I could watch Dr Lydia all day long, she is absolute compassion in action and such a natural teacher.
I like that the lil girl got to help. It makes memories with her granma, instills good work eithic, and makes her keep wanting to volenteer, and gain knowlege,mabe someday, she might want to go into a job field with animals, shes learning animals take work..its not all about just riding or petting them. Good job grandma, and little one

Not only is Cleopatra so quick to desensitized but I bet she quickly figured out that what you're doing is helping, I can't imagine the relief she felt after treatments
I think it is wonderful to see how you are growing as a facility and spreading the outreach. The system of shelters working together makes it possible for so many horses to get the best treatments they can and for rescuers to support and assist one another. Congratulations.

I just want to say that I have such a respect for everything that y'all do I love love love Pony tails horse 🐎 rescue as well. Some people just make me sick how they let these beautiful animals get to the point of suffering and it makes me sick. So thank goodness for the one's that Advocate for them.

I'm so very glad you guys don't hesitate to sedate a nervous horse for trims. Wish more organizations would do the same.
Wish they’d work with the horses so sedation isn’t needed. Cleo’s an exception here but the babies should have been used to their feet being handled months ago.

So cool that Mr Barkers donation is enough to do so many things. Love that you are building a spay/neuter clinic for the local area and doing all the proactive education. Totally agree with the multi-prong approach. For sure renting conf/mtg room space is expensive, even for or especially for a non-profit, plus you are subject their calendar.

Look at last year's videos, and you'll see all the yellow flowered weeds that take over. The horses don't eat it. Goats won't kill it off, so grass can grow when they re-seed. It's a complex issue, but fields with just natural weed control is very difficult. They need to get the grass to grow! The weeds take over in the heat of summer
That beautiful bandage wrap on Cleo's leg is gorgeous! Compared to where she started!
@@rosegarden9575 The flowers take over one of our pastures every year too (tho they can be found on every pasture) but they don't stay long and once their heyday is over, the grass has no problem growing. I really don't see the point in using weedkiller

Oh this episode sounds exciting! Just got in the door, got my coffee, phone is turned off charging & I'm sitting down to relax (I need it - I have been running around the city since 5:47 a.m. CST like the Tasmanian Devil today, it's now 8:24 p.m. CST) to the best group of people that I have come across in a long, ling time! Dr. Lydia, I'd like to know if there is laser treatment for cataracts on horses, or any animals for that matter, like there is for human eyes?
Lanigan (sorry if the spelling is incorrect) is awesome & it's obvious that she's extremely comfortable behind the microphone & in front of the camera!
That lady who came form Oregon offered a generous gift of volunteering. She even brought her son along! How awesome is that for the 2 of them to come 'n help!. But I want to say that when we first saw her sitting on the bench explaining who she was, where she was from & what they were there to do for the day, I thought she was there with her husband! She's a very young looking Mom! She obviously keeps herself well & healthy! WTG Mom !! 🥰

Thats a great idea tawny, but about doing work on the intake area fie you guys to be inside with controlled heat and air conditioner for you and the staff. Ivevhurd many times and seen first hand that everyone wants change for the intake process in the barn.. that is truly a much needed upgrade needed ... I pray you can get that done for you all... stay safe and blessed have a great time. Blessings to you and you all.
Old Doc left a huge hole in the organisation, but I really think Dr Lydia is worthy of the title Doc now... it would be great to hear her called this with all of the love and admiration Old Doc was!

Dr Lydia always warms my heart, her gentle nature, the way she touches the horses, just all she does….. hope she knows how incredible she is. Dr Gina too has that ‘something special’ about her. What a team!❤ Cleopatra is in simply amazing hands, as is every horse that steps through Horse Plus gates.
Elijah, your farrier, I just love him. He’s so calm and extremely Qualified. I love that you use sedation for the horses that need it. There’s no drama, no risk of injury to either Elijah or the horses. I love that the sedation can be lowered as the horses are trained to have their feet managed. Their feet always look incredible after Elijah has finished. Great job!

Dang, Keith, go find you an old iron worker to show you how to twist wire 😄. As a much younger woman I 'tied steel', making the rebar piers and mats for concrete. I think I could still put a figure eight or double loop on those panels, but I'm in Texas and that's a long way from Tennessee. At 72, my eyes aren't up for driving so far. 🤣🤣🤣

I am central Florida and I have a new never used English saddle with tack also of you want it I have a three tier saddle stand to go with the saddle. It can be taken apart into 3 separate stands. Do you have any one who needs it free.

Who lives in the house that is up on the hill? I see it all the time but I don't see anyone ever going to it.
What weatkiller do you use??
I'm a huge admirer of yours so I don't want to criticise you or anything.. It just concerns me that you are spraying two fields with weed killer after which you're about to let some horses out there. That sounds pretty toxic to me.
If it rains on it it should wash away, assuming the use an animal safe product.
Wish they would also show how the adopted animals are doing in their forever homes, just like the tortoise they had last year, but never did they mention what happened to him ( or her ) he was suddenly gone...
He was adopted by someone who worked at Horse Plus.
