min
I have never gotten mine to look that good ! Not happy with the product!
Try using a clean dry brush for each step , ample product and sufficient dry time in between. For step two I apply heat on an off . Hope that helps 😀
Love it so you see I did watch , just as you suggested 😊❤️🩹
Your the bestest 💓
